Let’s Hear it for the Dad’s

Standard

Hey there peeps! I’m dropping in today with cards for the Dad’s.   These are CAS cards….which I’m learning to get better at.  It’s a little easier with masculine cards since they don’t want all the fluff and froo froo anyway.

Cityscapes Masculine Greeting Card

Standard

Hey there Peeps!   I’m sharing a masculine card today created with Cityscapes from Graphic 45.  This new line  has some fabulous subway style sentiments that can be layered over the richly  colored paper patterns. I’ve chosen a subtle architectural pattern and paired it with a graphic stripe for this card.

Masculine Cards and Creativity Kit

Standard

Hey there Peeps! As promised I’ve got the new masculine cards mostly all done….and the Masculine Variety Card Creativity Kit is listed. Okay..it’s really much later in the day than I would like..but at least I’m still on the right day!!! And by mostly done..I mean I have 4 completed..and 4 laid out ready to assemble and embellish.

masculine kit card 3Isn’t this a dapper fellow? It’s hard sometimes to stop when you get rolling on a card…but if you don’t add too many flowers and bows you’ll be alright.

masculine kit card 2For this card I scavenged some stitched canvas for the background then added the patterned papers and image.

masculine kit card 4I like to have several cards on hand that I can use in a pinch like this one….could be a Birthday or Get Well Soon card…that way I’ll be prepared when I need one.

masculine kit card 1The secret to making all those patterns work together on the same card? Solid borders…that keeps your eyes from going buggy.1111111111111111111

I’ve got the next four cards blocked out and ready to to assemble and embellish…but first a trip to the post office!

Masculine Creativity KitI’ve got loads of patterned papers in warm rich colors, vintagy images in great masculine themes, pretied satin bows and lots of sentiments to mix and match so creating unique cards will be a cinch! There was more than enough for 8 full sized projects..with bits and pieces leftover …maybe I’ll make some tags?? You can find this Masculine Variety Card Creativity Kit in the Polly’s shop on Etsy : )

Okay..I’m off to the post office…wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

A Week Of Graphic 45 Box Staples

Standard

Hey Paper Peeps! Think you’ve seen it all when it comes to G45 boxes? Well you haven’t!!! This weeks features are all about the Box Staples and let me tell you….the designers have really thought “outside the box” on this assignment. I’m still on a mission to create more masculine projects so my box project is Dad’s ATC Treasure Box with Good Ol’ Sport….

Dad's ATC Treasure Box Good Ol' Sport 1I layered the patterned papers and fussy cut images on top of the box.

Dad's ATC Treasure Box Good Ol' Sport 2I used a chipboard frame at the back of the lid so I could create a dimensional display with the images, chipboard and flowers.

Dad's ATC Treasure Box Good Ol' Sport 5I used some Gold Smooch on the chipboard and heat set it to get a metallic look.

Dad's ATC Treasure Box Good Ol' Sport 4These new Claw Feet Metal Staples are so cool and I’ll be using them on everything!!!!

Dad's ATC Treasure Box Good Ol' Sport 3Now you can see why I’m calling it a treasure box! The lid opens to reveal the inside of the ATC Box. I covered it with silver paper that I ran through the embosser to give the look of steel plating.

Masculine Golf Card with G45 Good Ol’ Sport

Standard

Hello Peeps! I’ve been working away at getting some more masculine cards in the shop as requested. I’m enjoying my paper tablet from Graphic 45….the Good Ol’ Sport line…..soooo many great patterns and images to mix and match!  I’m sharing my golf card today for your viewing pleasure!

IMG_3221

I do love me some plaid and layered with this nice wide stripe…awesomness!!!  I don’t very often make square cards….and I’m not even really sure why????? Do you get into a habit of doing something and then think to yourself…how did that even start???? LOL  Anyhoo I think this is quite a stylish golfing chap. I would love a pair of argyle socks like that. Although I’m not sure where I would were them.

IMG_3223
Don’t need to add too much fussiness to masculine cards….so I added a simple bow of Wrinkle Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon
. There are a few trimmed stamps and layers of the postcard images. I finished the inside as well. I added a few Tim Holtz metal clips for a little detail.

Okay off to the shop now…we are having a make up class tonight as the girls let me off the hook Tuesday so I could work on my video : ) I do have the bestest Peeps!

I hope you all have a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Happy Valenties Day!!!!!!

Standard

I’m just popping in for a quick minute to share the Valentine Card I made for my sweetie : )

IMG_0952I wanted to create a card with all my usual layers and embellishments but put a masculine spin on it so it wouldn’t be so frou frou. I choose some nice paper patterns with blacks and cremes.

IMG_0954Chunky chipboard letters take the place where I might have chosen a vintage image.  I layered the small tag to the chipboard heart after punching another heart and adding some coordinating paper behind. That ink on the outside of the tag is Gathered Twigs Distress Ink….I think it’s my new favorite.

IMG_0953I am soooooo loving the new Hounds tooth wired edge ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I got all the colors so you’ll be seeing a lot of it in my projects : ) I had the kiss ribbon in my stash and it coordinates perfectly with the Ivory Wrinkle Ribbon and the Licorice Bakers Twine. I finished of this bow with a simple black button.

IMG_0960This may be the bowiest bow I’ve ever made : )

So that’s it for my Valentiney project for my sweetie D.H. I love you Kenny : )

I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be romantic. G
