This scrumptious flowers arrangement has layers in shades of pink with a gorgeous butterfly tucked in.

Even without the tags inside this pocket is really lovely. You can see that there is room also to tuck in some mementos and favorite pictures to create an untraditional scrapbook project. What Mom wouldn’t want pictures of her little cutie pies???

The tags were designed to be similar but different incorporating the patterned papers with ribbon trim, crystal drops, painted chipboard, and of course more of the coordinating flowers and butterfly.

It’s no secret I’m a sucker for lovely little pockets chock full of tags. Not only is it a wonderful seasonal  decor item..but a thoughtful way to give gift cards to an entire  family. Simply add them to the tags and after they receive their gift..they can add pictures and journaling to the tags to remember the special holiday they  shared with you : ) These tags have sweet children with bunnies and lambs and flowers all layered on bright and cheerful paper patterns. I combined Precious Memories with Baby 2 Bride from Graphic 45 for the perfect amount of shabby and holiday.

French Chalkboard Labels Pocket with Tags

Standard

Hey there Paper Peeps! We’re knee deep in the summer activities schedule here and loving every minute of the warm weather!!! But a busy schedule will not keep me from my studio and this week I’ve created a lovely little pocket filled with tags. It’s a thoughtful way to present a gift card or filled with pictures and journaling for a not so traditional scrapbooking project. I used the beautiful trims from the July Ribbon Club Assortment “Black and White”

11392874_925024057549614_3902030953764272961_n

All the patterned papers I used were from my scrap and salvage box and the vintagy images are from my French Floral Chalkboard Labels Digital Collage Sheet.

Flora Pocket 1To top the tags I created bows from Black Checkerboard Satin, Black Sheer with 4 Thin Satin Stripes,  and Black Satin Swiss Dots.

Flora Pocket 8A pocket with the tags removed should look just as pretty so I finished the inside with coordinating polka dots.

Flora Pocket 2I used more of the Black Satin Swiss Dots and layered on some Barbara Crocheted Lace. The gorgeous flowers are from Petaloo..I just love them! I added an additional bow created with Chevron Striped Twill in Black.

Flora Pocket 3

The bows on the tags are finished with Wild Orchid Crafts Black Roses, and some sweet little charms and keys.

I really love my old school label maker and for this project the black tape was a perfect match. I layered the label with a glittery flowers and tag then anchored them with a metal clip.

Flora Pocket 5

The tags have more of the French Floral Chalkboard Labels on coordinating papers with bold graphic patterns.

Flora Pocket 6As you can see…a little accent with Stickles really helps the flowers pop and gives them a little sparkle.

Flora Pocket 7

I just love all the layers and textures on this pocket. It’s already gone to a good home and I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!
Okay that’s all for me. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

New Challenge at RRR Shabby Chic

Standard

The new challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon is Shabby Chic. They shoulda just called it the Ginny Challenge right??? I. Am. All. About. Shabby. But you already knew that right? So what does shabby chic mean to me? Old and new. Weathered and worn. City and country. Soft dreamy colors and flowers. And above all else…it must be feminine. And textures. So here is my project…I think I hit on every one of those.

IMG_2218Just a simple little pocket….but I dressed it up in a pretty rose patterned paper and some vintage images for the tags.  I added a crepe fringe with pearly accents, a few burlap flowers for texture, and beautiful button from the stash.  I created my bow with a double layer of Wrinkle Ribbon, Ivory and Pink. I toned down the pink with a little Distress Ink so it would look old. One last button on top. I used a bit of chocolate brown in the form of a circular reinforcing dot on my tags…I think it helps to anchor all the soft colors. Now to write some sweet nothings on the tags!

Now it’s your turn to whip up something Shabby and fabulous and hop on over to Really Reasonable Ribbon to enter your project in the challenge.

If anyone needs me today..I’ll be working away like a busy little bee on kits with a nice cup of tea and my little gray girl Lily by my side. Wonder what I can find on Netflix to keep me company while I work???

Hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative. G

Pretty Vintage Pocket and New Challenge from Let’s Get Shabby

Standard

I’ve created a very special little pocket full of tags with shabby chic patterned papers and vintage images for the new challenge  Let’s Get Shabby.

The theme this month is confetti. I had a difficult time finding confetti to purchase that would match a shabby chic theme…so I created my own by inking a vintage book page and chopping it up with multi blade scissors.

IMG_1454-001IMG_1457IMG_1458IMG_1456IMG_1459You should hop on over and check out the challenge…the prize is awesome and the projects made by the other DT members are just beautiful.

All the beautiful trims are from Really Reasonable Ribbon

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative: ) G
