Hello My Friend Greeting Card

Standard

Hello my friends and Authentique Paper fans! Ginny here with a bright and cheerful greeting card I created with the gorgeous Cultivate collection.

I’m not sure why exactly …..but this collection reminds me of Scandinavian patterns. Maybe it’s just the farmhouse motif and the vibrant colors.

I’ve layered up these patterns with solid colored cardstock borders and spacers to keep it from looking busy.

I took advantage of the lighter hued faux burlap pattern with low contrast as a base for stamping on this large scripty font sentiment.  Stamps worked beautifully on this great quality paper for those who have not tried it.  I will for sure be doing more stamping in the future for these collections.

To balance the larger sentiment I added two smaller flower arrangements. I think those blooms match perfectly and the blingy bits add a nice sparkle and sophistication to a more down home collection.

Hey there friends and crafty peeps! Time again for another fun hop with the crew at RRR.

The crew and I are sharing the projects we created with the January Be My Valentine Ribbon Club Assortment.

You should be coming to me from Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. You’ll want to hop over there to start at the beginning.

I created a fun and festive wall hanging…..

Did I mention …it’s also a shaker????

I started with a double layer base of super sturdy 110 lb cardstock and layered on allll the things!

And pretty coordinating flowers in a generously sized arrangement. Also an excuse to tuck in an extra bow created with the gorgeous red check ribbon.

This might possible be the biggest mash up of brands and collections of papers I’ve ever put onto one project.

Your next stop in the hop is Kathy.

Celebrate Butterfly Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! If you’re new around here you might not know that my family and I live in Michigan where it get reallllly cold and snowy in the winter. I am not a huge fan of either of these things so I tend to tuck into the shop and think about warmer days ahead by creating Spring inspired projects.

This card has so many pretty layers of bright and cheerful patterned papers. I’m using a dove gray cardstock as borders between the layers and spacers to keep it from looking too busy.

I thought I would also work in a wood grain paper cut with a circle die with a scalloped edge and a stitched detail. This gives me a neutral place to add my fussy cut butterfly and sentiment banner. I really love sentiments that work well for just about any occasion. Even if you’re just celebrating that it’s taco Tuesday lol.

This arrangement is full of flowers from Prima and Really Reasonable Ribbon. I’ve used die cut foliage and loopy twine bows for a nice full look.

I hope this card reminds you of Spring…..even if you have snow covering the ground like we do.

Sweet Bird Tag Mini Album Flip Book

Standard

Hello friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here dropping in with a sweet little mini album flip book. This book may be mini…but it is very chunky and heavy!

I love this color palate….it’s so vintagy. The cover has a pretty bird tag layered with flowers, trims, and coordinating metal charms.

This arrangement of flowers is from Prima. It’s different collections …but they match the patterned papers so well.

Inside has tip ins and pockets with inserts.

There’s lots of extra room for pictures and journaling.

Some pockets have a different orientation just for funsies.

Plenty of room in the pockets to tuck in additional flat keepsakes and mementos.

All of the pages of this flip book are full sized tip ups so when fully opened this mini goes from 5 x 6 1/2 to 13 x 15. So much space in a little album

Nautical Slimline Card

Standard

Hello friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here with a slimline card created with a nautical theme.

For this card I’m using patterned papers in warm rich colors .  The burgundy paper in the background has a bit of a bohemian vibe.

I created this arrangement with some deconstructed Lotus flowers. I simply removed the darker layers on the bottom and joined 2 together to create a perfect sized layering flower.

For the perfect accent I’m using the Navy Wrinkle Ribbon to create a nice loopy bow that’s adhered just under the flowers to fill in the arrangement.

Holiday Joy Greeting Card

Standard

Hey there friends and Authentique Paper Fans! Ginny here to share a greeting card I  created with a combination of the A Magical Christmas collection and the Christmas Greetings Collection.

I can not even tell you how much I love the sweet winter scene on this holiday cut apart.  We live in the country so we get to enjoy seeing  lots of woodland creatures  and winter birds.

I created the frame for this focal image by using a pair of nesting oval  dies with a stitched edge effect and cut  patterned paper to the perfect size for this 3 x 4 cut apart.

A fanciful and intricate die cut doily cut from crisp white really helps to brighten up the color palate.

Pretty flowers, die cut foliage, and perfectly coordinating trims helps to anchor this corner and add loads of holiday detail.

Be Yourself Mini Album

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! It’s so hard to believe that Christmas is now only 2 weeks away. I’ve pretty much got my holiday crafting wrapped up and all the supplies put away. I was feeling a bit down yesterday when I created this album. I know we are all having our good and bad moments this year. Really wanting to keep up with our family traditions and spend time with the people we love. That’s the dream we all have of a magical Christmas and this year that seems to be out of reach for most of us. I was inspired to create something to promote some positivity.

I think this sentiment really resonates. Try to be positive…..but keep it real. Be yourself. This time of year that can be difficult as we try to put on a happy face for the sake of others.

I’m using the Poised collection from Authentique Papers and pretty flowers from Prima.

This book has a nice assortment of the patterned papers. I think the palate is very pretty.

When including lots of patterns it helps to alternate the scale or vibrancy so the combinations don’t look too busy.

I love the sentiment and the image from the 4 x 6 cut aparts so they’re incorporated as full page tip ins.

Once they’re opened you can see all the extra real estate it adds to this mini. Plenty of room here for larger pictures.

This collection has a great elements sheet of coordinating die cuts so I chose a few to add to the pockets to dress them up.

These inserts are covered on the front with patterned papers but left blank on the back so there will be space to add journaling.

I always like to include tip ins that are journal card sized so I can incorporate the sentiments and images. The ones from this book are not a part of the collection. They are carefully chosen from my stash as they really conveyed the feeling I was trying to accomplish with this project. I have to tell myself often it’s okay to work outside of the collection.

There’s room in the pockets to tuck in additional flat keepsakes and mementos.

My wish for you this season is to find some magic. Some cheer. Some happy. This holiday is not what we hoped for. But it can still be something good. Love you all.
