Winter Survival Gift Box BoBunny

Hello there  Peeps!  Well I’m happy to say that the holiday season is upon us. Sadly that also means that winter is upon us. There is one way to combat the elements and that is with a winter survival box filled with essential supplies to get you through. For today’s project I’m turning that idea into a present by tucking all the supplies into a handcrafted gift box using the Carousel Christmas paper collection. Another great thing about this project is I’m re-purposing a box from the recycling bin hooray!!!

 

I think this combination of pinks and greens is shabby…but updated and fresh.

I’ve piled on the fussy cut images to create a nice full arrangement. Adding the layers with spacers helps to keep it from looking busy.

Painted and glittered chipboard snowflakes really adds a lovely texture and great detail.

Santa’s hat was glammed up with Sugar Glitter Paste…because glitter makes everything better : )

The sides and back are finished with the patterned papers.

Now it’s time to fill up the box. I’m adding tissues, sunblock, hand sanitizer, and a hydrating lip balm. This is a great gift for teachers or local postal peeps. I’ve created survival packs for the woman who directs traffic at the school during drop off and pick up times and she really appreciated the supplies.   You could also fill the box with baked treats, a small gift, or gift card.

Joy to the World Greeting Card and Blog Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hey there everyone and welcome to another fun hop with the peeps at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

We’re creating project with the December Ribbon Club Assortment Back to Basics.

I think it’s very classic and sophisticated.

I created a card that’s very stylish and even almost modern.

I am not afraid to use dark colors on Christmas cards and I think this palate is very updated and mature.

Of course I’m still including pretty dimensional flowers like these magnolias. I’ve given them a bit of a face lift but switching out the stamens and adding a bit of faux snow on the petals.

I’ve layered a black doily under the arrangement to showcase the altered chipboard and patterned papers.

This bow is really quite fabulous topped with jingle bells and tiny brush trees.

Last but not least I’ve added a fair few vintage buttons. Just because it’s modern inspired doesn’t mean it cant have some classic details right?

Merry Cardinal Bingo Christmas Greeting Card

Oh my goodness Peeps we’re in the two week countdown to Christmas. How is that even possible? It seemed like it was never gonna get here and now it will be so soon.

I’m sharing a card today that is very nature inspired and loaded with holiday detail.

The cardinal image was on a sticker sheet that was on my desk for so long and although I attempted to put it away several times….I just loved that little bird so much I had to create something with it.

I’ve paired it with Echo Park papers in very vintagy patterns.

A garden of flowers is required for nature themed projects. Gorgeous ribbon trims fill out this arrangement,

There’s a bit of faux snow along with pearly headed stick pins.

To give the chipboard a more organic feel I altered it with a mottled finish and added crackling and faux snow,

Christmas Traditions Greeting Card

Hey there Peeps! I was just sitting here thinking wow we’re already done with our first week of December. Time goes by so fast this time of year.  I’m just popping in to share a very traditionally styled Christmas card and a few images from our holiday home.

I’ve gone back to plaid…but this time paired with with a pretty holiday pattern and a bold stripe.

Layered die cuts and Christmas sentiments.

Pearly accents and a die cut doily.

And perfectly coordinating flowers and ribbon trim.

Here’s a shneaky peek of one of our Christmas trees…..it has a gingerbread theme with loads of lollipops, peppermints, candies, and of course my favorite cookie…..gingerbread.

All of these are ornaments of course because if it were real treats the tree would be bare by the time the holiday gets here. Just kidding….no really lol.

And here is the same tree this morning with a little furry friend come to enjoy the Christmas lights…..

 I’m hoping to get more pics today…depending on the weather. It is currently snowing ugh.

Shabby Chic Christmas Wall Hanging Holiday Home Decor

Hey there Chrsitmas Peeps! I’m sharing a very sweet and shabby chic inspired Christmas wall hanging using Carousel Christmas from BoBunny. Not gonna lie..I kinda love it!

I just think Carousel Christmas is the dreamiest holiday collection.

I started this project thinking I wanted to create a shadow box styled ornament with painted mason jar lid…but before I knew it I had a wall hanging in front of me.

The lid is finished with a coat of Gesso then filled in with festive images and accented with faux snow for a frosty look.

Additional images are fussy cut and layered on with spacers for nice dimension. I’ve added a tinsel hanger and coordinating bows to hang.

The chipboard snowflakes are also finished with the Gesso then top coated with Glitter paste….because every shabby chic wall hanging needs pink sparkly snowflakes.

You can see the dimension I was able to get by adhering the elements with foam spacers between the layers. There’s a bit of the die cut doily peeking out here and I think it adds texture as well as a visual break from the patterned papers.

December Postcard ChristmasGreeting Card

Hey there all my holiday Peeps! Ready for another Christmas card? Me tooooooo!!!!

Graphic 45 will always be a go to for holiday patterns and images….and plaid….yes…more plaid.

Stacking images from the cut apart sheets from Children’s Hour helps to build a nice focal point.

A garden full of holiday inspired flowers mixed with pretty berries, and glitter accents…and of course ribbon…in plaid lol.

Chipboard corners here create a bit of a frame and since they are painted in crisp white they don’t overpower the patterned papers.

Tiny festive clip and seasonal charms are the perfect finishing touch!

A Very Merry Christmas Greeting Card with Video Tutorial

Hello there Peeps! Ginny here to share a Christmas greeting card that’s all decked out with altered chippies.

I’m in a very plaid kinda  mood this holiday season. I have three here….and believe me that is not a record for me.
The chipboard is altered to coordinate.
Layering the chipboard adds a lot of depth and texture.
There’s a festive little sentiment there too and die cut doily.
Adding sequins is the perfect finishing touch.

Deck The Halls Christmas Greeting Card

Happy December Peeps! I’m sharing a card I created with the new Back to Basics December Ribbon Club Assortment.

I was so happy to see this collection as I have some really fabby plaids that I’ve been wanting to use and the black ribbon coordinates perfectly!

I think the black ribbon was the perfect choice to anchor the red plaid.

Did I mention I like plaid? I am all about the plaid!

These gorgeous flowers are from RRR too. I’ve created a nice arrangement full of blooms and die cut leaves and glittery accents.

The sentiment is layered over a festive holiday die cut that reminds me a bit of chalkboard : )

I balanced the larger arrangement with a smaller second combination that accents the layered poofy bow topped with jingle bells.

Even though I was working on a busy background I wanted a little something extra so I included die cut borders in flat black. A few pearl are the perfect finishing touch.

Jolly Snowmen Creativity Kit and Projects

Hooray hooray it’s kit time again.  Oh how I love to create a kit. And I love even more taking a kit for myself to use to whip up some projects.  This time it’s a Jolly Snowmen Deluxe Creativity Kit 2017. I’ve included fabulous retro images, holiday patterned papers, pre-tied bows and a sleigh full of extra fun embellies like tinsel trim, twine, jingle bells, silvery snowflakes, bling, die cut glitter stars, and sequins.

Hey there Peeps! I’m back with more plaid bwa ha ha.  I mean  I haven’t really gotten too far away from the plaid this entire holiday season have I? Sorry not sorry. Lol.

Annnnnnd not just one plaid. I’ve worked in two because that’s what I do!

And a big ol pile of perfectly coordinated flowers.
