Santa Shaker Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Time again for another fun challenge with the crew at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog. Our fabulous host for this challenge is Maggi!

Challenge Theme: It’s the Holidays!
“This is such a busy time of the year that it’s hard to find anytime to pursue our paper passion! With that in mind, I designed a challenge that will hopefully give you some needed crafting time, while making something useful for the holiday season that is upon us! For this challenge, create a vintage or shabby chic card, tag, gift box, bag, anything holiday related, that you can use over the holidays.”

I created a fun and festive shaker greeting card….

Stamperia Pink Christmas Prima Flowers Tim Holtz Idea-ology Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

This card is created with the gorgeous Stamperia Pink Christmas collection.  I think it’s absolutely dreamy!

I did mention it’s a shaker card right?  This is a great way to utilize larger images as backgrounds for the shaker.

I’ve layered the shaker onto one of the larger cut aparts with a pretty floral on pink background.  I love the layering of florals here as the difference in scale helps to keep the patterns from looking too busy.

These gorgeous Prima flowers are arranged with die cut foliage and glittery stars.

Another smaller arrangement for the top with pretty metal holiday charms.

The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Quote Chip. I’ve added some glass glitter to help fill in the depth from the chipboard.

Now it’s your turn to create a fabulous project featuring lovely leaves and link up with us at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog  to play along!

  1. I love shaker cards and yours is no exception! What a beautiful window showcase and the sequins add a beautiful effect over the beautiful image! Gorgeous card!

  2. Stamperia’s “Pink Christmas” does make into beautiful cards!! For me, this remains the only Christmas collection where pink seems to work so well. The surprise, for me, is the stars…a sharp contrast to the “softness” of this paper collection. Because it’s Christmas, that contrast adds a lovely element that coordinates with the silver charms. Your cards are such a creative adventure…so many design choices and elements that work together beautifully. I have a couple of friends that are going to be so pleased that I will be working with pink on their Christmas cards! Thanks for posting all the close up photos…much appreciated!
