Deck The Halls Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Happy December Peeps! I’m sharing a card I created with the new Back to Basics December Ribbon Club Assortment.

I was so happy to see this collection as I have some really fabby plaids that I’ve been wanting to use and the black ribbon coordinates perfectly!

I think the black ribbon was the perfect choice to anchor the red plaid.

Did I mention I like plaid? I am all about the plaid!

These gorgeous flowers are from RRR too. I’ve created a nice arrangement full of blooms and die cut leaves and glittery accents.

The sentiment is layered over a festive holiday die cut that reminds me a bit of chalkboard : )

I balanced the larger arrangement with a smaller second combination that accents the layered poofy bow topped with jingle bells.

Even though I was working on a busy background I wanted a little something extra so I included die cut borders in flat black. A few pearl are the perfect finishing touch.

Tag Bag for Gifts

Standard

I’m having so much fun creating projects with these great little covered tags. Today’s project is a gift to put a gift in.

I could see this little bag being re purposed into storage or decor for a craft room. I would use it to hold some lovely little bits of trim or lace : )

I used a sweet image from Karen at the Graphic’s Fairy and gave it a nice painted and inked chipboard frame. Layered over a pretty punched scallop and inked doily.  I was able to fit 4 of my light aqua tags here and the chocolate brown reinforcing circles really help anchor the light colors. There’s also a dreamy pale ribbon bow and gathered lace with vintage button. I finished this bag off with a little resin lock from Melissa Francis and some pearly accents on the scallops.

This little bag came with a super strong handle so it won’t a problem gifting something heavy in it.

The weather has been much nicer and warmer here and I really enjoyed spending some time outside after dinner pulling weeds out of my meager little planters. Wish I had more of a green thumb. I envisioned my curb appeal looking more like Better Homes and Gardens than Gardening for Idiots. Oh well….I’ll just have more time to work in our veggie garden right??? LOL

Well it’s another busy day ahead so I better get going. Hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy some time to be creative. G

Pretty Pocket & Jane Day

Standard

This was another fun day to play paper with my dear friend Jane : ) We did take a little break from the creativity to do a little shopping in the wonderful shops in downtown Dexter. I will take my camera to work tomorrow and get a shot of the fabulous new display rack I got for the shop. It’s super vintagey and beautiful. Jane was very patient to put up with my jibber jabber today as my mouth seemed to be working much faster than my brain…yikes.

I managed to complete only 1 project today but I think it’s pretty special. I used some of the sweet little tags I made Sunday.

This sweet little pocket has lot’s of embellishments on the front and 3 additional tags inside for journaling. Plenty of room in the pocket for pictures and mementos.

Jane will laugh as this is not the image I started with. lol. It is a lovely Graphic Fairy image of a vintage bird : ) I framed it with a painted and inked chipboard. I gave this little pocket plenty of layers of flowers, lace, pearly accents and ribbon. Of course I added a vintage button as well. There’s some sheer ruffled ribbon in a pale aqua. The paper I used is from Crate and a bit from My Mind’s Eye to make a punched scallop border. The finishing touch is a lock from Melissa Francis.

The boy’s are home from Scouts now so I better go get caught up. Hope you all have a wonderful evening. G
