Standard

Well hello there Peeps and happy Llama Day! Hahah . I’m sharing a super sweet mini album I created with Alpine by Authentiqe and let me tell you how much I love this collection!!! Llamas and plaid. What’s not to love?

Awwwww look at that sweet llama.  The image is the inspiration for this album. It’s layered up with the patterned papers, die cuts, flowers, ribbon, twine, chipboard, sequins, pearls, and fun winter themed charms.

The images here are the cut aparts and they are so fun. I wanted to keep the whole image and still have room for pictures and journaling so I added them as tip-ins.

Once the tip-ins are folded out you can see the first pages also have pockets with large tags.

These pages also have pockets but they’re on the sides. More tags to pull out created with the companion patters. I wanted to use this sledding image here but it was too wide. The solution  was to clip it into 2 sections then add it as two pieces. I love how it turned out!

It’s so much fun to create interactive pages. These have twist tie closures. You can see here now that we’re in the middle pages that I’ve added eyelets to the spine. Not only does this give me a place to tie on the charms….but it helps the book pages to be nicely  secured.

Once the flaps are open it shows the complimentary patterns inside. What a great place for pictures and journaling.

I just can’t get enough of these fun images so I used them to create pockets for more pull out tags. The smaller matted sections would be a great place to add memories.

The last set of pages have fun little flaps secured with clips. Simply flip the flap to reveal more area to scrapbook in.

Lining them with coordinating papers makes them extra fun.

Larger tags are tucked into the pockets and also fold up so you can add even more pictures.

The World is a Canvas Greeting Card with Graphic 45 Nature Sketchbook Video

Standard

Hey there all my Peeps! I’m excited to share that I’m starting my New Years crafty goal for 2018 which is trying different color combinations and design styles.  This card has a blue and green color scheme which is a bit outside my comfort zone…but I love how it turned out! I’m using the Nature Sketchbook Collection from Graphic 45 which is one of my favorites.

It’s sooooo green lol.  Just kidding…I really do like it.

The idea behind this card was nature which was easy to accomplish using this collection.

These Wild Orchid Crafts are dreamy. I did not hold back with the layering lol. There is a sweet little fussy cut butterfly tucked in and pretty chevron striped bow to fill in this arrangement. A bit of netting adds texture.

Prills help to bring the colors in to the center focal image which is a cut apart from the collection. I just love the sentiment.

This corner has a larger butterfly, more of the flowers and netting, and gold twine tied in a simple loopy bow.

This clip was given a face lift with alcohol ink and now it coordinates perfectly! The chipboard frame is finished with antique gold embossing powder for a subtle shine. A bit of messy sewing lines adds texture to the patterned paper.

The edges of the papers are all distressed and scrunched up which is a subtle..but effective accent. Look at all the dimension I was able to get with the layers.

The World is a Canvas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio G45 07 I’d say this is a good start to my new crafty goal. No pink in sight lol.

Oh My Goodness…

Standard

My Sweetie brought in the mail when he came home from work yesterday and GUESS WHAT I GOT????

My order from Really Reasonable Ribbon : ) Yayy Woo Hoo.

Good thing I didn’t know it was there earlier…or I would have never gotten any work done heehee.

So that’s like 120 yards+ the Purple August ribbon club assortment and 30 bitty bags. I AM SWOONING. I get to add this to my already large selection I have from RRR of my favorite seam binding for cards and projects. I’ll be taking this to the shop today and hopefully I won’t have to fight off Jane for them haha.

I choose a few burlap, a few lace, many seam binding, some wrinkle ribbon, chevron, twine, Halloween, bitty bags ( can’t wait to use those), netting, ruffles, and the ribbon club assortment that I will be using for one of my Guest Design Team posts.

If you haven’t had a chance to check them out ….you will be pleasantly surprised at how great their prices are…and huge selection. They ship the same or next day…I was surprised at how quickly my order arrived.

Okay…off to get ready to run to the post office then work. I’ll be in a big ol happy camper ribbon pile before you know it! Hope you all have a wonderful day and find some time to be creative.

Bee-u-ti-ful Jane Day

Standard

So you all know how my dear friend Jane brings me challenge objects. Little items to work into projects to test my creativity.  Anything from spoons to feathers. Well this week that little stinker brought me tiny peat pots and ballerina pink paint. Yeah…I know. What the heck am I gonna do with a peat pot????

I submit for your approval the”Let it Bee” Collage.

I constructed the shadow box with recycled check boxes. Covered in craft brown paper and well inked strips of Graphic 45 papers. I lined the inside with Pink Pailsee. I love the typography and music.

The pea pot is covered in strips of paper from My Mind’s Eye that are inked with Tim Holtz Wild Honey then aged with Walnut ink. I cut it in a simple wave pattern..then offset the layers. A little braided twine to cover the raw edge. The cute little door is a chip element simply inked and edged with a topaz bling strip.

The vintage bee hive and bee images are from Graphic Fairy : ) It’s framed out in painted and inked chipboard then topped off with pretty coordinating rose image. I layered in a bit of crimped craft paper for texture and a mailing tag. Two buttons and a tiny yo-yo element donated by the aforementioned Jane are simple and sweet finishing touches. Just for a bit of whimsy I included a very fancy metal embellishment with a cheeky sentiment “BUZZ”

I wrapped the paper around the back of the pot…so no unfinished edges. I love how dimensional this is : ) I used some braided twine with knots to cover the corners where the naked box was showing.

Okay…so here I am thinking the challenge is met. But then Jane says” what about the other half of the pot?” Yikes!!!!

Don’t forget to view our post from May 6th to check out how you can enter our fabulous giveaway to celebrate our first month in our new shop location! This prize has a ton of great paper crafting goodies and embellishments…you don’t want to miss out : )

Time to Cowboy Up !!!

Standard

Yep it’s time for another Tuesday post of my fun time with Jane. I really do chit chat way too much to get very much done lol. Some days we need that though….don’t you agree??? No pressure, no deadline, no stress. Just playin paper with a very dear friend.

This card has all my usual details…only with a really great vintage cowboy theme.

This western image was found on Graphic’s Fairy. I knew right away that I would use a nice wood grain paper to pair with it. There’s a few more layers of My Mind’s Eye and Cosmo Cricket papers…well inked of course.

I trimmed these flowers and layered them with a fun brad with a metal border….reminds me of the feel of an old belt buckle. The larger folded embellishment keeps it from being too girly and the addition of a simple twine knot is a nice finishing detail.

The sentiment was trimmed from the sheet of Cosmo Cricket paper….inked and stacked vertically to fill in what might otherwise be negative space. The ticket image is also from Graphic’s Fairy. I found these two great little buttons that looks a lot like wood grain. Last but not least….Dusty Attic chipboard barbed wire. I love how it helps give dimension.

So that’s it for another Jane Day : ) Hope you all enjoyed your day as much as I did!!

Early Bird

Standard

Morning to all. I know this is early for me to post…but I’m a busy little bee today I  don’t want to forget or run out of time.

Still playin with my London Market goodies. This is a really sweet card with a ton of details. The papers are all from Pink Paislee. This whole line matches and works together beautifully.  I cut some lovely scallops for a girly look.

Anything with flowers and banners and birds is for me!!!! Put all three into one project and I am in love.

I inked the already ready already banner pieces from the ephemera kit and added a ruffle of doily at the top. They’re strung on twine for a natural look and finished off with some pretty little hand painted roses is a pale creamy beige.

More of the painted flowers : ) Just a little added fiber to soften the edges. I really love the spool tops with the coordinating decals. I’ve been using them in place of buttons. I did add an additional button to round out this corner.

Okay that’s all for me today….gotta get going running errands. A few final measurements from the shop and move in a few items so we can get to work this weekend. Yayyy. I should mention that I am really  grateful for all the time and hard work from my little family crew. I couldn’t do it without them : ) If I have time later I might give you all a little sneak peek picture before we move everything in.
