Sport Themed Party Décor for BoBunny

Standard

It’s party time Paper Peeps!  I’ve got a fun selection of sport themed party décor created with the new Game On collection.  There’s a festive banner with multiple sports represented, pennant picks to dress up baked goodies, and jazzed up straws in a box decorated with a banner and crinkle cut filler.

Isn’t this a fun grouping?  I love all the little coordinating details.

I used the Lasur Gel Stain in Chestnut to add color to a tiny box that came in the mail with washi tape. Because the box was shiny the finish has a mottled effect that looks a bit like wood grain. I filled it with floral foam and added crinkle cut kraft paper then inserted the straws that were decorated with  a sport tag simply by cutting notches on the top and bottom and sliding the straw through.  Additional stars are used to accent the tags. They were leftovers from the die cuts that are added to the banner. This display would make a great centerpiece.

Can’t get any easier than adding pennants to long wooden picks and inserting them into baked treats.

I choose to represent all the sports for this banner with a section for each and strung them together with coordinating ribbon and fussy cut tickets hung between.

For a consistent look I used the same background paper and striped topper. Orange borders tie the whole thing together.

It’s very important to remember to use metal eyelets at the tops of banner to keep the ribbons from pulling through.  Adding the die cut stars helps to add texture and detail.

Soooo many layers! These banner sections have a lot of depth and dimension with the spacers between the layers.
Okay that’s all for me. We are ready to get our party on!!! Wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Spring Banner with G45 Children’s Hour

Standard

I was inspired to create a banner by the gorgeous vintage images and patterned papers from Children’s Hour.  The May selections were just so springy and paired with the chocolate colored patterns from the 6×6 paper pad the bright colors just pop right out!  I did some experimenting with the spays and gauze to create a background for the die cut frames. I wanted it to look like burlap and I think it turned out pretty great…even if I did spray my hand and the table! I added a little eyelash yarn to soften the edges and it also gives a great amount of texture.  The keys were finished with a light coat of Gesso to help them stand out and tied on with ribbon and buttons.

Retro Valentine Banner Kit

Standard

Hey there Peeps! I’m dropping in to share a Valentine banner. I really wanted to take cute picture of it……but it’s too long to get all in one pic : (  I had the ambitious plan to make over a mantle from a no longer working electric fireplace. I thought I’d paint it white and distress it…then I could use it to take all kinds of fabby pictures.   That is until the boys found it.  They gutted the heater unit out and replaced it with giant speakers and they’re using the top for their TV in the mancave : (  I guess I’ll be on the lookout for a nice big shelf. In the meantime…..

Red White and Blue Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon

Standard

Hey there Paper Peeps! We are starting a new Red White and Blue Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I chose to make a banner…..a patriotic banner….SURPRISE! Okay..I know you’re not surprised lol. You would be more surprised if I didn’t make a new patriotic banner right???

Patriotic Banner 1I’ve got Red White and Blue and Patriotic covered on this festive  holiday banner. I started with a base of 150 lb cardstock and layered on a ton of patterned papers. I added images from my Beach Babes Collage Sheet that I Stickled the patootie out of. Next came lot’s of Tim Holtz metal embellies and Petaloo Sugared Blooms. I’m using Navy Blue  Silky Crush Ribbon to hang the banner sections on as well as extra tags to hang between. The images of the flag shields were also heavily Stickled…..boy did my hand hurt after all that!  Notice how I added the bronze colored Eyelets?  That prevents the ribbon from pulling through so this will be a great addition to the seasonal decor for a long long time : )

Patriotic Banner 2Patriotic Banner 3Patriotic Banner 4Okay…now it’s your turn to create a project with a Red White and Blue theme and link up with us at Really Reasonable Ribbon to play along. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

XOXO Valentine Banner with Canvas Corp

Standard

I’m very very very excited to share that today is my first official post on the Canvas Corp Brands blog!!!! I was assigned to make Valentine decor….it’s like they know me so well already lol. Anyhoo…I created a really fun frame with a XOXO banner with graphic patterns in Kraft and Black and added some scrumptious handcrafted flowers well sprayed with lots of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.

love bannerValentine’s Day is one of my favoritest holidays….I mean who doesn’t love a day when you get to express how much you care about your sweetie annddd you get candy. What’s not to like??? I stretched this little banner on a painted frame with a lovely text background. I used the 7gypsies Vintage Clips to attach it to the frame so I can change out the banner for every different season.

IMG_4859Each banner section is created with Black and Kraft Diamonds with a Black and Kraft Ribbon Stripe topper. I cut the xoxo’s with a solid border to help separate the patterns and gave them a bit of glitter…because everything is better with glitter! Between each section I added trimmed sentiments from the Gratitude Sampler on Kraft paper.

IMG_4861I used several Tattered Angel sprays to create a lovely tint to more of the script paper from the background.

IMG_4862I also added a few paper flourishes and sprayed and layered paper flowers.
