January Blog Hopping with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hey there Peeps and welcome to another fun hop brought to you by the designers here at Really Reasonable Ribbon!

This time around we’re sharing the projects we created with the January Ribbon Club Assortment Sweetheart Mix. It really is sweet don’t you agree?

10764-sweetheart2bmixYou should be coming to me from my very dear friend Gloria. If you just joining in you’ll want to go to the RRR blog to start at the beginning.

I created a Valentine Pocket for the simple matter that I loved all the ribbons and wanted to use them all. The tags feature my Schoolhouse Vintage Valentine Digital Collage Images and they are a perfect match to the ribbon assortment.

Blog Hopping with Petaloo and Authentique

Hey there Peeps! Well it’s my turn today to share the projects I created with the gorgeous flowers from Petaloo and the fun and festive patterned papers from Authentique.

I’m using Burlap Poinsettias  to accent the Classic Christmas for this very vintagy card.

The berries add a nice bit of sparkle and contrast nicely with the burlap and velvet leaves.

Tinsel trim and snowflakes are essential holiday embellishments and I’m using these items here to create a frame for the gorgeous Santa image. I added a bit of crackle medium to the image to make it look even more vintagy.

Glittery finished chipboard creates a lovely base for the sentiment block and is topped off with a tiny metal candy cane charm, twine, and clip.

These pretty patterned papers are the perfect paring for the gorgeous Petaloo Flowers.

I totally loaded this card with paper patterns but it’s not too crazy busy because I used solid red cardstock as borders.

Poofy bow, twine and bell along with a large glittery snowflake are added over stacked paper doilies and burlap ribbon trim. I gave Santa a little star wand to help him on his magical gift giving night.

Celebrating Christmas in Vintage and Retro Style

Hey there Peeps!  I just want to share how much I love Petaloo flowers and how versatile they are.  I’m sharing 2 projects today with very different styles but each accented beautifully with the Petaloo blooms. I’m even using the same paper collection. One project is very vintage inspired and one is in a retro theme.

Retro Happy Holidays Christmas Greeting Card

This card with a non-traditional color scheme has non-traditional flowers accented with a Glittered Star Pick.

I’ve tucked in a few Velvet Holly Leaves to fill in this arrangement.

These cute little metal skate charms and large altered chipboard snowflake tie into the theme so well and accent the vintage chipboard child image.

A few holiday embellishments like tinsel trim and printed ticket finish this card off with retro style.

Santa Bingo Vintage Christmas Greeting Card

This card is such a lovely combination of textural Regal Poinsettias and vintage images.

Pom Pom trim, seam binding and silver striped bakers twine add even more texture and detail.

I turned this ticket into a tag easily by punching a small hole in the top and threading in some twine and securing tiny red wooden spools.

Tucking an additional Poinsettia in behind the bingo card brings the arrangement into the top corner.

Retro Inspired Display for Vintage Camper

Hey there peeps! Well today I’m sharing a project with a bit of a story behind it. Last year our family purchased a retro camper. A 1966 Banner to be exact. I can tell you it’s been a real family project and labor of love to bring it back to life and we’ve been able to take it out for mini vacations, which is so awesome to get out in nature with the peeps.  Our theme for the camper has been retro 50’s diner. That’s a theme right? So we have been adding crisp white paint….aqua accents and chrome and lots of vintage inspired décor items. I created this little display hutch to hold a collection of small ceramics.

Camper Display Shelf 1

I super love the colors and retro patterned papers on the back of this hutch. I created the base with the fabulous Split Front Box.  Instead of assembling it to be a closable box…I secured the lid portion to the sides and treated it as a fixed unit.  I should note that I added a layer of thick chipboard to the back as well to help secure the sections.

Camper Display Shelf 2

Aqua and red are the colors and lightened  up with some crisp white.  I used regular acrylic paint which covered beautifully.   I’ve also included fun cork covered clips to secure postcards or smaller mementos.  The funky polka dot ribbon and birdie brads are a fun finishing touch.

Camper Display Shelf 3

This center box portion is nice and deep and I can add my new collection without worry that things will stick out and possibly get knocked over.

 Camper Display Shelf 4
The first addition to the collection came as a surprise gifty from my very lovely and generous friend Linsey Rickett. I love them so much they inspired me search for more vintage themed memorabilia. Camper Display Shelf 5
I couldn’t ask for a better color match and this just makes me all kinds of happy!!!!
Here is our little camper. I’m not sure we would have jumped into this project had we known in advance how much work it would wind up being. LOL but now we have a great little home away from home to make family memories in.   I should mention that my dear Hubby has done soooooo much to reframe the inside and build in new bunks and storage to adapt this little camper to meet the needs of how our family likes to live. The outside was painted by the previous owner in multiple shades of taupe and brown house paint…what were they thinking????? So my big project last summer was to scrape and sand all the old stuff off and now we have a super bright and cheerful and very retro home on wheels. I can’t wait to hang the new hutch inside!!!

Okay that was a long post for me huh???? Anyhoo..I’m wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G
