I Love Paris Card

Standard

Good morning all. I’m dropping in this morning to share a card a created with a variety of patterned papers and an image from my Paris Cards Digital Images Collage.

I Love Paris with Daisies Card 1I took the color inspiration from the tag with the yellow from the daisy and the dark border.  With the tonic edger I gave it a really grungy distressed edge. The honeycomb embossed tag was a leftover scrap from another project….score!!!! I just added a dark circle of cardstock and a eyelet. Gotta love when you can work with scraps. I found that little wonder button on a fun shopping-dinner trip I took with my fav Vintage Chicks and I’ve been dying to use it.

I Love Paris with Daisies Card 2These super gorgeous flowers are from Petaloo and the Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon Yellow Double Faced Satin. I did Ink it quite a bit to create an aged look.

I Love Paris with Daisies Card 3Papers are a mash up of Webster’s Pages and My Mind’s Eye.

Paris Cards Digital Image Collage are available for instant download : )

Vintage Halloween Banner Class For Aug 27th

Standard

The Peeps have spoken…and I listened. They want to start Halloween projects. I’m not one to rush the season too much…. to be fair…I did see a large tree by the lake with the leaves changing to a brilliant fiery orange. Who am I to question Mother Nature???

Our first Halloween project is an awesometacular vintagy banner. That is awesome. Just sayin. lol I think this is my most favoritest Halloween project I have made so far : )

IMG_2086IMG_2072IMG_2081IMG_2071Okay…so the low down for this spooktacular banner. There is 40 separate vintage images, glitter, crepe, tinsel trim, buttons trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon, tiny clothes pins, goodies from Tim Holtz, punches, and hand crafted  washi tape.  There are 5 large banner elements, all different but coordinating, 16 hang tags. And very fun and dimensional crepe fringe ( hand crafted be your truly.) The web of spider image is from Graphic’s Fairy

There has been lot’s of pre-registers already….so unfortunately there is only one seat available for this class on Tuesday 27th of August at 6 pm. If you’d like to stop in and check out the rest of the banner and save your seat…. or just give me a buzz at the shop. Cost for this class is $30. I do not recommend this class for beginners as there are so so many elements.

In the next day or two I’ll be adding this kit to the etsy shop for those of you who are not local but still want to make this great Halloweeny banner : ) I will be listing 14 kits. If you would like to have a kit reserved for you…simply leave a comment on this post and I’ll create a special listing just for you! This will be a great addition to your seasonal decor!

I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

Sweet Liv Layout

Standard

I’ve created another layout display for my shop. My niece Crystal was so kind to let me use this beautiful picture of her daughter Olivia.

IMG_1070Is there anything cuter than a little girl eating an ice cream cone with sprinkles??? Nope! I choose to work with the sweet blue patterns from Lily Bee and pair them an awesome faux wood from My Mind’s Eye. The paper lace border was a kind donation from friend Bobbie. I stitched these layers down for detail…but it also keeps my layout super sturdy since it will be hanging in the shop.

IMG_1026I choose to frame the picture in painted chipboard. To the top and bottom I added some beautiful Diamond Satin Blue Topaz trim. Not only does this help cover what would be too much white frame…but it adds a lovely texture too. I attached it with my favorite Scor-Tape from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I used the Scor-Tape to attach the frame to the page and add the chipboard flourishes.

IMG_1030There’s some hand crocheted flowers layered in with the franken-flowers here. what are franken-flowers you ask???? Well it’s various parts scavenged from lot’s of different flowers and reassembled to give them new life. Don’t you just love the blue checkered brad???? Me too!!

IMG_1032Under this collection of franken-flowers I added a few tags. They’re a great way to fill space and stretch your embellishments.

This layout will look fabulous hanging in the shop : ) Stop by and check em out if you’re in the area!!!!

I’ve been working hard at improving my pictures of my projects so I can share all the fabulous little details and get the colors as close to real life as possible. Adding a light box was a great way to focus the light where I want…and get it evenly displayed around my projects…it’s simple really….just a painted shelf backdrop with large pieces of white poster board. I noticed an improvement right away. The light box has had an addition unintended use…..it’s the perfect gray cat attractor. Everytime I get it out and turn on the lights……Lily shows up : / and gets in the way of the camera lol. But she is too cute so here is her close up….

IMG_1088Not close enough?????

IMG_1089This happens every time I try to work at home lol. It’s amazing I get any good pics at all.

Okay…that’s it for this layout. Make sure you check out the second post for the day for some exciting news!

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

Valentine Card for Challenge

Standard

They’re having a super fun  challenge going on now at RRR. This time it’s Valentine’s Day/ Love & Ribbon theme.  So you know that had my name all over it.  il_570xN.414032108_fwa7I’ve been inspired by fellow DT member Misty to do a little destashing. So the paper I used here from My Mind’s Eye is from the scrap and  salvage box. The blingy hearts I bought at Target ages ago and recently rediscovered. The chipboard key and lock is from Maya Road….had them forever….but forget about them in the drawer. The pink string in the buttons is from my long abandoned cross stitch bag.

il_fullxfull.414029981_nv1iIt was 7 degree’s this morning….so I’m thinking longingly of Spring. Maybe that’s why I’ve been using so many of these sweet paper roses and other dimensional flowers lately. They match the pink Gingham ribbon perfectly! Of course it’s from Really Reasonable Ribbon. So is the pink bakers twine SWOON!

il_fullxfull.414032118_id1dHere’s the close up of that little lock and key. I tied it onto the bow with more of the twine. Someday I will have some of every color twine Bonnie has at RRR.

Are you asking yourself ” But I thought Ginny said it was a challenge????” Well here’s the best part….you can create your own awesome Valentiny project and enter the challenge at RRR. Simply click on this link and follow the easy peasy instructions. I can’t wait to see the awesome projects you create: )

Hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative! G

Our next class of vintage Christmas  is ready to roll. I created a few that are very shabby chic for this set. Here is a full shot of one of the cards.

I created this card with ton’s of layers…all in pale dreamy shades of creme. A vintage book page and graphic image on dots. Swoon. Next there’s a few glittery die cuts. A die punched craft layer that was crimped, stained and inked.  I’ve added some lovely vintage buttons and a generous amount of trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Okay…here’s a few teaser shots….

Vintage Halloween Book Giveaway

Standard

Are you getting your little ghost and ghouls ready for  trick or treating? What a great time of year when our little ones get to live their imagination and be what ever they want to be. My little ones are not so little anymore. We haven’t trick or treated for years now. But we haven’t given up on the holiday…we just changed our tradition. We plan our yearly family trip to Cedar Point. For all of you not from this area…Cedar Point is a totally fabulous theme park filled with awesome roller coasters and rides…and for Halloween they go all out and decorate every square inch with skeletons and hearses and anything spooky. The also have quite a few haunted houses and a straw maze. It’s not for the weak though…as it usually starts out nice…but gets chillier as the day goes on. This however keeps the line short at the rides…and everyone in my little family are coaster junkies.

I decided it would be a great time to have a fun giveaway. I enjoyed making this vintage Halloween book….and some lucky winner will enjoy filling it with pics of their little spookable and mementos of their holiday celebration.

Mini for Halloween

Standard

I thought I may as well keep working on the Halloween projects while I had the supplies out : ) I’ve been crafting away and watching reruns of Sherlock on Netflix. I just can’t seem to get enough BBC shows lol. Pretty soon I’ll be speaking with an accent. Today I’m sharing a fabulous mini album…created with a wallet fold to hold tabbed topped tags. The front of course is vintagy and has lot’s of trims and buttons.

Lot’s of room on these tags for pictures and journaling. The inside pockets hold additional tags with a bit of room leftover for small mementos. I’m loving these glittery stickers.  The inside page is a stationary tag that helps keep the ribbon closure in place. I’ve used a variety of paper patterns and mix and matched them throughout…most from My Mind’s Eye. All the trims are from Really Reasonable Ribbon .

Thinking of other fun Halloween projects to work on today when the Peep’s come in to play. This will be a great day. Hope your day is happy and productive and you find some time to be creative : ) G

P.S. I’ve listed this mini in the Etsy shop. Why not hop on over and check it out : )
