Mother’s Day Card with Botanical Tea from Graphic 45

Standard

Well hello there Paper Peeps….what a thrill it was to receive the amazingly awesome Design Team Supply Box from Graphic 45. I am just amazed at their generosity!!!!  I find myself in the “Craft Vortex” this is the place where you don’t want to use any of the supplies because then you wouldn’t have them anymore….and wanting to use it all on one project lol! I started with a Mother’s Day card for my beautiful Mama in Texas.

IMG_3364IMG_3366IMG_3365Supplies I used to create this card:

Patterned papers from Botanical Tea from Graphic 45….Fauna….Love Notes….Botanical Tea…..Sweet Chamomile. I also used a tag from the Tags and Pockets Die Cut Sheet.

To create the beautiful poofy bows I used  Brown Plaid Ribbon  and  Light Blue Chevron Striped Twill from Really Reasonable Ribbon .

I used my Fancy Frames Cricut cartridge to cut out the scrolly frame then topped it of with a coat of Liquid Pearls in Bisq and sprinkled on a generous amount of Martha Stewart fine glitter.   Everything also got a good inking with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Oh and Stickels because you always have to have something sparkly right???

Okay I’m off to the shop to finish the card for my MIL.  And maybe break into the Halloween paper????? Yeah I know I’m weird that way : ) Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Mother’s Day Scarf Pin Tutorial

Standard

Hey there Paper Peeps!  I’m just dropping in to share a fun and easy tutorial to whip up some great little flower, lace, and burlap scarf pins. These make great little gifts for Mother’s Day too! Make up a bunch of these cuties to have on hand and you’ll be ready with a thoughtful handmade gift whenever you need one. Did I mention they’re easy????

IMG_3316

Isn’t that shabbylicious??? I think it would be pretty cute on a hat too!!!

Okay lets get started…..

IMG_3317I have 9 artificial fabric flowers….nothing to write home about….but I like the size and shape. I used my blending tool and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to give them some color. Next I added some Liquid Pearls in Bisque to the outer edges. While it was still wet…I sprinkled on Martha Stewart fine clear glitter.  You can also add a little Walnut or Gathered Twig Ink to antique it like I did in the finished pin.  You will also need some flower stamens….these I found in the cake decorating section. I layered three flowers and added three stamens to the center of each.

IMG_3319Cut a circle from chipboard or other stiff backing material. I used an antique file folder since they are very thick and sturdy.  Pierce a hole in the center.  Trim Burlap from the wired edge and cut a scalloped shape on one side. Pinch pleat and hot glue the burlap around making sure to cover the outside edge of the circle. Add a layer of Crocheted Lace trim next pinch pleating the same as you did with the burlap. This took 2 layers of each for the size of circle and flowers I chose….you may like more or less layers.

IMG_3320Begin pulling the stamens from the flowers through the center hole of the chipboard circle. You’ll want to add all three flowers before you secure the stamens on the back.

IMG_3321I just squished the stamens into slightly cooled hot glue….still hurt : (  You could also use a wet adhesive like E 6000 if you’re squeamish about burning yourself. Add the pin back now. I found them at the big box craft store…very inexpensive for a fairly large package. These came with an adhesive strip….but I don’t trust that adhesive….so I added hot glue before securing it to the pin.

Once you have everything secured….give the burlap a little haircut to remove any stray stringy bits and be sure to check for glue strings before gifting it to someone special : )

Okay I hope I’ve inspired you to create lot’s of these to give to brighten someones day! I’m wishing you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Sparkle, Bling and Ribbon

Standard

It’s time for a new challenge at RRR. This time the theme is Sparkle, Bling, and Ribbon. Sa-weet!!!!! I do love the sparkle : )

So here is my take on a bee-utiful Mother’s Day card. ( You didn’t seriously think I was done with the bee projects did ya??? )

IMG_1488IMG_1491

This card has a fun little tag to pull out. I thought it might be a fun place to add a gift card????

IMG_1495IMG_1497

I used some beautiful Seam Binding in Black and some Wrinkle Ribbon in Ivory that I inked in Wild Honey Distress Ink. There’s also a bit of inked Chevron on the tag. This sounds like a great challenge. Hop on over and check out the details so you can show off your Sparkle, Bling, and ribbon project too!

I’ve also added the Patriotic mini kits to the Etsy shop this morning.

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to sparkle! G

Layered Greeting Card

Standard

Yikes! Haven’t had much time to post this week. Working hard to get some Mother’s Day orders done in time. This card is one I made for my dear Mother : ) She really is the best! But Texas is too far away and seems to get further everyday. Miss and love you Mom!!!

I pulled lot’s of different elements to make this card. I really love the craft envelope from Maya Road. I layered it over pretty pale patterned paper from Glitz and an inked doily.

I filled the envelope with a few tags to give it a layered look.

I trimmed the sentiment from a sheet of Crate paper. To thank my Mom for everything she does to make my life happier. The sweet little vintage bee image is from Graphic’s Fairy. A few vintage buttons finish off this sweet card.

Just wanted to share these nice pics of the ol homestead with you. Lol. This is the “back 40”

I just love living in the country : ) Here is our new froggy friend. For some reason they want to live on our porch. This does not make the cats very happy!
