Beautiful Bees Creativity Kit 2017 and Projects

Hey there Peeps! Whose ready for a fabulous new Creativity Kit. I am. I am . I am.  I do so love to make up a kit then treat myself to one so I can get my craft on. This time it’s a Bee theme….so I’m even more happy.  Andddd to make it even more funner I’ve added kraft and black paper doilies, Bakers twine, wooden clothespins, a large Graphic 45 Staples tag, and a super fun coin envelope.Here’s a look at the projects I was able to complete with this Beautiful Bees Creativity Kit 2017…..

Monochromatic Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon

Time for another fun challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon! This time the theme is Monochromatic and Ribbon or Trim.  I created a very purply Birthday card and added layers of patterned papers, gorgeous ribbon .

This ribbon is Satin Swiss Dots on Grape and it’s too perfect!

I got into my stash of Graphic 45 for these purply papers. Matted with grape colored cardstock to tone down the busy patterns.

The card is finished inside with coordinating papers.

Scrumptious flowers from Petaloo. Botanica Blooms Lav/Purple, Faux Dried Mini, Chantilly Velvet Hydrangeas Violet.

These lovely Scribble Frame Butterfly chippies were easy to alter with a Spectrum Noir pen and some Stickles. I added some Prills also to finish off this card.

It’s Your Birthday Cupcake Card

Hey Peeps! Happy 1st of the month to all of you. You know it’s my favorite day since I get to share my first project with the new Ocean Breeze Ribbon Club Assortment.

These soft dreamy colors reminded me of sherbet…..so I was naturally inclined to make a card with something sweet on it.

It’s Your Birthday Cupcake Greeting Card

I really tried for a CAS card….but I think I may not have achieved it.  Oh well it’s CAS for me. I started with a fun cupcake stamp on coordinating papers to the ribbons.  The frosting has 2 layers of stamped images with Foam Tabs between for dimension. I added some Sugar Glitter Paste , a few sequins, and colored in the cherry with some Sparkle Pen.  It’s all layered on a small oval die cut that helps to separate the busy patterns.

 

This bow has 2 of the ribbons stacked and  topped off with a vintage button. The sentiment was cut into the shape of a banner and given Foam Tabs to pop it up. Those sweet little Pearly Stars are the perfect subtle accent.

 

A border in darker pink helps to anchor the lighter patterned papers. I’ve stitched around the card to add a bet of detail and finished the card on the inside with a coordinating pattern of paper.

Okay..a little more practice and maybe I’ll be better at Clean and Simple…but for now I quite like this card and I’m now obsessed with plaid frosting!!!

We’re kicking off the summer holiday season with a fabby new Stars and Stripes Patriotic Creativity Kit!!!! So many festive paper patterns, vintagy images and prettied bows. Of course I got into one and whipped up some projects…because that’s what I do lol.  I have created 2 full sized cards, 2 large tags, 2 house tags (my favorite), and 2 wall hangings. There is a good sized stack of leftovers too so I can create some tags and labels for home made goodies for the holiday.

OMGoodness you guys I love all these projects. I started with the kit and added cardstock and bits and pieces from my stash.  I admit I did dye my hands blue and glue myself to the table….but hey it’s all part of the process right?

Spring Bird Card for Petaloo

Hey there  Peeps!  Ginny here to share a very springy and just a little bit vintage and shabby all occasion greeting card.  The inspiration was a lovely bird image with coordinating pattern papers that just called out to have a garden of flowers added to accent it.

I just love the soft pinks and wood grain together. I added a white die cut doily to brighten it up just a bit.

Multiple layers of matting helps to separate the patterned papers and provide a sturdy base to add oodles of gorgeous flowers.

Petaloo has so many lovely flowers that it’s very easy and fun to match up blooms to your projects.

Tucked in under more flowers at the top is a sweet little bird nest charm with pearly accents because cards need a little bling to be extra awesome.

Since this card turned out to have such a lovely nature inspired look I added a bow created with burlap and a little border of pink lace.

CAS Butterfly Greeting Card Set

Hey Peeps. Well I’m going CAS today. I know..it surprised me to. When I got my supplies out to create cards all the fun little images and die cuts just fell into place and I thought why not? Everything doesn’t need to have flowers and chippies and embellies. Sometimes you just need a quick card that’s good for any occasion that can be mailed in a regular sized envelope right?

 

I had a fun time mixing some vintagy patterns of paper with some that were just a bit edgy and on trend. Layers of die cuts, RRR trims, and simple pearly accents create loads of detail.

All or Love Vintage Beach All Occasion Greeting Card

Hey there Peeps! I’m sharing a card today with a vintage beach theme that is near and dear to my heart. Our little family loves the beach so much we spend our Christmas holiday there.  A little sand….a little surf. IHOP(for those not in America IHOP is International House of Pancakes) for Christmas dinner. What could be better?

I think these warmer tones of blue and kraft adds to the vintagy effect.

The shells and sand dollars make a great accent and work well to fill in the flower arrangement.

A scribble frame in a circular shape breaks up the square edges.

Tucking in some cheesecloth gives the effect of netting…a natural choice for a beach card. I love the texture it adds and helps to fill in the arrangement.

The bow has white stitching and helps to break up the dark blue satin.

Last but not least…..some coordinating Prills to give the effect of  water.

These chippies were fun and easy to alter to coordinate with the vintage beach theme....

1. The bare chipboard was wiped down to prepare for finishing. 2. Flat white acrylic to top off the scribble frame and gold to base coat the shells and sand dollars. 3. Crackle medium is added to the sand dollars and once dry a thin coat of white acrylic. Stamping on the frame and a bit of inking. 4. Distressing the edges makes the elements pop.

Patriotic Tags for Anything But a Card Challenge

Hey there! It’s time again for another fun challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon. The theme this time is Anything but a Card with Ribbon or Trim.  I’ve created a pair of fun and festive and very patriotic tags…..which are the perfect addition to any summer holiday home décor.

I was inspired by these sweet little wooden hearts painted out with a chalkboard finish with a dash line edging. What a perfect base to add the embellies to.

Of course you have to have a double layer bow and this one has itty bitty stars squeeeeeee.

The sentiments are actually layered stickers. They have great dimension and a vintagy Americana feel.

I used spacers to add extra depth and allow room to secure the twine that’s added to the tag.

This tag is similar…but has a different sentiment.

The base of this tag is 110 lb cardstock with a rich blue and polka dot pattern layered on top. The back is finished in a coordinating pattern.

A double layer of doilies because you can never have enough of those…..along with matching flowers, pearly accents and iridescent stars.

Last but not least…..extra squishy tinsel topped crepe fringe.

When in Doubt Wing It Art Canvas

Hey Peeps! I’m sharing great little art canvas today that just flat out reminds me that you gotta keep moving forward even if you have to pretend you know what you’re doing.  Which is me pretty much most of the time lol.

Isn’t this just so sweet? I’ve hung on to this little bird image for a while waiting for just the right project and I’m so glad I did.  Love her little crown : )

There’s perfectly coordinated flowers here with twine and berries mixed in to make a lovely little arrangement.

Altered chipboard creates the base and I’ve added real vintage buttons, a metal flourish and of course a poofy bow.

This is canvas stretched on a wood frame so it’s quite dimensional. I’ve wrapped the  ribbon around to give the edges a nice finished look.

Happy 4th of July Wall Hanging

Happy 1st of the month peeps! Just dropping in to share my first project with the new Patriotic Assortment Ribbon Club Selection.

 

This will be perfect for all the summer holiday projects! Great solids with fun and festive patterns!
I created a wall hanging just because I was in the mood to make extra bows lol.

Stars and stripes are my favorite Americana themed patterns. I die cut the base and added layers of 110 lb cardstock to ensure that it would be nice and sturdy.

The focal image is a digital tag from my shop Patriotic Tags Collage. It’s got a metal eyelet with thick twine pulled through and glass glitter stars peeking out from behind.

Coordinating flowers are layered in with Spiral Stamens and a large chipboard sentiment.

The crisp white paper doily works great to break up the busy patterns.

Isn’t this bow fabulous??? There’s a solid taffeta with the satin quatrefoil on top then twine and last but not least an epoxy patterned brad.
