Gate Fold Valentine Card w/Belly Band and Video Tutorial

Hey there all you fabulous friends! Well it’s the second day of the new year and we are still in a deep freeze here in Michigan. The only way to combat the stir crazies I get  from being stuck inside is to throw myself into holiday crafting.

I’ve created a sweet and simple Gate Fold Valentine Card with Belly Band.  Make sure to scroll to the end of the post for the video tutorial on how I created this card.

I’ve decided on a non traditional color scheme here to coordinate with the holiday bingo card.  With the band on you can see that there’s loads of paper layers and die cuts.

Sliding the band off to reveal the gate fold. I used the bingo card to overlap and add extra detail.

The inside is finished with coordinating patterned papers and is so so sweet with the die cut heart doily.

Hugs & Kisses Valentine Greeting Card

Hey there Peeps and welcome to 2018!!!!! First day of the year and first day of the month which means I’m sharing my first project created with the new January Ribbon Club Valentine Mix.

This is the most yummy collection of Valentine inspired ribbons and trims  so perfect for your holiday and shabby chic projects.
I’ve created a vintagy inspired greeting card ….

Isn’t this just the dreamiest??? The heart balloon in the image were the inspiration for this card.

This combination of die cuts and patterned papers is so festive : )

Altered chipboard and tiny word stickers here to make a multi layer sentiment.

A simple and sweet bow created with the lovely pink ribbon is layered over lace and topped off with a glittery brad.

What’s better than a pretty paper doily? A pretty paper doily layered over a die cut doily of course!

I’ve added sequins and Prills here to add a bit of sparkle and shine.

Trio Of New Cards

I’ve been enjoying this sunshiny day by making some sweet new cards!

The first card if super shabby and vintage. I made the birdy by covering a nice large chipboard shape with a bingo card image.  I added way to many layers of dreamy colored papers and a gimongus ribbon bow with flower center. Lot’s of ink too and pearly accents to finish it off.

Next is a Valentine Card with a traditional color scheme…but the patterns are more whimsical for an updated vintage look. The sweet little cherub is an image from Graphic’s Fairy. I layered her on top of a cut out from a sheet of My Mind’s Eye paper.

Last but not least. This final card is my favorite of the day. I started with a brown craft paper base and layered on lovely patterns from M.M.E. There is a nice little detail accent with the border punched strip. The vintage image is from Graphic’s Fairy. I framed it with a dimensional chipboard that i painted, inked and stamped. I finished off the top of the frame with creamy ribbon and a coordinating flower with two beautiful glass headed pins from Maya Road. This is centered on a generous length of lace trim from Webster’s pages. All the inking was done with Walnut Distress ink from Tim Holtz and the stamping was done with chocolate ink from Stampin Up. I just love how this card turned out. Hope you all are having a sunshiny day too!!!
