You Are So Wonderful Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Anytime I can bring together a wood grain with a floral and a doily…. I am so there.

Also this is a really sweet color combination. Has me thinking Spring….which considering how much snow we still have left outside is a long way away.

I pulled these flowers to add after being inspired by the background floral pattern.

There’s a companion pattern tucked under this rolled section on the top corner. It adds a lot of dimension.  I hung a few sweet metal charms from a vintagy button so this card could have a little bling.

More flowers here with die cut foliage layered underneath. Stickles added to the die cuts is a great way to add subtle detail.

The lovely sentiment is stacked over a doily image and additional paper layers. Actual vintage buttons are a last but not least embellishment on this old fashioned inspired card.

Believe Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Hello everyone! I’ve been a busy little bee creating loads of Christmas projects and I’ve fallen into a Victorian groove lately. Or at least this is my version of it. I think it’s the scripty font on sentiment die cut and the vintagy Santa.

Believe Frosty Window Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

This combination of paper patterns reminds me of wall paper in a lovely old house in England. Not that I’ve ever been. Maybe someday. Travel goals.

The chipboard window is finished to look very antique and has faux snow in the panes to look like a frosty Christmas scene.

Holiday die cuts are layered here with spacers for depth and some have more of the “snow.”

A tiny number tag is clipped on to accent the window. All of the elements here are layered over a pretty die cut doily in crisp white.

Vintage Santa Love Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed a lovely holiday with your family. This year we had two Thanksgivings  so that we could spend time with all the Peeps. Last night we had dinner with our Niece and her Husband and family. It was really a great time with delicious food and new friends!

But back to work today…..Santa’s elves never rest after all. I’m sharing a Christmas greeting card with a gorgeous Santa image.

The images are traditional….but I think it has almost a Victorian theme. Maybe it’s the font on the  sentiment die cut?

I know I’m obsessed with vintage buttons….but this is a record amount for me to add to one card. And I ain’t even mad lol.

Pretty coordinating  trims and flowers : )  I’ve layered in a die cut wreath here as well and tucked in a crisp white doily to create a base for the embellishments.

Have you noticed a trend here with the dark plaids?  If I’m being honest….I want to put plaid on every project from now on.  This time it’s paired with black patterns on kraft cardstock and I love how it turned out!

Santa Tag Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here to share a great little Christmas card I created with some of my fav Cheery Lynn Designs Dies and Wood Grain Christmas Tag collage sheet from our very own shop.  I created the base for this card just slightly larger than a standard A2 size to allow a border around the Rectangle Stitch and cut layers.

Judy’s Blooms flowers created with subtly patterned cardstock and finished with glitter edges and 3D snowballs. I’ve also tucked in some Holly Corners with coordinating Stickles on the edges.

I clipped one of the flowers in half and tucked in under the edge of the tag and over a Nesting Doll Circle and burlap ribbon.

Wood tones and plaid paper patterns are the perfect pairing for a homespun inspired Christmas greeting card with evergreen cardstock borders. I used the darker green in the center card with a Horizon Fishtail Banner to anchor the arrangement.

A little mixed media supplies to finish off the flowers and image finishes off the card with festive style.

Blessings Harvest Greeting Card

Standard

Hey there Paper Peeps! Well we are starting to have a few cooler days and a bit of crispness to the air. Fall is just around the corner and it’s one of my favorite times a year. Beautiful Fall wreaths full of richly colored leaves are an iconic seasonal decoration and is the inspiration for this card.
I started with a card base in the A2 size cut from chocolaty cardstock. I knew the leaves would create a lot of contrast and texture so I kept the background papers fairly neutral.

I used the Fall Leaves die to create a nice pile of leaves to assemble a generously filled in circle.  Inks and Stickles add detail to the leaves. This Blessings sentiment block is a nice contrast to the dark background.

I layered the wreath on to a French Pastry die cut from crisp white cardstock. An additional smaller French Pastry Tiny Doily die is centered over the wreath and given dimension  with chipboard spacers behind. It’s topped off with a metal rimmed mailing tag , wooden clothespin and beautiful bow of hand dyed silk.

Bending and shaping the individual leaves before securing gave the wreath a lovely full and dimensional look.

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release – Part 2 Halloween Catoween Tag

Standard

catoween tag 1Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share a fabby project I created with the new release dies!HAlloween PromoI had lots of fun with this tag….and you know I love cats so it’s just pur-fect for me lol. I started with a simple layered base 4 x 6 of black cardstock with festive and fun Halloween paper attached with chipboard spacers. I’ve also notched the corners. catoween tag 2   I super love this Whimsical Halloween Cat 4 piece Set.  I wanted to layer this cute kitty over patterned papers so I added a French Pastry Doily and cut a small circle in more neutral pattern to display him. I also used foam spacers to build it up off the surface.  catoween tag 3There’s a bit of coordinating bling in the background along with some fabby matching ribbon and to make this arrangement perfect I added Feathers cut from the background paper and embellished with a bit of Stickles. catoween tag 4Rather than using the entire sentiment from the die set I elected to just use the Cat-O-Ween part and created a bit of a banner curled to add dimension and  attached with tiny wooden clothespins.  I gave this cool cat a little bling for his bow tie to coordinate with the larger blingy accents in the background. Last but not least I wrapped a bit of twine around the bottom of the tag. catoween tag 5 ~Cheery Lynn Designs Supplies~
