I Love Paris Card

Standard

Good morning all. I’m dropping in this morning to share a card a created with a variety of patterned papers and an image from my Paris Cards Digital Images Collage.

I Love Paris with Daisies Card 1I took the color inspiration from the tag with the yellow from the daisy and the dark border.  With the tonic edger I gave it a really grungy distressed edge. The honeycomb embossed tag was a leftover scrap from another project….score!!!! I just added a dark circle of cardstock and a eyelet. Gotta love when you can work with scraps. I found that little wonder button on a fun shopping-dinner trip I took with my fav Vintage Chicks and I’ve been dying to use it.

I Love Paris with Daisies Card 2These super gorgeous flowers are from Petaloo and the Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon Yellow Double Faced Satin. I did Ink it quite a bit to create an aged look.

I Love Paris with Daisies Card 3Papers are a mash up of Webster’s Pages and My Mind’s Eye.

Paris Cards Digital Image Collage are available for instant download : )

Challenge #9 for Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog

Standard

Well hello there Paper Peeps! It’s time for another fun challenge with Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is “Fold It” How fun is that?????  First a word from our fabulous sponsors…..

10403030_10204149971577331_1907008936599992874_nStencils made by artists for artists. Unique designs for people who LOVE stencils like we LOVE stencils. Owned and operated by artist Mary Beth Shaw.

I’m sharing my project which is my very first fancy fold card…..and let me just tell you….it was super fun to make!

IMG_3477I used the WorldWin cardstock which was perfect with the Graphic 45 Couture paper collection! The black borders really helped to separate the patterned papers…and you all know how I like to layer! I did a fair amount of fussy cutting and layering. I wanted a pretty frame image to show when I opened the card so I used my Cricut Fancy Frames cartridge. Once it was cut…I gave it a good coat of black Stickles.  I also added a little bling to the ladies hair which matches the Stickling I did on her dress.

IMG_3479Here is the card opened. More of the coordinating Couture papers. Loving this color scheme!

IMG_3478I used my Stencil Girls Stencil to add pattern to the Off White Checkerboard Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. First I inked it with a teal chalk ink then stenciled on the pattern with Black Soot Distress Ink. I topped it off with a little Black Netting and another blingy embellishment.

I can’t wait to see what fabulous folded projects you all come up with! It’s easy peasy to enter your creation at Craft Hoards Anonymous Challenge Blog.

The CHA DT teamies are sharing their projects too….and let me tell you they are out of this world awesome….hop on over and check em out and don’t forget to leave them a little love for sharing…..I know I will

Mother’s Day Card with Botanical Tea from Graphic 45

Standard

Well hello there Paper Peeps….what a thrill it was to receive the amazingly awesome Design Team Supply Box from Graphic 45. I am just amazed at their generosity!!!!  I find myself in the “Craft Vortex” this is the place where you don’t want to use any of the supplies because then you wouldn’t have them anymore….and wanting to use it all on one project lol! I started with a Mother’s Day card for my beautiful Mama in Texas.

IMG_3364IMG_3366IMG_3365Supplies I used to create this card:

Patterned papers from Botanical Tea from Graphic 45….Fauna….Love Notes….Botanical Tea…..Sweet Chamomile. I also used a tag from the Tags and Pockets Die Cut Sheet.

To create the beautiful poofy bows I used  Brown Plaid Ribbon  and  Light Blue Chevron Striped Twill from Really Reasonable Ribbon .

I used my Fancy Frames Cricut cartridge to cut out the scrolly frame then topped it of with a coat of Liquid Pearls in Bisq and sprinkled on a generous amount of Martha Stewart fine glitter.   Everything also got a good inking with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Oh and Stickels because you always have to have something sparkly right???

Okay I’m off to the shop to finish the card for my MIL.  And maybe break into the Halloween paper????? Yeah I know I’m weird that way : ) Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

You may use ribbon, lace, twine, embroidery floss, string, yarn, fabric, etc. As long as you have something in the “ribbon” family on your project, you are good to go!

CHACB-blinkieFirst a shout out to our very generous sponsors…..

1 rrr post

1 sc backI submit my project for your viewing pleasure…..

IMG_3308I used my Sin City Stamp for the steampunk styled woman and layered her into lots and lots of layers of hot air balloons and gears. I created the back ground paper  with a stencil and loads of Distress Inks and added the sentiment stamp from Sin City Stamps in chocolate brown. I also used the stamps to create the pocket watch images. I super love the SATIN CROSSHATCH RIBBON IN LIGHT SILVER from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

IMG_3310I started the house base a while back…it was just waiting for the right project to finish it off. It’s very dimensional as you can see and super sturdy to hold up to the weight of all the goodies added to the front. I used a crimping tool to corrugate the roof and added paint then topped it off with flocking powder. The laser cut dies are from Sin City as well…I love the gears and clock works and flourishes.

IMG_3311Most of the balloons were cut out in triplicate and layered up. I added a small grouping of flowers to anchor the images.

Okay….that’s all for me. I know you’re thinking how can you get in on the fun for this challenge and link up your project to be eligible to win a fabulous prize????? Well that’s easy peasy! Just click HERE to head on over to Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog for all the details!

Challenge 2 at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog

Standard

It’s Team B’s turn to share our projects for the color challenge at CHACB.CHACB-blinkie

Challenge #2: Let’s See that Hoard!
This is a Color Challenge with a twist. Pick the thing or things that you seem to hoard the most, and using the color scheme shown below, create a project that showcases your hoarded item or items. Do you hoard buttons, beads, ribbon, papers, stickers? Show your hoard, but only the items that match the color scheme! (Please note, you do not have to use all the colors in the photo, nor match the colors exactly. Just use the photo and the colors to inspire you to dig through your hoard.)

1528693_10203187432634459_1701277955_nMy project started out as a card…..but by the time I had selected all the paper pretties I wanted  to use I realized that it was quickly becoming a layout lol!IMG_3019I started with a base of striped paper from Glitz. To this I sprayed like a crazy fool with every Glimmer Mist I could get my hands on to create a mottled effect. I added Chipped China Distress Ink to to the vintage music sheet…then sprayed it down with the Glimmer Mists also. After it dried I inked it heavily with Walnut Distress Ink.

IMG_3021When in doubt…I have found it a good idea to glue on elebenty hundred flowers lol. These are from Wild Orchid, and Zva Creative. I layered them on vintage images and Doily’s.

IMG_3023Many of the vintage images are from my own digital collage sheets.  I embellished them with Stickled layered butterflies and pearly flourish from Zva Creative.

IMG_3022I dry brushed this Tim Holtz metal finding to shabby it up…it adds a great dimension.

Okay that’s my project for the challenge. You should visit the rest of the girlies from Team B and check out what they created also….I’ve had a sneak peek and I can tell you they are awesome! Amber Milone, Christy Butters, Debbie SeyerJan Marie Ennenga, And last but not least…my BOLB ( my online Bestie) Kathy Clement.

Okay now get into that hoard and get your craft on! You can click HERE, to get to the linky tool to add your projects. Click HERE to check out the easy peasy to follow rules.

Vintage Snowman Wand Tutorial

Standard

I’m popping in today to share an easy to follow tutorial on how to make a vintage inspired snowman wand…and lets all just admit now that we have all needed one…and just never knew it lol. You’re welcome! It’s pretty easy to make..so let’s get started….I’ll show you the finished project as a teaser.

IMG_2680Okay…now that you’re hooked….here’s how to make one for yourself….

IMG_2671Paint a paper mache star ornament and hot glue it to a painted dowel.

IMG_2672Add silver glass glitter to the outside edges and clear glitter flakes over the rest of the surface.

IMG_2674Hot glue a white glittery star ornament to the center.

IMG_2675

Add printed snowman image. This charming little guy is from Graphics Fairy.IMG_2676Tinsel trim gives the edge a nice finished look.

IMG_2677Add generous lengths of ribbon and lace to the dowel. I used Diamonds and Dots on Silver Satin and White Crocheted Lace.

IMG_2678Here is a nice poofy bow of Double Faced Satin Light Silver added to the bottom of the image.

IMG_2679More bows of twine in Oyster. Topped off with tiny jingle bells….every wand should have jingle bells.

IMG_2680

Last but not least….some shimmery opalescent leaves with beaded trim.

Not sure what magical powers I hope to gain from having a snowman wand….I’ll just have to try it out and see : )   You can never have too much faith and magic this time of year : )

Okay that’s it for me….I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

Fall Flower Makeover Tutorial

Standard

Hi there all it’s Ginny here to share a great tutorial on how you can transform basic flowers from the craft store ( or your own stash lol I know we all have faux flowers in our supplies.) I needed some flowers to embellish a fall inspired mini album we were creating for our class this week…and try as I might I could not find any that fit the size or style I needed without them looking too “Thanksgivingy” So I transformed these rather plain flowers into a warmer and seasonally fitting embellishment with some ink, Liquid Pearls and trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

IMG_2532Basic flower off a stem with lot’s of the same blooms. It’s not really so bad…but it can be better!

IMG_2533Pull the layers apart.

IMG_2534Cut the shank off the center. It’s plastic…so it’s pretty easy to get through.

IMG_2535

Ink all the layers. I used my current favorite Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

IMG_2536Cut rough circles from Faux Burlap Antique Gold trim and roll to tatter edge.

IMG_2537Reassemble using hot glue between the layers.

IMG_2538Using Bisque Liquid Pearls smash and spread it into the center to lighten it up and along the petals to add a shimmery accent. I think you could have fun experimenting with different colored flowers and inks and pearls. Maybe a Christmasy poinsettia?

IMG_2539I trimmed these leaf shapes from another stem…the leaves were actually too big to use in their  original state….so I just nipped them in a bit. To the edges I added a nice line of Cinnamon Stickles for detail.
Once I had two of the  flowers transformed…I got out the glue gun again and attached them close to the base.. then layered them over the jazzed up leaves.

IMG_2531IMG_2530I think they look fabulous on this Count your Blessings Fall Mini Album….it’s seasonal without being Thanksgivingy. Hope this inspires you to give your flowers a makeover so they will coordinated perfectly with your projects!
Wishing you all a happy and productive day and time to be creative : ) G

October Blog Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Standard

rrr-blog-hop

Well it’s that time again when us girls at Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings get to share our projects showcasing the fabulous trims in the Ribbon Club Assortment. This month it’s super sweet and cheerful holiday colors and patterns.

ribboncluboctoberlge_2013

If you’re just getting started….you need to click Here to start at the beginning. Otherwise you should be hopping here from the lovely and talented Misty

Okay…here’s the project I created using the assortment:

IMG_2434-001This card has soooo many glittery inked and chipboard elements. As you can imagine I was quite a mess working on it!

IMG_2429I really thought the Silver Satin Ribbon coordinated perfectly with my shabby chic theme. I made one nice loopy bow and topped it off with Baker’s twine in oyster. Then in the center I added 2 long crystal topped pins that I embellished with snowflakes and 3 painted and glittered tiny jingle bells. Swoon.

IMG_2430I crinkled up the top layer of paper for texture and added the chunky chipboard snowflake that I painted and inked then topped with tinsel glitter. Last but not least a pretty little vintage button.

IMG_2431-001There’s a paper rosette that I inked…and dry brushed and Stickled along with a larger chunky chipboard snowflake. I topped it off with a lovely little printed tag donated by a dear friend. The little button on the tag and snowflake were from her too : ) Thanks a bunch.  Notice how I dry brushed the bottom paper pattern in white to give it a whispy snowy effect?

IMG_2433After last weeks Halloween Banner glitter mess I swore I wasn’t going to be glittering any letters anytime soon…but….I just couldn’t resist. I elevated these numbers on foam to give them some dimension. The sweet little lace border is Catherine White Crochet Lace.

IMG_2427-001Okay that’s it for my project…you’re next stop in the hop is Cherry. I always love every little thing she makes…I can’t wait to see what she came up with..I know it will be fabulous.

Thanks so much for joining us for our blog hop this month. I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G
