I turned a cut apart into a tag by clipping of the corners and adding a metal eyelet with twine.  I’ve also tucked in a metal rimmed mailing tag and loads of yummy flowers.

Many spacers between the layers for a nice dimensional look. The die cut doily in the back helps to break up the busy patterns.

Sizzling Summer Colors Challenge Pinwheel Topiary

Parrot Green Hey here Peeps. Time to start a fun challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon. This time the theme is Sizzlin’ Summer Colors & Ribbon.  So I thought to myself…hey self…what is more fun in the summer time than a pinwheel?  Am I right???? So I created a summer fun pinwheel peat pot topiary.

For my Sizzlin’ Summer Colors I’m using Yellow, Orange, and Parrot Green Wrinkle Ribbon. I moved that ribbon arrangement 3 time before I found the perfect spot for it and it coordinates so perfectly with the Simple Stories paper and stickers and chipboard.

I gifted this topiary to my sweet local friend who has been working hard on graduation parties and library fundraisers. She is a real local treasure….and a dear friend.

Okay now it’s time for you to whip up a Sizzlin’ Summer Color project and link up with us to play along.

Wishing everyone a happy and productive day!!!!  : ) G

Sweet Summer Cherries Projects and Creativity Kit

Hey there Peeps. I’ve been working away at some Sweet Summer Cherries themed projects in the shop….I whipped up a new creativity kit…and spent the day playing with all the fabulous images, crepe fringe and bows! These cards would be great for Birthdays, Get Well, Thinking of You….or even added to summer themed decor.

IMG_3267IMG_3272IMG_3277IMG_3274IMG_3270I used the elements from the Sweet Summer Cherries Creativity  Kit and patterned papers from my scrap and salvage box to create these cards. I’ve got just a few pieces left so maybe today I’ll whip a tag or two : )  Additional trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon: Red Center Stitch Burlap, Red Wrinkle Ribbon, Red Plaid, Red Mini Pom Poms, Sweetheart Blossoms. I’ve also added paper doilys, buttons and Maya Road leaf topped stick pins.

Okay…I’m off to the shop to see what kind of trouble I can get into! Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Sweet Summer Layout

Hey folks..it’s Ginny here with a super sweet and simple summer layout.   I was able to use some pics from an older layout….and some fun paper patterns and embellishments. How long have I had this picture??? Well…Alex  the little blond kiddo in the pic is starting college. His buddy is my BFFs son Caleb is going to be a junior in high school. LOL

I created the fun banner with paper cutouts, Brown Paper Cord, and sassy little bows of Green Gingham from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

The rest of the embellishments are stickers from a large sticker sheet, and some small file folders with some book paper inside.  Adding brown borders and ink helps to define the patterns. This is one of the few layouts I’ve created that will actually fit in a book. lol

I firmly believe that it’s okay to rework your layouts to reflect your evolving styles  and increased abilities. We are always picking up new techniques and skills…why not update creations????

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative. Huggs G

Patriotic Wall Pocket

Oh how I love the summer holidays : ) Not to mention that the 4th of July is D.H. Kenny’s birthday! So I’m always on the lookout for items to decorate our house for an Americana theme. I struck gold this week at Nichols Stafford. The sweet and charming shop keeper Laura is constantly bringing in new items so you have to visit often or you might miss out on something wonderful. I found a  metal wall pocket that was very nice as it was…but you know me…I have to glue paper to everything.

I filled it with some old wall paper rolls that I wrapped in bits of vintage sheet music tied simply with a bit of twine.

I used an image from Graphics Fairy and added lot’s of dimensional and handcrafted embellishments.

I created this fun arrangement with patriotic goodies to give a very built out appearance. It was far too many steps to make these great little “vintage” crackly flags but I am so pleased with how they turned out I will be making many more. I decided once I had this embellishment done it would be great to put on a backing and wear it as a pin! Guess what I will be making this week on Jane Day lol.

I was able to work into my patriotic theme a star spangled banner. Not in the traditional sense…but subtly.

This is my actual star spangled banner I created for Kenny last year for his birthday and was my inspiration for the wall pocket.
