New Challenge at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog

Standard

Hey there Peeps. What a fun new challenge we have going this time at CHACB. The design team and I are sharing our Upcycled projects made with great supplies donated by our generous sponsor Canvas Corp  We all have lot’s of bits and pieces just waiting for a little love to turn them into fabulous treasure. I’ve chosen to upcycle a little chest that I liked the shape of…but the color???? Don’t even get me started on just how bad it was.

IMG_3742-001See I told ya it was bad. But it’s got these meshy parts….and a really nice shape. 1st step….shabby spray paint!

IMG_3746And here it is now! I’ve added a beautiful Damask printed canvas panel to the back from our fabulous sponsors at Canvas Corp. I can not tell you how much I love this printed canvas!!!!! I am going to put it on everything!!!

IMG_3749I just love how the Damask looks against the chippy paint. I was able to use a canvas bag that had originally came in the wire baskets I bought for my bakers rack to hold produce to line the inside of the chest.  You can see the bag through the mesh. I’m planning to use it in my studio to store envelopes and cad bases.

IMG_3743I used a little of the canvas fringe to create a pleated ruffle  to soften the edge of my flower arraignment…then started layering. The flower in the center if handmade by moi….some have a sparkle…some are buff colored. I used several White Wild Orchid Spiral Stamens, and Antique Metal Door Pulls from Graphic 45 to anchor the light colors.

Okay now it’s your turn to get your craft on and upcycle a fabulous project then link up to play along with us in challenge 13 at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog. The prize for this challenge is amazing…..wish I could play along lol.

I invite you to stop on over and check out the projects shared by my fellow teamies…they are gonna knock your socks off!

Donna,Glenda,Gloria,Karen, Pam, Tammi, Amber,Christy, Debbie,Jan, Kathy.

Okay that’s all the break I get today….back to the kitchen remodel….I’m in the homestretch….hopefully this will be the last day.  I’m wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative.

French Country Shadow Box Collage with Graphic 45

Standard

Good morning Paper Peeps!  I hope you are enjoying your holiday so far….I know my kiddos have enjoyed having Spring Break the week before Easter! The weather is finally showing some signs of warming up and the grass is starting to get green….now if only the leaves on the trees would come out : ) I’m dropping in this morning before I head to the shop to share a shadow box collage I created yesterday. I am cra-zy over making shadow boxes now!!!

IMG_3292I used French Country patterned papers from Graphic 45 as well as some beautiful clock images from A Proper Gentleman. The box itself is 10×10 and I had so much fun layering in all the fussy cut images…and of course there is like elebenty hundred foam spacers so I could build in a lot of depth.

IMG_3293These colors are so warm and sunny. I used the clocks and the sunflowers to anchor the bottom corners. It never ceases to amaze me how well the papers from different lines coordinate so you can mix and match them to make your projects very unique.

IMG_3294

I added a striped scallop border to the box then layered on the border strip that came on the sheet. It suited my project better to arrange the stripes in a different order…so I trimmed them out and flipped them around so I would have the dark edge up against the stripe to keep it from being pattern overload.

IMG_3295

I am crazy about how this clock turned out.  I added some inked Dusty Attic chippies the layered on more of the sunflowers and leaves and clocks.

IMG_3296

All along the top of the box I layered in fussy cut images with tags and more of the foam spacers. There are also lots of cricut cut scrollys that I worked in.  To finish off this corner….a sweet banner hangs from Licorice Bakers Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

IMG_3297I cut doubles on the stamp images so I could add an extra spacer and roll up the corners.

IMG_3298This shadow box is very very very very dimensional! This has become my new favorite project : )

Okay…that’s all for me today…gotta get to the shop to see what kinda trouble I can get into! Wishing you all a happy and productive day and lot’s of time to be creative : ) G

French Label Freebie Images

Standard

I was trying very hard to work this morning with all my Peeps snug in their beds….but my shockingly small attention span is getting the better of me. I did manage to come up with 3 pretty little French tags. I’m just going to share them as freebies to save myself from having to finish the whole collage sheet lol. freebiefrenchlabelI think I’ll print a set for myself and use them to decorate a burlap covered recycled can and use them to hold my pens and pencils in my craft room. These freebie images are for your personal use only. Do not reproduce these images in a collage sheet or sell items you make with them : )

I think I’ll wait for the coffee to kick in before I try to be productive again : ) Until then I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

Buzz Buzz Another Bee Card

Standard

Here’s another Bee card…..I’m all a buzz about this one. Okay….there’s just soooo many bee jokes right???? I have to use them!!!

IMG_1500I haven’t really got caught up in the ” KEEP CALM and” trend….but when I saw this sweet image….I couldn’t resist. All the patterned paper layers came from the scrap and salvage box. Who’s a frugal crafter????? THIS GIRL!

IMG_1501There’s an oh so sweet little bee charm hanging from the Ivory Wrinkle Ribbon bow . I’ve also added burlap leaves and a large creamy pale rose. The trims are from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

IMG_1502There’s a fair amount of patterns here…..so I used a well ink yellow to separate and stay in the bee theme. I love those two tiny clips at the top of the tag.

IMG_1507Here’s a close up of the flowers : ) I just love how it turned out!!!

Okay..that’s it for me. I have to buzz off now to get the kiddos ready for school and me ready for work : ) LOL

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to BEE creative : ) G

With Reckless Abandon

Standard

My usual creative style is to have every little element thought out ….inked, stamped, layered, and then it’s ready to assemble. Yesterday I had an afternoon of less structured crafting. I glued without planning, inked without analyzing, trimmed with enthusiasm, and stamped with reckless abandon. It’s a sweet little album…or is it a journal??? Not quite sure yet.

IMG_1341I used some very large old flash cards for my base. They were covered with Sesame Street patterns…not quite vintage yet. The inspiration was a beautiful tag from Ephemera’s Vintage Garden.  There are several in the book. Some of them I Stickled…some of them I trimmed out of larger images. I think they are very shabby chic. I also Stickled the large stamped frames.

IMG_1334Inside the book is a mish mash of different pages….and tag flaps. I embellished with butterflies, and words. The beautiful yummy ribbon is cream seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I’m so glad I created the vintage image organizer from last weeks post….finding all the right images was a snap.

IMG_1335This will be a nice place to add a picture or memento.

IMG_1336As you can see…I’ve used Tissue Tape to attach the pages. I wasn’t confident that it would hold up to lot’s of handling…so I peeled it up and added a layer of Scor-Tape. Can’t even see it. Now this little book will be extra sturdy.

IMG_1337This set of pages has a craft paper envelope to be filled with loads of paperie goodies or pictures.

IMG_1338IMG_1339IMG_1340

So that’s what I get for a day of free form creating. I kinda love how it turned out : ) It will look even better filled with pics and journaling. Maybe I’m on a roll? We’ll see when I get to the shop. I should mention that the workspace in the shop is a complete disaster : / Is that normal for reckless crafting???

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive and reckless day and find some time to be creative : ) G

Graphic 45 Vivre Album

Standard

Hello all!! I’m so excited to share this very special project I created this week.  There’s lot’s of pictures….so grab a cup of tea and settle in.  As you all know I’ve taken delivery of 2 huge boxes of super beautiful G45 papers for the shop and I’m having myself a good ol time playing with them.

IMG_1210

So the back story of this Vivre Album is that it began life as an antique law book. I removed all the insides and painted it black to enhance the warm paper patterns.

IMG_1212I added a braided chain to the key and hung a lovely metal heart fob. All the black roses were hand painted and glittered. All the yellow flowers were cut from G45 scrap paper and inked and layered.  Behind the flowers I’ve added beautiful black netting for texture.

IMG_1216I’ve incorporated the Medium Tag Book which you’ll see gives me pockets on the inside….and on the outside it’s beautiful tabs.

IMG_1218The inside cover has a lovely harlequin pattern and a tag from the French Country line. I’ve finished the tag off with Natural Burlap trim with black accent and black seam binding. You can see how the pockets work now…..with tags for additional for journaling  and mementos.

IMG_1220IMG_1221I used the pages from the original law book to create really chunky thick pages with a lovely tattered edge. The inside pages are finished off with coordinating paper patterns and trimmed butterflies.

IMG_1222IMG_1224There’s a second pocket page with additional tags.

IMG_1228IMG_1229Here’s a better view of the pockets. I adhered them to a coordinating paper pattern to ensure they stay extra sturdy.

IMG_1225IMG_1226IMG_1227IMG_1235Keeping the tattered edges on the book papers helps to give this album an amazing fullness and texture.

So that’s my very special Vivre Album.  I hope you love it as much as I do : )

All papers for this album are from Graphic 45. They are all available in the shop. All trims are from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative.  : )  G
