Deck The Halls Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Happy December Peeps! I’m sharing a card I created with the new Back to Basics December Ribbon Club Assortment.

I was so happy to see this collection as I have some really fabby plaids that I’ve been wanting to use and the black ribbon coordinates perfectly!

I think the black ribbon was the perfect choice to anchor the red plaid.

Did I mention I like plaid? I am all about the plaid!

These gorgeous flowers are from RRR too. I’ve created a nice arrangement full of blooms and die cut leaves and glittery accents.

The sentiment is layered over a festive holiday die cut that reminds me a bit of chalkboard : )

I balanced the larger arrangement with a smaller second combination that accents the layered poofy bow topped with jingle bells.

Even though I was working on a busy background I wanted a little something extra so I included die cut borders in flat black. A few pearl are the perfect finishing touch.

Believe Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Hello everyone! I’ve been a busy little bee creating loads of Christmas projects and I’ve fallen into a Victorian groove lately. Or at least this is my version of it. I think it’s the scripty font on sentiment die cut and the vintagy Santa.

Believe Frosty Window Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

This combination of paper patterns reminds me of wall paper in a lovely old house in England. Not that I’ve ever been. Maybe someday. Travel goals.

Believe Frosty Window Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

The chipboard window is finished to look very antique and has faux snow in the panes to look like a frosty Christmas scene.

Holiday die cuts are layered here with spacers for depth and some have more of the “snow.”

A tiny number tag is clipped on to accent the window. All of the elements here are layered over a pretty die cut doily in crisp white.

Last but not least sparkly jingle bells, ribbon, and twine.

Vintage Santa Love Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed a lovely holiday with your family. This year we had two Thanksgivings  so that we could spend time with all the Peeps. Last night we had dinner with our Niece and her Husband and family. It was really a great time with delicious food and new friends!

But back to work today…..Santa’s elves never rest after all. I’m sharing a Christmas greeting card with a gorgeous Santa image.

Vintage Santa Love Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

The images are traditional….but I think it has almost a Victorian theme. Maybe it’s the font on the  sentiment die cut?

Vintage Santa Love Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I know I’m obsessed with vintage buttons….but this is a record amount for me to add to one card. And I ain’t even mad lol.

Vintage Santa Love Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

Pretty coordinating  trims and flowers : )  I’ve layered in a die cut wreath here as well and tucked in a crisp white doily to create a base for the embellishments.

Have you noticed a trend here with the dark plaids?  If I’m being honest….I want to put plaid on every project from now on.  This time it’s paired with black patterns on kraft cardstock and I love how it turned out!

Standard

Happy Thanksgiving to all my peeps who are celebrating today! I am thankful for each and every one of you. I’m hoping you have a happy and blessed day full of family and fun and especially pie…lots and lots of pie!

I wish I had a Thanksgiving card to share today…but I’ve already shared all of them so I’m staying on the Christmas theme.

I super love this card. The chipboard frame really pops against the dark colored patterned papers.

I’ve balanced the larger arrangement with a giant poinsettia. I really love poinsettias….but we have cats so it’s not safe to decorate with them here : (

Pearls seem to be a classy little accent on this card with darker colors….like a pearl necklace on a little black dress.

Masculine Golf Card with G45 Good Ol’ Sport

Standard

Hello Peeps! I’ve been working away at getting some more masculine cards in the shop as requested. I’m enjoying my paper tablet from Graphic 45….the Good Ol’ Sport line…..soooo many great patterns and images to mix and match!  I’m sharing my golf card today for your viewing pleasure!

IMG_3221

I do love me some plaid and layered with this nice wide stripe…awesomness!!!  I don’t very often make square cards….and I’m not even really sure why????? Do you get into a habit of doing something and then think to yourself…how did that even start???? LOL  Anyhoo I think this is quite a stylish golfing chap. I would love a pair of argyle socks like that. Although I’m not sure where I would were them.

IMG_3223
Don’t need to add too much fussiness to masculine cards….so I added a simple bow of Wrinkle Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon
. There are a few trimmed stamps and layers of the postcard images. I finished the inside as well. I added a few Tim Holtz metal clips for a little detail.

Okay off to the shop now…we are having a make up class tonight as the girls let me off the hook Tuesday so I could work on my video : ) I do have the bestest Peeps!

I hope you all have a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Show me the Green Challenge at RRR

Standard

Happy March 1st to all you Paper Peeps. I’m hoping you all have much more Spring like weather than we are having here in mid-Michigan. Hopefully the old saying is right that it comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. Today is well below freezing and we’re expecting another 5-6 inches of snow overnight….uuugghhh.

Okay enough with the jibber jabber…..it’s time for another fabulous challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon. This time it’s a “Show Me The Green” theme…how fun is that??? Okay I know what you’re thinking….Ginny doesn’t make green projects. Yep you got me…I normally don’t….but how can I help myself this time of year????

Here is my card….

IMG_3073I layered a few bold plaid and check patterns separated with a craft brown, then added a fun bingo card, a doily, and a sheet music oval. That makes a nice base for my pooftacular bow:

IMG_3072Oh yes I did layer Apple Green Satin Swiss Dots, with green chevron. If that wasn’t enough I topped it off with sweet green roses, glittery shamrocks, Wild Orchid Leaves, and a green vintage ticket image.

IMG_3071This little guy is adorable with his little green diaper on : ) I found him in with some valentine images…so odd…he had a red heart on his hat…..so I just covered it with bling. I added some pearly bling to the music image too! Of course he got a good dose of Stickles!

Okay…that’s it for my green challenge card. Now it’s your turn to whip up a fabulous “Show Me The Green” project and play along with the challenge. I’m off to the shop now to work on another great green creation….the banners we are creating in class next week.  I’m sure once we hang them they will bring us lot’s of luck!!!!

I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

Show Me the Green?????

Standard

I had a lovely visit last night with friend Meredith. I shared with her that I would be posting a project for the show Me the Green and Ribbon Challenge at RRR. By the look on her face I don’t think she believed me.  It’s true that I do not normally find myself reaching for green when I work lol. Bonnie always challenges me to work outside the box. So here is my project ….I hope I made Meridith proud : ) She is a beautiful sassy redhead….so maybe she’s Irish?????

IMG_1009-002

It looks like a card from this pic….but it’s actually a large rectangly chalkboard. Hard to get it all in the same pic. I clipped and layered the little basket wielding Bonnie Lass over several different Irishy images….including a shamrock border.   Lovin the green plaid.

IMG_1008I considered naming this post ” I don’t always use green trims….but when I do…I pull out every pattern I have and glue it on the same project!!!” Okay…that’s a bit of an exaggeration…I actually have more ….so odd considering I don’t work in greens much lol.  I layered the Green Moss Gingham over Celery Chevron and Natural Burlap. There’s also  Olive Pom Poms under the shamrocks and the bow has a hand crocheted flower, topped off with Olive Wrinkle Ribbon and Apple Bakers Twine.

IMG_1016Various shades of green flowers were layered here with some sparkly bits, white accents and more of the crocheted flowers.

So that’s it for my Show Me The Green and Ribbon Project. The other DT girls have shared their fabulous projects for the challenge too …you should hop on over and check em out….while you’re there why not enter your own Show me the Green And Ribbon project.

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G
