Make a Splash Cards with Video Tutorial

Standard

Hey there BoBunny Peeps! Today I’m taking a walk on the wild side with two cards created with the amazing new Make A Splash Collection.   If you like bright colors, fun patterns and really adorable penguins….this is the collection for you.

I totally want to go on a beach hut vacay with these little dudes! This card was inspired by the oh so cute little cabana houses that I fussy cut from the 12 x 12 patterned papers.  There’s elements from Noteworthy and the coordinating Layered Chipboard Stickers.

I used quite a lot of foam tape and spacers to give lots of dimension to this fun card. The banner on the top was a fussy cut element from the 12 x 12 cut apart sheet.  What a great way to bring the color to the top of the card. The little twine bow was tinted with the Lasur Stain in Chestnut which gives it a more beachy feel.

I used the same Lasur stain to color the cheesecloth for a faux fishnet effect.  This card also has the super fabulous glitter sunglasses which are so cool and I want a pair for myself! I used hot glue to adhere the fishnet and to cover the goo globs I topped it off with  coordinating buttons.

This card just makes me all kinds of happy : ) Maybe it’s the sun and palm trees that we are lacking here this time of year in Michigan? I could definitely use some warm sand beach time right about now!!!!!

Please enjoy this tutorial I’ve prepared for you so you can make some fun in the sun cards for yourself with Make a Splash.

Okay that’s all for me. Wishing all of you a happy and productive day : ) G

Safari Adventure Mini Album

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here and I’m pretty excited to be sharing a fabulous finished project that started with me getting to work with the designers at Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts to develop a new Staggered Mini Album Base.  This was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to do it again : ) Safari Adventure Mini Album.

Safari Adventure Book 1I am loving how you can see all the layers of this book without even opening it.  It’s like a sneak peek.  This album base will be coming to the shop very soon.  I’m just picturing it with a Christmas or Halloween theme?????  For this finished project I’m using Safari Adventure from Graphic 45.Safari Adventure Book 2I added some great coordinating chippies for my theme…..these are the Safari Shapes Set and they will also be available soon at Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  Couldn’t ask for a better match! Safari Adventure Book 3Once you star flipping the pages you can really see the staggered effect of the page sizes. I added a few tags from Graphic 45 to give me room for larger pictures and journaling.Safari Adventure Book 4I worked in some of the Safari Adventure chipboard pieces . There are also some layered flowers. Adding these embellishments caused the book to get very bulky…..but that’s how I like mini albums so I’m thrilled.Safari Adventure Book 5Those laser cut borders work great to slip pictures in behind…finished with flat black to coordinate with the book cover.Safari Adventure Book 6I was able to create extra pockets for tags and more journaling. I love how the Safari Chippies colored in flat black create a graphic pop against the jungle themed papers : )Safari Adventure Book 7I did mention it got a little bulky?  Just the way I like it!!!!!Safari Adventure Book 8Loads of patterns here….but it does not seem busy with the solid borders.

Safari Adventure Book 9Close up of the cover…..I even tucked a tiny chippie camera in there!!!!

Okay that’s all for me. Be on the lookout for these awesome new Staggered Mini Album and Safari Shapes Sets.

Liberty Village with Petaloo and Canvas Corp

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share a very festive and fun holiday décor creation using the fabulous DIY Flowers and Canvas Corp patterned papers.  I love to make projects in red, white, and blue since they can be displayed for all the summer holidays!!!

Liberty Village 1I’m calling this Liberty Village. A row of tiny houses all decked out in patriotic colors and fun trims.  It’ll be a great addition to my seasonal décor. My hubby is born on the 4th of July so we really go all in for this great holiday! And we get cake…so that’s a win win : )Liberty Village 2These little houses are only about 3 inches square ( before the roof.)  I was able to pack a lot of detail in a small space.Liberty Village 3All lined up they are the perfect size for a shelf. From this angle you can see how the tiny chimneys fit perfectly on the roof peak. I had to do math shudder.Liberty Village 4For this center house I added a few glittery stars on spingy wires nestled into the kraft packaging in the chimney. To finish the tops of the chimneys I added a small length of white lace wrapped around and stapled in place with a tiny staple. Coordinating lace on the bottom of the house is layered over burlap trim. Liberty Village 5This roof peak is all decked out with the DIY Flowers, Red Jeweled Flowers,  glittery branches and ribbon trim.  I sprayed the DIY Flowers with Fireworks Spray to match the chevron stripe in the paper. Tinsel trim on the underside of the roof makes it extra festive

Liberty Village 6Surprise!!! The roofs come off.  From this angle you can see I’ve tucked in another star clipped in with an itty bitty red clothespin.

Liberty Village 7Simply untie the red cord and the little house opens right up to reveal a vintagy image and 3 picture mats for displaying favorite summer pictures.Liberty Village 8I just love how the shades of red, white, and blue are all vintagy and not super bright.Liberty Village 9Each little house has a different image….but the same picture mats.Liberty Village 10

It will be fun to fill up these little houses with our pictures and memories. And we can enjoy them year after year when we decorate for the holiday.

Take A Hike Box & Tags with BoBunny

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Today I am sharing a very special project I created especially for my Hubby for Father’s Day ( it’s a little late.)  He and my younger Son went on an amazing adventure last summer that was a life changing experience for them. They spent 10 days hiking 91 miles in the mountains in New Mexico at the Philmont  Boy Scout Camp with some of their best friends.  Thanks to a great camera on his phone he was able to capture the amazing trip to share.  I can’t possibly scrap all the pics…but here are some good ones….especially of them together.   Take a Hike Tag Box 1

The Take A Hike Collection from BoBunny is just too perfect to scrap these outdoorsy pictures.

Take a Hike Tag Box 2

Since this is a gift…I wanted to be able to include lots of pics so I’m using this fabby box filled with tags.  I started by giving all the chipboard pieces a nice base coat of flat black acrylic. Then added loads of layers of patterned papers.

Take a Hike Tag Box 3

Using the sheets from the 6 x 6 paper pad I was able to incorporate the full patterns for the outside of the box.

Take a Hike Tag Box 4

I took advantage of the smaller front section to add the layered stickers and ephemera pieces giving this project a lot of depth.  Chocolaty colored ribbons, buttons and brads really adds a great detail and still maintains the woodsy style.

Take a Hike Tag Box 5

I had so much fun combining the patterned papers and embellies to create tags with similar…but coordinating looks.

Take a Hike Tag Box 6

The backs are finished as well and has room for larger pictures.

Take a Hike Tag Box 7

I created a small open top box to add to the tag on the left. It has one smaller decorated tag and additional journal tags so my Hubby can share his favorite memories from camp.

Take a Hike Tag Box 8

You can see that he has a ton of room for journal tags in this little box.

Take a Hike Tag Box 9

After adding the pictures I was able to go back and incorporate the ephemera pieces to accent the tags.

Take a Hike Tag Box 10

I used the patterned papers to cover smaller chipboard frames for some of the close up pictures.

Take a Hike Tag Box 11

To help separate the busy patterns I used borders of black cardstock.  This picture of my guys on the top of the mountain is one of my favorites.

Take a Hike Tag Box 12

6 tags finished front and back. All different…but similar to keep a consistent look throughout.

Summer Vacay Layout with Beach Therapy

Standard

Hey there Peeps! It’s Ginny here dropping in to share a scrapbook layout. Yes I did say scrapbook. Yes I know it’s not a card. I can scrapbook…really….I just usually make cards lol.

MiscMe Summer Vacay Layout 1

This double page layout is created to fit the 8 x 9  inch Misc Me books from BoBunny.  I had loads of fun mixing and matching the papers and stickers and adding pictures of my boys.
MiscMe Summer Vacay Layout 2
The tropical theme of this book lent itself to ribbons with bright summer colors so I chose Crosshatch on Tangerine Satin and  Diagonal Stripe Orange Ribbon.  No room for bulky bows in this book….just nice strips wrapped around the pictures and used as accents.
MiscMe Summer Vacay Layout 3
These sweet little kiddos are not so little anymore. In fact Jonathan was never really little at all. The poor child was very chubba and on top of it really very bald..and when he did get hair it was so thin and white I had to give him a baby comb over. They are much taller than their mama now…so this was a nice trip down memory lane. And isn’t that what scrapbooking is really for ?
