Valentine Card for Challenge

Standard

They’re having a super fun  challenge going on now at RRR. This time it’s Valentine’s Day/ Love & Ribbon theme.  So you know that had my name all over it.  il_570xN.414032108_fwa7I’ve been inspired by fellow DT member Misty to do a little destashing. So the paper I used here from My Mind’s Eye is from the scrap and  salvage box. The blingy hearts I bought at Target ages ago and recently rediscovered. The chipboard key and lock is from Maya Road….had them forever….but forget about them in the drawer. The pink string in the buttons is from my long abandoned cross stitch bag.

il_fullxfull.414029981_nv1iIt was 7 degree’s this morning….so I’m thinking longingly of Spring. Maybe that’s why I’ve been using so many of these sweet paper roses and other dimensional flowers lately. They match the pink Gingham ribbon perfectly! Of course it’s from Really Reasonable Ribbon. So is the pink bakers twine SWOON!

il_fullxfull.414032118_id1dHere’s the close up of that little lock and key. I tied it onto the bow with more of the twine. Someday I will have some of every color twine Bonnie has at RRR.

Are you asking yourself ” But I thought Ginny said it was a challenge????” Well here’s the best part….you can create your own awesome Valentiny project and enter the challenge at RRR. Simply click on this link and follow the easy peasy instructions. I can’t wait to see the awesome projects you create: )

Hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative! G

Vintage Dress Form Card

Standard

Sometimes I feel like the crafting bulldog. Once I get my teeth in something…I don’t want to let go. I’ve been playing with this shipment of Glitz paper since it came in Thursday. This particular card has such a lovely dress form image from the French Kiss Whatnot ephemera package.

I used lots of layers in soft pretty colors. To anchor the lightness I bordered in black. I also used 2 different Distress Ink colors. Tea Dye and Walnut. This helps give it a little depth.

The fabulous French text is from a larger image I found on Graphics Fairy. I simply trimmed them out and inked the edges. There is nothing like the creamy color of real vintage buttons. I usually try for a mismatched set. The scallop I cut from My Mind’s Eye paper and layered it under the black layer to separate the patterns.

This may be the most poofy flower embellishment I’ve ever made. I inked the petals to coordinate and added the scrap scallop pieces, a little lace, some fibers, and finished it off with 2 glass headed pins from Maya Road. I wanted a little extra sparkle, so I added several beads to each one. The border strip is punched pieces of scrap and layered with the pink stripe. The last element is a pretty sheer ribbon that got inked too.

I hope to find some crafty time today…but both the boys need to got to the barber shop and the pantry is bare…so shopping can not be avoided lol.

More Glitz Projects : )

Standard

You guessed it….I’m still workin away with the new paper goodies from Glitz. This time it’s a lovely card I’m calling “transitional.” It’s a little bit vintage and a little bit retro and a whole lotta French fabulousness.

Look at all those lovely layers : ) I inked these layers well with Maya Road black ink for added detail. The image of the Eiffel Tower is a French Kiss Whatnot. Love it : ) I did decide to trim it from it’s background. This gave me lot’s of room for extra paper patterns.

I used a punch with a simple pattern to give a  “lace” look edge. There is a nice selection of vintage buttons with twine.

I printed a pretty little frame image from Graphics Fairy over the book page text. I just love how the flourishes dress up this card.

I think this is a fun mix of patterns for an eclectic look that’s a bit modern…but I still got to use my vintage trims.

Keep posted for more projects in the shop with this great Glitz paper line.
