Spring Bird Card for Petaloo

Hey there  Peeps!  Ginny here to share a very springy and just a little bit vintage and shabby all occasion greeting card.  The inspiration was a lovely bird image with coordinating pattern papers that just called out to have a garden of flowers added to accent it.

I just love the soft pinks and wood grain together. I added a white die cut doily to brighten it up just a bit.

Multiple layers of matting helps to separate the patterned papers and provide a sturdy base to add oodles of gorgeous flowers.

Petaloo has so many lovely flowers that it’s very easy and fun to match up blooms to your projects.

Tucked in under more flowers at the top is a sweet little bird nest charm with pearly accents because cards need a little bling to be extra awesome.

Since this card turned out to have such a lovely nature inspired look I added a bow created with burlap and a little border of pink lace.

Thoughts of Spring Greeting Card

Hey there Paper Peeps!  I know I have thoughts of Spring as it’s been a long cold Winter. I created this card with bright cheerful colors, and a gorgeous selection of flowers.

Think Spring Vintage Inspired Greeting Card Holiday Home Decor Polly's Paper Studio 05

I’ve chosen shades of purple for this card inspired by the gorgeous flowers.  Sadly I am not a very good gardener so all my flowers have to be Petaloo.

Oh my goodness there is so much texture here!!!! I’ve layered many types of flowers here and tucked in ribbon and twine and coordinating butterflies.

I’ve tucked in some altered chipboard and die cuts to enhance the floral theme.  These colors are bright and the patterns are busy so I used a solid purple cardstock to act as borders. Think Spring Vintage Inspired Greeting Card Holiday Home Decor Polly's Paper Studio 04

Additional flowers and butterfly here to balance the other arrangement.  The paper has been tattered and stitched and I added pearly accents for detail.

This paper from Graphic 45 was a nearly perfect match. I did alter the fairy just by using watercolor pencils and sparkle pens to color her wings and dress.

Irish Charm Wall Hanging Holiday Decor

Happy Saturday Peeps!  We’re looking forward to an almost springlike day here in Michigan and I’m so happy for a bit of a warm up. I’m dropping in to share a sweet wall hanging I created for St Patrick’s Day with an image from the new Irish Charm Tags Digital Collage Sheet.

This charming Irish lass is perfect for layering with patterned papers, and lots of embellies.

There’s a glittery shamrock here with gorgeous flowers in shades of green. I tucked in some berry picks and twine to fill in a generous arrangement.

Loopy bows tied of chevron striped twill are topped off with bows of twine and vintage buttons. There is also a length of the ribbon to display on a peg or hook.

Chipboard altered with embossing powder and heat set creates a frame for the tag. I used spacers between the layers for depth.  I’ve got a fabby new thin striped washi tape that was perfect to add to the side of the tag  along with the enamel number plate and coordinating pearly accents.

I used a large die to cut the background with a border of  Celtic knots.  There are layers of 100 lb cardstock and printed scrapbook paper on the back for a finished look and for sturdiness.

Happy New Year Layered Tag

It’s almost time to ring in the new year Peeps and I’m pretty excited about the  adventures that await in 2017. I created this sweet tag with a vintagy New Year’s Bingo Images on layers of Nesting Ovals and topped of with Gardenia’s.
I cut these Gardenias from salmon colored cardstock then shaped them and finished the edges with heat set embossing powder. There’s also flourish leaves and spiral stamens.

Using spacers between the layers adds a lot of depth. The tag is topped off with perfectly coordinating ribbons and a pretty pearly resin rose.

Santa Tag Christmas Greeting Card

Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here to share a great little Christmas card I created with some of my fav Cheery Lynn Designs Dies and Wood Grain Christmas Tag collage sheet from our very own shop.  I created the base for this card just slightly larger than a standard A2 size to allow a border around the Rectangle Stitch and cut layers.

Judy’s Blooms flowers created with subtly patterned cardstock and finished with glitter edges and 3D snowballs. I’ve also tucked in some Holly Corners with coordinating Stickles on the edges.

I clipped one of the flowers in half and tucked in under the edge of the tag and over a Nesting Doll Circle and burlap ribbon.

Wood tones and plaid paper patterns are the perfect pairing for a homespun inspired Christmas greeting card with evergreen cardstock borders. I used the darker green in the center card with a Horizon Fishtail Banner to anchor the arrangement.

A little mixed media supplies to finish off the flowers and image finishes off the card with festive style.

Tiny Envelope Candy Holder Gift Tag

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share that I have finally created the perfect combination of crafts and candy! Also….wouldn’t this make a fabby advent calendar? Or gift tags for the tree with little notes to Santa?

I started by creating mini envelopes and lining them with candy striped paper. Using foam spacers I adhered them to the tag base which I cut with the Rectangle Stitch and Cut.  There’s a metal eyelet on the top of the envelope flap with gold twine looped through and adhered on the back.

A little tinsel trim and poinsettias with holly leaves are added to the tag being careful not to block the opening of the envelope.

Smaller poinsettias are added to the top and finished off with glitter glue, pearly accents and shaved ice embellishment.

To finish off the tags I added a loop of twine, poofy bows and a vintage button.

Jolly Bird Vintage Tag Greeting Card

Happy Thanksgiving Peeps!  I woke up this morning…..poured myself a big cup of strong coffee…..tucked a cookie in my pocket and tiptoed down to my shop to work a little while the peeps at home were sleeping off our yummy big dinner.

I printed the Black Plaid Christmas Tags collage sheet and chose patterned papers, chippies, gorgeous flowers, and oodles of fun seasonal embellishments to layer on and created a very cottage chic and vintage inspired Christmas greeting card.

Wonder Christmas Greeting Card with Deer

Hey there Peeps! Well I’m staying on course with my plan to post more projects featuring the Digital Collage Images from Polly’s Paper Studio and today I’m sharing my second project with the Woodland Deer Christmas Collage. This card is really a great example of focusing on nature for the holiday with the deer image and lovely flowers and evergreen accents and pine cone.

Woodland Christmas Greeting Card with Deer

I created these images to fit perfectly on a greeting card. Large enough to be a great focal point…but not too big so I had room to add the patterned papers and embellishments.

I’m using a fabulous die to cut the background of plaid paper with a pretty little border.  I used a die to cut the doily as well and this is a great backdrop for the altered chipboard so it wont get lost on the busy plaid. The scroll chippie was finished in a great white enamelish embossing powder with little gold flecks and the Wonder sentiment is finished with gold sparkle then both were heat set before adding to the card.

I mean you can not hardly ever go wrong adding pretty seasonal flowers from Petaloo and these poinsettias are really perfect for the nature theme.

Rather than going all in with the fancy shmancy ribbons..I chose a simple burlap for the texture and used it to create a loopy bow and to tuck under some of the layers.

Here’s the other project created with the images…You may have seen these yesterday if you’re following us on Facebook….I printed the images in a 2 inch square size so they would fit perfectly on tags.

Cardinal Christmas Greeting Card

Hey there peeps! Time again for me to share a project I created with the fabulous dies from Cheery Lynn!  I’ve got a pretty Winter Bird Tag image with natural fibers, poinsettias and leaves and a perfect sentiment to bring a little joy to the holiday.  This card is 5 x 6 1/2 inches so there’s lots of room to layer up the paper patterns.

I cut the poinsettias, gave them a little inking, stamped some text, shaped and added glitter and “snow” for a proper frosty look. Tucking in a little seam binding helps to fill in the arrangement and anchor the corner.

This beautiful image is 1 of 9 tags from my new Winter Birds Christmas Tag Digital Collage Sheet. Perfect to bring a bit of nature to your Christmas crafting for cards, larger tags, labels or to create a sweet banner. Adding the sentiment over one of the flowers helps add depth. More flourishes and another smaller bloom balance the card without hiding the focal image.
