Shabby Chic Birthday and Football Update
As promised here is a shabby pink Birthday card. I told you all I was going to make a shabby card…and I did. Then I made a card with on owl on it. Not sure how to tie that into the shabby theme lol…but that’s how I roll right???
The answer to every crafty question should be….put a big flower on it! And some pretty trims….and lot’s of inking, and layers of paper : )
Don’t forget the buttons and doily! The trims I used for this card: Ivory Satin and Juliet lace from Really Reasonable Ribbon
Did you think I was gonna show the owl card next? I did too : ( Unfortunately the pic won’t load dang it. So I guess I’ll save that for another day. It is pretty cute though…if I do say so myself.
I shared in the last post that we were going to enjoy our small town Friday night lights! The band was awesome as always and the team won 38-6 good job Pirates that’s a great start to the season! And the weather was just beautiful!
I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative: ) G

School Themes Mini Album
Here’s a cute little mini album I whipped up in the shop yesterday….just right for those kiddos going back to school.
For the cover I’ve layered some pretty patterns and vintage images. Lot’s of ribbon from RRR and buttons with string. Great little paper rosette is a nice dimensional embellishment.
There’s glassine bags holding tags between the pages for more room to add pics and journaling. Isn’t that tiny clothespin a fun topper for the tag?
Here’s another tag in the pocket on the right side page. That little serious student looks like I do when I try to do math lol.
Another glassine bag.
I love the ruled paper on these pages . Just right for journaling.
This is my favorite set of pages : ) So colorful and cheerful and tagful…yep that’s a new word lol.
Last but not least….ABC stamps…how adorable.
Here’s a little closeup of the rosette.
The trims I used on the little mini are Rust Organza, Brown Twill, and Brown Striped Grosgrain. This mini is available as a Kit. Just right for back to school pics, or gifts for teacher or grandparent…in time to get done before the holidays.
Okay that’s it for me this morning. Time to get ready to go to the shop. I’ve got shabby chic on my mind today so be on the lookout for something girlie and pink tomorrow lol. Tonight we’ll be at the high school football game to watch Jonathan in the marching band. Go Pirates!!!!
I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative.

I have mini mania : )
I’ve been on a mini album kick lately. I’ll be sharing several over the next few days. I love to layer them up with loads of patterned papers and cardstock….then accent them with stickers.
I added some trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon….and some from my stash to dress the rings and accent the cover.

Creating baby projects always makes me very nostalgic for my boys when they were small. Everyone in my house is taller than me now. ( not too much of a challenge actually considering I’m very short lol )
Okay so that’s mini #1. Check back in tomorrow for mini #2. I think you can guess it’s a baby girl mini.
Now off to create some Super Bowl munchies and watch some pre-game specials.
Hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

A Day Well Spent
I’ve indulged my need to make myself busy in the kitchen today. I would traditionally be knee deep in Christmas cookies and casseroles and rolls. Life is a little bit simpler now. A little bit quieter. Jonathan had a friend over. Dylan : ) Nice young man. We had a sleepy morning with pancakes…then they spent their time playing video games…and football in the yard : )
So I puttered in the kitchen. Something a little bit bready sounded good. And something a little bit creamy???? Don’t mind if I do.
Homemade cream of mushroom soup. Chopping and dicing and then saute. Then a nice long simmer. Strangely enough…I don’t like mushrooms….but I love cream of mushroom soup. I’m so conflicted lol. For those of you worrying that we’ve fallen off the wagon….don’t panic…it’s vegan : )
A lovely foccacia to dunk in the soup. Isn’t bread baking in the oven the most divine aroma a house can have???
The recipe makes 2 foccacias. The little bread nugget on the top is what’s left of the first one 5 minutes after it came out of the oven. Did I mention we had 3 teenaged boys today ??? Happy children with full bellies is just the best blessing you could ask for.
So as you can tell…I’m having a wonderful day….hope you are too. Huggs G

Welcome Summer Card
This card made with my S.E.I. die cuts has a fun little window and flower box.
I coordinated the colors from the shutters and window box for a warmer summery look. Still using the My Mind’s Eye vintage Halloween papers and layering them on craft brown cardstock.
I choose to embellish this card with a simple length of ribbon and bow then topped it off with a super tiny clothes pin and metal mailing tag.
I had fun playing paper with heather yesterday…and watching reruns of The Finder (my new favorite show.) Then after work and making dinner I spent my evening on the tractor mowing the back 40 and watched D.H.Kenny and Jonathan throwing the football : ) Followed by a nice rest in the lawn chairs with a lager to watch the sunset. I do love this country life!!
Feeling the need to get back into some shabbyer and vintagy colors so that’s the plan for Jane Day tomorrow. Wish me luck!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy some time to be creative. G
