Pirate Graduation Card

Hey Peeps! We’re starting a new Anything Goes with Ribbon or Trim Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Okay. I’m just gonna say it. This may be the coolest graduation card ever. At the least it’s the coolest one I have ever made. This card was gifted to an awesome young man who is a friend of our youngest Son and a fellow Boy Scout. We are super proud of him. He has a very bright future I’m sure  : ) Well done Zachery!!!

Did I mention it’s a shaker? And did I mention that I die cut and embossed those stars with a shiny silver finish? That’s how you an tell how much I like this young man.

I wanted the Pirate P to be inside the shaker…but I didn’t want it to get turned over or stuck in a carner so it’s secured in place with fishing line.

That’s one cool dude! we really have great school colors. Easy to find and work with and photograph.

Graduation Cards with Graphic 45 & Snapguide Tutorial

This is the time of year when you will be needing a lot of graduation cards.  I know we do!!! Maybe because we have one kiddo left at home who is a senior next year yikes.  Anyhoo….I just make up a big ol pile of them  and have them ready when the party invites start rolling in. We are the Pinckney Pirates and our school colors are black red and white….so it’s really just picking patterns that work together and mixing and matching them to create many cards with a similar style. I’ve also included some awesome chippies that simply colored in black to create a fun graphic pop.  I always try to incorporate the year as well…incase someone is saving them. Do high school kids save cards?? I’ve created a Snapguide tutorial….and you will be thrilled at how easy these were to create…just change out the colors for your school.

Go Pirates Graduating Class of 2014

Hey there Paper Peeps! It’s that time of year when the kiddos walk down the aisle to get their diplomas. I don’t have one in my house graduating this year….but we have some very special friends who do and we are so proud of them!!!! One of the blessing of living in a small town is that every kid is your kid….one big happy family. I created a card this year with some great subway styled art and fun pirate images for the Pinckney Fighting Pirates! I created many of the same card that will hopefully become a keepsake of their special day.

IMG_3601IMG_3602We have great school colors to work with….and I added just a nice little bow of Black Plaid Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I’m wishing them all a very bright future and I’m wishing you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

A little Thank You Gifty

As many of you know….our family just celebrated my oldest Son’s graduation and  Boy Scout  Eagle Rank Advancement….it’s been a super busy month getting everything ready for parties and out of town guests. I couldn’t have done it without a little help from my friends!!! Namely my beautiful Mother who flew in from Texas to work her little tail off….cooking for days : ) And to my Bestest best friend Heather for all she did to help…and for making my favorite ramen noodle salad. I made this little notebook for her in her favorite orange…it’s bright and cheerful…..just like her : )

I added a strip of  Natural Faux Burlap. Then I layered on the Orange Wrinkle Ribbon.

There’s also some sweet little chipboard flowers and a tiny blue butterfly. I couldn’t  resist adding the coordinating orange buttons…I know Heather will love them : )

The top of the jar image needed a little somthin somthin….so I dressed it with a bit of the new Lyndsey Crocheted Lace...nipped in to fit the contour of the jar.

I hope Heather will find lot’s of things she wants to write about in this little journal…or maybe just for grocery lists??? LOL Thanks again Heather for all you did to help make our big day even more special. We love you millions!!!! And just for a quick proud Mom moment….my little boy just graduated Magna Cum Laude and got a nearly full ride scholarship to Eastern University Honor’s College to study computer engineering. Who’s a proud Mom??? This girl !!!! LOL

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

May Blog Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Despite the chilly weather outside…I’m told it’s Spring…and that must mean it’s time again for another Blog Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This month we’re sharing our projects made with the fabulous Patriotic Ribbon Club Assortment.

This assortment is so great for me as the summer holidays are some of my favorite to celebrate since we are fiercely patriotic and  the 4th of July is my Dear Hubbies Birthday…and very soon we will be celebrating our oldest Son’s Eagle Scout Ceremony and high school graduation. I created my project to use as part of the decoration at his banquet. I’ve gotten a sneaky peek at some of the other designers projects and I have to say…I love them all.

Okay…let’s get hopping. You should be coming to Polly’s from the lovely and talented Misty. If you’re just starting here…..you need to click HERE to start at the beginning…then follow all the links to see the very inspiring projects created by the design team. Don’t forget to leave a little love for the fabulous projects!

IMG_1568This pic is my Son with his patrol. Such wonderful, respectful, helpful, reverent, incredible young men. I am super proud of all of them : ) I always have a stash of great papers to create patriotic projects. For this layout….I really wanted to add lot’s of dimensional embellishments….So I started with a very patterned paper….then chose to cover it with patterned velum to give me a neutral background….You can still see the flag through the velum which is printed with the Declaration.

IMG_1573This fun banner was created by layering lot’s of well inked stickers…then punching tiny holes and string them between fabulous bows made from the ribbon assortment. I added a bit of extra inked trim to the outside…to bring the color down to the corner.

IMG_1582For this little number….I started with a base of a very large folded cardstock rosette. Then layered on great little flags on picks, part of a cupcake wrapper, vintage Uncle Sam image. Some folded dimensional stars with lot’s of ink and glitter and blue pearly flourishes. There is also a several Brittania Candi Dots.

Your next stop in the hop is the wonderful GLORIA.

She is sharing a super creative project that I can’t wait to try out myself! Don’t forget to leave her a little love: )

Thanks for hopping along with us this month…I hope you enjoyed our projects as much as we enjoyed creating them!
