Merry Traditional Santa Greeting Card

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share a card I created to get a jump on the  Christmas projects I need to prepare for the holiday.   There’s never enough time when you’re cooking and shopping and decking the halls.

Merry Traditional Santa Greeting Card

Merry Traditional Santa Card 1The background for this card is an embossed and inked crème colored cardstock with layers of altered chipboard pieces, vintage Santa image, flowers, ribbon and berry picks.Merry Traditional Santa Card 4I created some sweet little windows with the 4 Panel Square Window Set.  Just a quick base coat of flat white acrylic paint and a little inking on the edge then adhered to velum and given a faux icicle effect.  Victorian Corners 2 were given a quick heat embossing with white embossing powder then attached to the corner of the window frameMerry Traditional Santa Card 3The Brick Wall texture helps to fill the corner and creates a nice base for the Medallions Stars.
A pair of coordinating flowers added under and over the corner of this vintage digital image are a nice finishing touch.Merry Traditional Santa Card 2I added a nice collection of flowers and glittery branches and berries along with polka dotty ribbon, burlap twine, and a stamped sentiment.

Traditional Styled Jolly Santa Banner

Standard

Have you ever found a trim that was just so right you had to have it???? Then create an entire project around it??? Yep me too lol.   For me it was this candy cane striped tinsel trim….swoon…loved it….had to have it!!!!! So it inspired me to create a super sweet traditionally styled Jolly Santa Banner.  For the Tuesday Chicks…..surprise….this is what we are making in class next week. You better be ready to work!!!!

IMG_2592IMG_2588IMG_2587IMG_2589IMG_2594I started with pretty paper patterns, added loads of Stickled vintage images, clothes pins, clips, bows, and the fabulous tinsel trim!!!! Thanks for the suggestion from Peep Bobbie for a traditional project : )  I really love how it turned out…..especially  how it looks hanging over the cream colored bead board of the bookcase at the end of the island in my kitchen.

There are a limited number of kits available for those of you want to create the banner but can’t make the class. Click the Etsy link to hop over to the listing.

I’ve used lovely ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon for these bows…Totally Twill in Red and Chevron Satin in Red and White. Some of the vintage images I’ve used are from The Graphic’s Fairy.

Okay that’s it or today…..I’m off to prepare to join our family and friends to watch our Niece Crystal become the wife of her soul mate Brad.  Should be a lovely ceremony and reception. I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G
