Day 4 of 12 Days of Christmas in July 4 Fold Card

Standard

Hey there friends and crafty peeps! Time to share the project I created for day 4 of our 12 Days of Christmas in July video tutorial series on our YouTube channel.

As you all know I love a fun fold card and this one has 4 folds so it’s 4 times the fun!

I’m using the A Cozy Christmas from Echo Park and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

A sweet and petite flower arrangement along with metal charms and sequins to dress the front of this card.

With all that extra real estate I can add loads of layers of the papers.

And chose more than one focal image.

Won’t you join me for a tutorial?

Day 3 of 12 Days of Christmas in July Loaded Pocket

Standard

Hello friends and welcome to day 3 of our 12 Days of Christmas in July tutorial series on our YouTube channel. Today we’re creating an accordion fold loaded pocket.

I’m using the Winter Market collection from Carta Bella. This collection is themed perfectly for winter and works great even after the holidays.

The base is created with accordion fold pockets so there’s plenty of room for all sorts of fun stuffs inside.

I was able to tuck in many folded inserts and even a full sized A2 card.

All the insides are covered in the pattern paper for a nice finished look.

Some items have unique shapes so they add loads of interest when the pocket is all loaded up.

You can utilize the off cuts from the larger inserts by adding them to the backs of the tags.

Won’t you join me for a tutorial?

Hope to see you back for day 4 of the series : )

Day 2 of 12 Days of Christmas in July Snowman Banner

Standard

Hey there friends and fellow snowman fans! Time to share the project I created for day 2 of our 12 Days of Christmas in July tutorial series on our YouTube channel. I created a sweet snowman banner with the Winter Magic collection from Echo Park.

Obviously the snowman is a classic Christmas icon so this banner is great for the holiday….but will be equally at home all season long if you live somewhere that stays cold long after the 25th like we do. We had several days in April this year with snow so I can leave this up until Spring!

I used a pennant shaped die to cut all the layers for these sections so the busy work went super quick.

The focal images are layered stickers I picked up from Hobby Lobby. They are so sweet and charming. I’ve stacked them onto a scalloped stitched circle and a smallish doily for a nice full effect.

The flowers are all handmade by me and finished off with stamens from RRR. They’re arranged with a simple loopy twine bow and die cut holly leaves.

The sections of the banner are all connected with extra tags positioned between on a double layer of chunky pom pom trim. Of course I can’t make a project without a bow…..or 4. These are topped with more twine and jingle bells. Last but not least some dimensional silver stars to balance the bells.

Won’t you join me for a tutorial?

I hope you will join me for the rest of the series : )

Day 1 of 12 Days of Christmas in July Mini Album

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! It’s time for day 1 of our 12 Days of Christmas in July series on our YouTube channel. It’s also time for the hop with the crew at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

We’re sharing the projects we created with the July Sizzlin’ Summer Ribbon Club Assortment.

You should be coming to me from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. If you’re just getting started you’ll want to hop on over there to start at the beginning.

I created a mini album that would work equally well as a planner or organizer.

I’m using the ribbon club assortment along with the Rosy Cosy Christmas collection from P13 for this album.

Inside there’s pockets and inserts. Plenty of room for pictures and journaling.

There’s also belly bands to tuck in bit and pieces that are better not glued down.

A sweet little envelope to hold special treasures has a tuck spot for the flap to tuck into.

Schneaky pocket pages are created by folding up the patterned papers to show 2 patterns at once.

Plaids and florals together is a glorious thing don’t you think?

I didn’t have journal cards for this collection so I made my own by creating clusters of the fussy cut images and adding a die cut doily and sweet sentiment.

Both the front and back cover have extra large sturdy pockets to hold bulkier items.

Wont you join me for a tutorial?

You’re next stop in the hop is my dearest friend Kathy

Joy Card for Christmas in July

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Despite the high temp for today being 94 and the humidity through the roof I am happily in my shop celebrating Christmas in July.  Of course it’s not snowing…but I have an iced tea and the air conditioner on  so I’m about as happy as an elf at the north pole.  Unintentional short joke on myself lol.

This scene card is created with stamped and colored images.  This is the Bundled Up stamp set from Whimsy Stamps. Oh how I wish bunnies wore scarves and hats!

The winter scene has pretty snowy hills created with dies and glitter cardstock along with a snowflake border.

This perfectly coordinating poinsettia flower is finished off with floral stamens and a loopy bow of wrinkle ribbon.

Christmas Memorydex Cards

Standard

Hello friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here with another festive holiday project for Christmas in July! This time I’m making some fun memorydex cards to add to my collection.

I’m using the Simple Stories Winter Farmhouse collection in the 6 x 8 inch size and adding loads of layers of the coordinating ephemera pieces.

This card has a sweet little shaker, 2 flower arrangements, and sequins and charms for a little sparkle.

The red vintage truck has become a bit of a Christmas icon. I’ve incorporated this die cut into a layered scene with an itty bitty villages, snowflakes, and large glitter stars.

This card has 2 focal points. Both are fussy cut from journal tags included in the paper pad. I needed lots of room for all these overlapping layers so I included a scalloped circle die cut offset to give me more real estate for all the goodies.

All my regular peeps will know I love winter birds and this cardinal is so precious even if a bit tiny. I decided that this tag would need a large flower created with glitter paper and I thin that sparkly blue really compliments the burgundy of the accents.

I created a tutorial for this last card. Won’t you join me to see how it’s made?

Merry Christmas Woodland Deer Card

Standard

Hey there friends and crafty peeps! Well today we are officially kicking off Christmas in July for 2021. This is such an odd year where time seems to be rushing by and moving slowly all at the same time. I can’t change the flow of time but I can make it more funner by posting loads of Christmasy creations : )

This card is created with gorgeous papers from P13. I did pick these up to be used as part of our 12 Days of Christmas in July video series on our YouTube channel…but I couldn’t resist cutting into it lol. I’ve layered it on some woodgrain with charcoal borders.

Is there such a thing as hipster woodland themed? I think this might qualify with the warm rich colors, the gorgeous plaid, and the deer rocking that chunky knit scarf.

I had so much fun creating these flowers with my Altenew dies and arranging them with die cut foliage, snowflakes and stars, and even layered pinecones with a bit of sparkle.

Thanks for joining me for for our first project of Christmas in July. Stop back throughout the month for loads more inspiration. Remember our 12 Days of Christmas in July is coming up on our YouTube channel starting on the 12th!

You Make Life Sweet & Let’s Party

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Well here at the shop I am a busy little bee prepping to roll out our Christmas in July series for 2021. Lot’s of work and lot’s of fun for sure ! But I still have time to work in some non holiday projects.

This first card is created with some of my patterned papers that I mentioned in a previous post. Once I got my “scraps” organized I instantly got inspired by them all over again : )

I really love this color combination. Pink and black is so bright and cheery and adding in the tiny gold dot really dressed it up.

I’m layering on pretty flowers in coordinating shades and filling in the arrangement with die cut foliage and loopy twine bows.

For the second card? Yep you guessed it. I’m working with that great combination again but this time in a 6 x 6 size card.

I’m topping off this card with a 3 x 4 journal card image die cut into a tag shape. Of of my favorite techniques when layering a card is to eliminate some of the background of focal images for a more unique shape and better fit.

More flowers here to finish the card along with some charms, and sequins. Gotta have a little bling!

Beautiful Butterflies Paper Crafting Kit

Standard

Hey there friends and crafty peeps! I’m just dropping in to share a picture of my dear Hubby’s bee and butterfly wild flower garden. If you look near the center and closer to the top there is a sweet little humming bird stopping by for a quick snack! We also have loads of bees and butterflies feasting on the nectar of these pretty purpley flowers.

This has inspired me to create a paper crafting kit with lots of nature inspired papers and gorgeous butterfly images.

If you want to check out the kit and see a list of all the paper pretties included stop by the shop.
