Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to my Peeps! Hope you all are looking forward to a fun filled day with lots of laughter and good times…and of course candy!!!!  We live out in the country and never have any trick-or-treators so it’s pretty low key here….maybe dinner and a movie. Also we have no candy…which is very sad : (

I’m just dropping in to share a festive Halloween card I whipped up that has handcrafted flowers and a great little holiday die cut.

I think that upside down owl is the cutest thing!!!!

Pretty sure I’m addicted to making plaid flowers. I’m using fancy brads for the centers here and I think they turned out spooktacular!

Sequins…check. Ribbon…check. Doily….check. Glitter stars….check. I’d say my work here is done!

All I want for Christmas Tag Set BoBunny

Hey there  Peeps! Ginny here to share a very sweet Christmas tag set. Carousel Christmas has fast become my favoritest holiday collection!  Creating with it has been such a joy.

All I Want for Christmas Tag Set

When I started, I really only planned to make one really large, detailed tag….but while the collection was on the work table I couldn’t help myself but to make two more.

 Must add all the layers!!!! So many great images to fussy cut (which I love to do by the way.) which gives such awesome texture and depth.

 Blingy bits and ribbon are a must have on all fun and festive tags!

 I used a fair amount of spacers to build up this arrangement and keep it from looking like a big hot Christmas mess.  The ephemera pack had lovely coordinating ribbons in two sizes and who am I to say no to ribbon? never gonna happen….  The larger bow is topped off with a Double Dot Brad.

 

I’ve added a die cut doily to soften the edges as well as a bit of cheesecloth.  A couple of sequins and some faux snow accent and this tag is ready to add to a gift or a tree.

 Did I mention bonus tags? These were really fun to create and even though they are smaller…they really pack a lot of punch with all the holiday details.

Grow Where You are Planted Halloween Decor Shadow Box Guest Design for Alpha Stamps

Hey there Peeps! So excited to be sharing the project I created as a guest designer for Alpha Stamps. They sent me oodles of fabby Halloween paper pretties and supplies and I just could not hardly wait to play.

I used  the Little Ghouls Kit from Alpha Stamps along with some bits and pieces from my stash to create this fun Halloween decor Shadow Box. The kit is chock full of vintagy images, patterned papers, holiday emebllies, and chipboard.

I created the shadow box itself with a basic chipboard frame and created boxes for each section then added it to a super sturdy base. The frame was then painted with crackle paint. Each section has a pattern of paper from the kit. These little moon  charms are really fun and make a great accent dangling from  bakers twine and adhered behind coordinating flowers.

Going with  a spooky garden theme I created bat flowers growing on copper stems with itty bitty buttons and charms added.  The little gardener chap has a wheelbarrow to harvest his crop and fanciful wings, altered chipboard gate, and a mossy field to plant in.

Additional holiday characters are displayed in their own environment with chippies, flowers, paper rosettes, sequins, and fun charms from Alpha Stamps.

Star garland and glittery strips add texture and brings the design out onto the front of the frame. The trick to adding layers of vintagy images is to include foam spacers for depth.

Halloween Greeting Holiday Wall Hanging

Hello there Peeps!  Well I’m in the full swing of Halloween here and I’ve got a great home decor wall hanging to share today.

I started with some fabby patterned papers with plaids and chevron….my favorites!

I used coordinating patterns to create flowers and gave them a blingy center.

Ribbon with a bold stripe is layered  with houndstooth  and topped off with a matching button.

More flowers for this side along with die cut leaves, twine, a metal key, and star garland.

Little owl chippie looks spookatcular perching on his  branch in the flowers. To dress the bottom I’ve added a lace-pom pom trim-tinsel arrangement and some actual vintage buttons.

A bit of Stickles and Prills to finish off this frightfully delightful decor.

Irish Charm Wall Hanging Holiday Decor

Happy Saturday Peeps!  We’re looking forward to an almost springlike day here in Michigan and I’m so happy for a bit of a warm up. I’m dropping in to share a sweet wall hanging I created for St Patrick’s Day with an image from the new Irish Charm Tags Digital Collage Sheet.

This charming Irish lass is perfect for layering with patterned papers, and lots of embellies.

There’s a glittery shamrock here with gorgeous flowers in shades of green. I tucked in some berry picks and twine to fill in a generous arrangement.

Loopy bows tied of chevron striped twill are topped off with bows of twine and vintage buttons. There is also a length of the ribbon to display on a peg or hook.

Chipboard altered with embossing powder and heat set creates a frame for the tag. I used spacers between the layers for depth.  I’ve got a fabby new thin striped washi tape that was perfect to add to the side of the tag  along with the enamel number plate and coordinating pearly accents.

I used a large die to cut the background with a border of  Celtic knots.  There are layers of 100 lb cardstock and printed scrapbook paper on the back for a finished look and for sturdiness.

Retro Easter Wall Hanging

Hey there Peeps!  I was waiting impatiently for a delivery yesterday so to make the time go a bit faster I created a new Easter Collage sheet full of sweet retro inspired images on striped tags. I was so smitten with it I had to print one out right away and create a project.

It’s pretty adorable if I do say so myself.  I used a burlap banner shape from Canvas Corp for the background and layered on a wood grain pattern and a bright and cheerful yellow stripe to coordinate with the printed tag.

A garden of white and yellow flowers layered over cheese cloth and a die cut banner.

Sweet bunny tag printed and raised with spacers. This allows space for an eyelet and twine and a little yellow clip.  There’s a polka dot die cut with actual vintage buttons and additional tiny blooms.

This wall hanging is easy to display on the tinsel hanger topped off with chevron ribbon and twine bows with more buttons.

I just love finishing off the tag with some carefully placed Stickles to accent the details.

Vintage Love Valentine Tag

Happy Wednesday Paper Peeps!  It’s just been terrible cold here in Michigan so I’ve hunkered down in the shop to keep warm and to create loads of Valentiny projects.

 

I’m totally into the black and pink color combination this year along with vintage images and trims from my favorite Ribbon place : )

Pretty flowers and pearly accents just feel so right on vintage projects….and Valentine ones too!

This Rose Petal Seam Binding is so lovely and makes the perfect bow along with some Natural Burlap String.

I don’t even know where to begin to tell you how happy this combination of stripes and polka dots makes me. It super girly combined with the florals and having spacers between the layers keeps the patterns from being too busy.

Spooky Halloween Wall Hanging Home Decor

Well hello there Paper Peeps!  I’ve been working on some handcrafted flowers this week and if I do say so myself….they turned out kinda fabby!  I used a few on this Halloween wall hanging….which is also fabby! Spooky Halloween Wall Hanging

For the base I started with a Graphic 45 Policy envelope and stuffed it with 110 lb cardstock so it would be extra sturdy then layered on the fun vintage images and paper patterns.

It can hang on the generous loop of coordinating polka dot ribbon finished off with a double layer of poofy bow.

Large rose and small gardenias are colored in orange and accented with Stickles. I’ve added black leaves and smaller black flowers to fill in along with some sparkly flower pics.

Such a serious looking raven. You’d think wearing a poofy neck ruffle and hat would cheer him up lol.

Some flourishes cut from back cardstock layered over the checkerboard pattern and spiderweb…..all on spacers for added depth. Spooky Halloween Wall Hanging

Liberty Village with Petaloo and Canvas Corp

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share a very festive and fun holiday décor creation using the fabulous DIY Flowers and Canvas Corp patterned papers.  I love to make projects in red, white, and blue since they can be displayed for all the summer holidays!!!

I’m calling this Liberty Village. A row of tiny houses all decked out in patriotic colors and fun trims.  It’ll be a great addition to my seasonal décor. My hubby is born on the 4th of July so we really go all in for this great holiday! And we get cake…so that’s a win win : )These little houses are only about 3 inches square ( before the roof.)  I was able to pack a lot of detail in a small space.All lined up they are the perfect size for a shelf. From this angle you can see how the tiny chimneys fit perfectly on the roof peak. I had to do math shudder.For this center house I added a few glittery stars on spingy wires nestled into the kraft packaging in the chimney. To finish the tops of the chimneys I added a small length of white lace wrapped around and stapled in place with a tiny staple. Coordinating lace on the bottom of the house is layered over burlap trim. This roof peak is all decked out with the DIY Flowers, Red Jeweled Flowers,  glittery branches and ribbon trim.  I sprayed the DIY Flowers with Fireworks Spray to match the chevron stripe in the paper. Tinsel trim on the underside of the roof makes it extra festive

Surprise!!! The roofs come off.  From this angle you can see I’ve tucked in another star clipped in with an itty bitty red clothespin.

Simply untie the red cord and the little house opens right up to reveal a vintagy image and 3 picture mats for displaying favorite summer pictures.I just love how the shades of red, white, and blue are all vintagy and not super bright.Each little house has a different image….but the same picture mats.

It will be fun to fill up these little houses with our pictures and memories. And we can enjoy them year after year when we decorate for the holiday.

Patriotic Projects and Creativity Kit

Hey there Peeps. Well despite our chilly weather and snowy forecast….spring has arrived and you know what that means? Yes. I have visions of summer holidays dancing in my head. And since the Fourth of July is my Hubbies Birthday I like to plan ahead and create lots of fun and festive decor items. I worked on these great patriotic creations this week using our new Patriotic Creativity Kit 2016. The best thing about Memorial Day and Fourth of July  holidays is that you can display your seasonal decor all summer!!    I pulled in some bits and pieces from my stash as well as some unexpected embellishments like bells and keys and was able to create 8 complete full sized projects. I’m sharing 7 today and one more tomorrow for my GSL post….
