Cherish Greeting Card w/Tutorial

Hey there Peeps! How can it be August already? I’m not quite ready to give up on Summer quite yet so Fall projects will have to wait. This time I’m sharing a very loaded greeting card..just the way I like them : )

Cherish Greeting Card

This card has a lot of layers…but a really simple color scheme so it does not come of as too busy.

This Cherish chippies is one of my favorites because it works for so many occasions.

Coordinating ribbon here to create a poofy bow with twine, a vintage button, and metal keys.

I added the Ivy Corners Chippie here finished in the same blue tones at the paper to add texture but not be too contrasting.

A very lush arrangement of flowers for the top and bottom corner of the card.

The chippies were wiped down with a soft cloth to prepare them for finishing.

A variety of embossing powders with different finishes..some glossy some flat.

The chippies have all been heat set and are ready to add to the card!

Halloween Shrine Box

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share a Halloween project that takes me from the sublime from last week into the ridiculous.  I’ve got a skeleton hanging from a chandelier like you would find at any great Halloween party. halloween_shrine_box_pollys_paper_studio_ginny_nemchak_01

I used pieces from several sets of fabulous chippies to create this fun and whimsical box.

The box is covered with funky Halloween patterned papers to create a backdrop for the altered chipboard.

Spider Webs with steel luxe paint create a base to add seasonal embellishments to.

The focal point for this arrangement is additional webs and Star Flourishes with fall colored leaves, black roses and sparkly picks.

Inside the box is a great embossed chandelier with a party animal skeleton.

Steampunk Inspired Hello Card

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here and I’m dropping in with a very Steampunk inspired greeting card and a Snapguide Tutorial so you can see the steps I took to create this project.  First the finished project….

Hello Steampunk Greeting Card GSL BoBunny 1

I had so much fun creating this card that was inspired by the Chain & Gear Frame.  And with just a quick coat of gold paint and white gel pen it coordinates perfectly with the patterned papers from BoBunny’s Somewhere In Time.

I used the frame to create a nice focal point with the sticker and die cut sentiment.

This card is finished inside with coordinating papers.

Matching flowers and simple but still pretty burlap bow with twine to anchor the corner.

Finishing the Chain Link Panel in white helps to add a nice graphic impression and works well between the busy patterned layers. The gear on the frame were finished in white as well.

Adding spacers between the layers really adds a lot of dimension and gives this project a nice weight.

Please enjoy this Snapguide tutorial I’ve prepared so you can see the steps to creating this project…

Hey there Peeps. Well I’m recovering from a little too much holiday fun and getting myself back to the workday.  I created this tag tutorial with lots of lovely chippies and some mixed medias and ribbon and flowers.

Journey Tag 1Journey Tag 2Journey Tag 3Journey Tag 4Journey Tag 5

Please enjoy this tutorial I’ve created so you can create a tag just like this for yourself….

Prepare all pieces except the wood charm with a white base coat.

Begin layering on an additional base coat with gold paint, copper paint and black archival ink.

Add newspaper patterned paper to the back of the arch.

Add shading and contouring to the wings with Distress Ink.  Layer on pattern with text stamp and black ink.

Color back of arch with multiple shades of Gelatos. Blend well.

Coat remaining pieces with gold paint. Allow to dry. Add copper colored texture paint being aware of leaving some parts thick and some thin. Once dry dab sections with Steel Luxe paint.

Secure top of arch to base.

With glue secure a tattered piece of cheesecloth.

Clip Photo Reel in half and add to arch.

Sprinkle Micro Beads onto any glue still showing.

Secure wings with middles touching.

Layer on pocket watch, gears and key.

Add a variety of flowers in coordinating colors.

Finish tag with wood charm sentiment and tie off ribbon trim with twine.

Love and Cherish Valentine Printer Tray Home Decor

Hey there Paper Peeps! It’s Ginny here and I’m so very excited to be sharing my very first post for  Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. What a fun adventure it’s going to be for me to create with these fabulous chippies. For my first project I made a very Valentiny  Love and Cherish Printer Tray with lots of bits and bobs and finished it  with well altered chipboard embellishments.

Love & Cherish Printer Tray Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts 1 I just love a classic color scheme for holiday decor and I think this fits the bill. There’s just something about black and creme with red. Soooo romantic.

Love & Cherish Printer Tray Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts 3This gorgeous set of  Ivy Corners has been finished with red acrylic paint then inked and embossed then sprayed with a shimmery mist.  I wanted it to have a well worn and aged look so I dabbed a bit of gold paint in the edges.

Love & Cherish Printer Tray Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts 2I scavenged some seasonal embellies like the keys and heart and butterflies and gave them each a section of the tray being careful to balance the red with the chipboard and metal.

Love & Cherish Printer Tray Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts 5The chipboard was trimmed so it wouldn’t hang off the bottom ….easy enough with a small pair of sharp scissors.

Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Supplies~Ivy Corners, Words & Phrases 1, Flourish Frame Sienna Mini.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Trim~Red Wrinkle Ribbon. I sprayed the ribbon with the Sued Glimmer Mist to age it and darken it a bit.

Paper from Graphic 45.

To finish the chipboard I used~Americana Cherry Red Acrylic Paint, Tattered Angels Suede Glimmer Mist, Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink, Wow Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.

Love and Cherish Printer Tray.

Okay that’s all for me. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G
