December Linky Party with Crafty Secrets

Standard

Good Morning Peeps! It’s the day of our December Linky Party with Crafty Secrets.  The theme for this month was anything goes. So I’m all like…you know maybe I need to make a non-Christmas project..just to see if I remember how. I think I managed okay.  You should be coming to me from the wonderful and lovely Miss Kathy. If you’re just getting started you can click HERE to go to the beginning. I created a Butterfly Card that I think will be perfect for just about any occasion….

For my tutorial I’m demonstrating adding texture to your projects simply by covering with a small stencil and and filling in with texture paste or whipped spakle. I added a quatrofoil to the left corner of the patterned paper and a live sentiment to the top right.  You want to do this after you’ve trimmed and inked your paper and after the ink is very well dried so it won’t run under the Spackle.

Butterfly Card Crafty Secrets 4Butterfly Card Crafty Secrets 2Butterfly Card Crafty Secrets 1I’m using patterned papers and images from the Creating with Vintage Typography CD from Crafty Secrets. I’m also using the fabulous Chantilly Lace Frame Die from Crafter’s Companion and Chevron Striped Twill in Champagne from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Okay now click on over to the fabulous Miss Michelle to keep on hopping. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Celebrating Christmas in September with Graphic 45 A Christmas Carol

Standard

Well hello there Peeps. Today we are celebrating Christmas in September with Graphic 45. I’m sharing an album I created for the CHA Summer Show. Christmas is my favorite time of year and we always have loads of pictures and memories to save so I always make quite a few mini albums to preserve our memories and display with our seasonal decor so we can enjoy the holiday even more! I created a fun little snow shaker for one of the pages by using an image+glitter, metal snowflakes and button+the packaging from my adhesive tape then covered the seams with tinsel trim!!! This collection is amazing with it’s combination of traditional vintage images and fabulous colors and patterns. I’ll be using Christmas Carol for just about everything this year from tags and labels to cards and minis. What a great way to celebrate the holidays!!! Trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon~Emerald Green Striped Twill, Ivory Crocheted Lace, Diamond Satin in Scarlet, Double Faced Satin in Red.

Rare Oddities Home Decor with Graphic 45

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Oh boy do I love Halloween so I was especially excited to see Rare Oddities!  So many fabulous elements to trim and layer and the background patterns are so fun and festive! I’m not sure when purple and green became a traditional Halloween color scheme..but since it did I have been so in love with it…really a nice upgrade from just orange and black. I’m currently working to fill a bookcase by my living room fireplace with all sorts of handcrafted Halloween treasures…I can’t wait to have an all G45 holiday display!

Rare Oddeties Wall Hanging- Halloween Decor 1I filled this large frame with all sorts of yummy Halloweeny details.  Rare Oddities is so much fun to work with.

I am a total sucker for gorgeous flowers and I’ve got a combination of Petaloo and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers layered on painted chipboard, glittery spiderweb and paper rosette.

Rare Oddeties Wall Hanging- Halloween Decor 2

This spooktacular guy got a glittery diecut frame..more flowers and rosette and a great big glitzy spider!

Rare Oddeties Wall Hanging- Halloween Decor 4There’s another spider creeping along this tiny dimensional book. I’ve given him some shiny bling on a clip to attack his next meal.

fpThis is a bit of a mad scientist collection of potion bottles, bird cage, more flowers and glittery accents all atop a super grungeified Dusty Attic chipboard dresser.  And as expected..another spider crawling over to spy on the flies in the cloche.  I’m using Satin Swiss Dots on Black Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to attach the keyholes.

I can’t wait to add this to my holiday display..it adds a bit of macabre elegance don’t ya think? But not too spooky : )

Rare Oddities Mini Album with Graphic 45 & Snapguide

Standard

Hey there Peeps! My turn to post on the Graphic 45 blog today huzzah! I created a mini album with Rare Oddities which is too fabulous! This little Mini Album was so much fun to make with the template provided on  the cover of the 12 x 12 paper pad. I created interactive pages with different closures, and pockets for tags. Mixing and matching the patterned papers with the chipboard, stickers and tags gave each set of pages a unique but coordinated look.  I can’t wait to display this spooktacular mini with our favorite seasonal pictures and journaling! This is a picture heavy post so I won’t jibber jabber about it. But make sure you get to the end because I have a Snapguide tutorial for how I created the base for this mini and a handy supplies list so you can make one for yourself!

Good Ol’ Sport Wallet Fold Mini with Tags for Graphic 45

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Well we’re finally getting some nice warm summery weather and I’ve been spending as much time outdoors as possible. A little too much yesterday as I’ve got myself quite a sunburn from being out on the tractor too long. Gonna spend the day recuperating in my shop working on some projects for a new kit coming out tomoorw…so I’ll be nice and cool..and covered in ink and glue lol.

I have a really fabulous project lined up for you today though…and just in time for a little Father’s Day crafting! And there’s also a Snapguide tutorial so make sure you check that out and you can make a Good Ol’ Sport Wallet Fold Mini with tags for yourself.

Good Ol' Sport Wallet Album 1 You can create this mini with 1 sheet of kraft paper.  I used the kind you get from the home improvement store when you’re covering hardwood floor. Why? It’s much thinner so it gives  perfectly tight crease lines and won’t get as bulky when you fold it up. #2 You can make them any size you want….as long as you can cut a perfectly square shape. I will say that the smaller you go….the more bulky it is so I wouldn’t go less that 10 inches. For this project I used a 12 x 12 square. Make them larger..and you’ll have room for the larger tags.

Good Ol' Sport Wallet Album 2

You can see now that you’ll get two pockets on the inside…and two pockets on the edges of the book.

Good Ol' Sport Wallet Album 3I’m using the paper patterns from the Good Ol’ Sport line from Graphic 45. The smaller paper pads are awesome to use for projects that need little prints.

Good Ol' Sport Wallet Album 4I used the sticker sheet to create tabs on these tags so they will look nice tucked into the book and will pull out easily.

Time to Flourish Perpetual Tag Scrapbook with Video Tutorial

Standard

Hey there Peeps. Well it’s time to share the extra special project I’ve been working on for my submission for the final round of the Graphic 45 2015 Design Team Call. I chose to make a Perpetual Tag Scrapbook nestled in the new Staples Window Shadow Box. I used the 8×8 paper pads of Time to Flourish and the companion Calendar pad, coordinating Chipboard and Metal Staples and loads of flowers from Petaloo.

Time to Flourish Perpetual Tag Scrapbook Graphic 45 1I created an easy to follow system to make a years worth of monthly tags that can   be filled in and enjoyed year after year. Just keep adding memory tags and this will surely become a treasured family heirloom.

Time to Flourish Perpetual Tag Scrapbook Graphic 45 2Each month has a special tag created with the Cut Aparts, Metal Staples, Chipboard and coordinating seasonal flowers.

Time to Flourish Perpetual Tag Scrapbook Graphic 45 3Using the pattern for the tags creates a consistent look throughout.

Time to Flourish Perpetual Tag Scrapbook Graphic 45 4Use these main tags to organize the inside tags for each month. There are 60 tags total that fit in the Window Shadow Box. Add the Claw Feet to the box and display all year for everyone to enjoy.

Time to Flourish Perpetual Tag Scrapbook Graphic 45 5I’ve created a youtube video tutorial for this project as my submission for the final round of the 2015 Graphic 45 Design Team Call. I hope you enjoy it…

I hope this inspires you to think “inside the box” for scrapbooking : ) Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G
