This card is so bright and cheerful. And for me it’s almost a traditional color scheme. Several layers of patterned papers here with a chartreuse matting. I’m using the die cut doily to frame the festive snow globe image.

Buttons and tinsel trim are joined by flowers and ribbon and die cut holly leaves to create the perfect accents for this fun holiday card.

Really Reasonable Ribbon~ Wavy Vertical Stripe in Red, WOC Red Cherry Blossoms, Scor-Tape, Tombow 3D Foam Squares.

Okay that’s all for me. Wishing everyone a happy and productive day : ) G

Vintage Easter Assemblage for Class

Standard

This week my girlies wanted to create a 3d type Easter project and I’m only happy to oblige : ) How could I possible say no to my Peeps???

IMG_2885I assembled this 3d project on a base of a super sturdy particle board plaque with a great hanger on the back : ) I added a vintage sheet music page and layered on all the goodies : )

IMG_2894There’s a paper mache box in the corner ( donated by Sassy Linda), I gave it a good paint job and ink..more sheet music, a beautiful scrolly frame with tag, buttons, nest, and crepe fringe.

IMG_2895I added a shredded craft paper nest to the tiny tart tin and 3 sweet little speckled eggs in the nest. A sewn crepe rosette is topped off with a pretty vintage image to carry the soft pink up out of the box.  Fun banner of tags in the top corner : )

IMG_2892I used a Tim Holtz clip to add the vintage postcard image to the inked doily. On top is a fun bingo card, bunny in the best shabby color, tickets, burlap bow, hand crocheted flower and another Tim Holtz pin.

I think we are going to have lot’s of fun creating these shabby chic Easter wall hangings : ) If we don’t glue ourselves to the table that is lol : )

If you’re just getting started….you need to click Here to start at the beginning. Otherwise you should be hopping here from the lovely and talented Misty

Okay…here’s the project I created using the assortment:

IMG_2434-001This card has soooo many glittery inked and chipboard elements. As you can imagine I was quite a mess working on it!

IMG_2429I really thought the Silver Satin Ribbon coordinated perfectly with my shabby chic theme. I made one nice loopy bow and topped it off with Baker’s twine in oyster. Then in the center I added 2 long crystal topped pins that I embellished with snowflakes and 3 painted and glittered tiny jingle bells. Swoon.

IMG_2430I crinkled up the top layer of paper for texture and added the chunky chipboard snowflake that I painted and inked then topped with tinsel glitter. Last but not least a pretty little vintage button.

IMG_2431-001There’s a paper rosette that I inked…and dry brushed and Stickled along with a larger chunky chipboard snowflake. I topped it off with a lovely little printed tag donated by a dear friend. The little button on the tag and snowflake were from her too : ) Thanks a bunch.  Notice how I dry brushed the bottom paper pattern in white to give it a whispy snowy effect?

IMG_2433After last weeks Halloween Banner glitter mess I swore I wasn’t going to be glittering any letters anytime soon…but….I just couldn’t resist. I elevated these numbers on foam to give them some dimension. The sweet little lace border is Catherine White Crochet Lace.

IMG_2427-001Okay that’s it for my project…you’re next stop in the hop is Cherry. I always love every little thing she makes…I can’t wait to see what she came up with..I know it will be fabulous.

Thanks so much for joining us for our blog hop this month. I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

New Challenge at Let’s Get Shabby

Standard

There’s a new challenge posted at Let’s Get Shabby. The theme this month is to create a project inspired by a piece of shabby chic china.  This is wonderful idea…..but for me….well I’m the only shabby chic country girl who doesn’t own china. I am so lucky to be married to a wonderful man who put himself through college cooking in a very upscale Italian restaurant. To chefs…the food should be beautiful…not the plate it served on…..so we have white dishes…..which is not too inspiring for craft projects lol. Thankfully Pinterest is full of beautiful china dish images….so here is the inspiration I found…

ff0c9565b16cc45332c50229ab2b38c2

I loved the border….and the sweet little pink flowers. Here is my layout inspired by the china…

This beautiful young lady is the Daughter of my dear friend Belinda. Heading for the prom with her date Thomas. Isn’t that the cutest couple??? Thanks for sharing Belinda : )

Okay…now it’s your turn to get inspired by china and create a project to share in the challenge….the prize this month is a great selection of chipboard!!!! Click this link to head over to check out the details…good luck to all who enter!

Christmas in July Book Class

Standard

Can you think of a better way to beat the heat than joining us for Christmas in July book class??? I didn’t think so : ) For our first project we will be making a lovely vintage inspired book with loads of pockets, ton’s of tags and detail galore and of course trim trim trim!

Here is a sneaky peek at the cover….

IMG_1772We’ll be crankin up the air conditioning and the Christmas tunes…. flip flops and tank tops and Christmas OH MY!

As always everything you need to complete this project is included in the class….so just come in ready to work and be merry and bright.  This class will be held Tuesday July 2nd  starting promptly at 6 pm. Due to the detailed nature of this book…I’m estimating the class to run about 3 hours???? Also I don’t recommend it to those who are very new beginners. Cost for this class is $30. If you would like to see the rest of this book and save your seat…you can hop in the shop during our regular business hours. You can leave your deposit and reservation by calling me at 734-268-1109 during regular business hours…..please do not leave deposit information in a message.

After the class seatings….kit’s may be available in the Etsy shop.  It’s a great way to get your Christmas crafting on when you don’t have to shop and clean and bake like a gazillion cookies lol. Hope you can make it!

I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

I forgot how to smart : (

Standard

I spent a good amount of time yesterday fiddling with this card. I had all the pieces I thought I wanted to use….and no matter how I tried…I just could not make it work! Super frustrating. Have you had days like that too? I’m sure we all do. You forget how to smart.  Once I was good and fed up…I took all the little pieces off the top and discovered underneath…that I actually did like the base layers quite a lot….so I got out some new goodies for the top….and voila a finished card that I just love!!! Moral of the story????? Sometime you just have to stop and find a new solution when you’re stuck on a project!

IMG_1599My girlies Anna and Brandy who were visiting me in the shop will be laughing…this is not the card I set out to make. It’s only like a million times better : ) Don’t ya just love that paper??? It’s Pink Paislee. That double chevron is so pretty. The printed die cuts are too. They’re from different lines…but you know me..I’ve got to mix and match.

IMG_1601-001

IMG_1602This perfect little bow was tied with Taupe Chevron  from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Okay…that’s it for my sweet and simple card. I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

Precious Baby Girl Card

Standard

I’m just popping in to share a sweet little baby girl card I created yesterday. I’ve got this great new Pink Paislee paper win the shop with the best pink diagonal stripes : ) I did a little more stamping too…I must be on a roll lol….two cards in a row.

IMG_1562-001The inspiration for this card was that little girl image…which I printed on textured cardstock to give an aged appearance…then clipped her from her background.

IMG_1563I stamped the sentiment image then added Stickles to the frame for accent. The stickers are from a Simple Stories sticker sheet. I added the clip and vintage button to finish.

IMG_1562-002The bow is made from RRR Wrinkle Ribbon.

Not sure if this card is going to stay a card….or perhaps I will use it as a cover for a baby girl mini album.

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G
