Hey Petaloo Peeps! Ginny here to share a bright and cheerful card created to celebrate a graduation.
I’ve got a garden full of gorgeous Petaloo flowers layered over patterned papers.
I’ve got a lot of pattern going on here but solid borders between the layers keeps everything from being jumbled up.
These flowers have such fun bright colors and match the paper perfectly. This arrangement has a sweet bow in a chevron printed twill and some loopy twine bows to work as filler.
The smaller arrangement on top has a lovely metal charm with an inspirational message.
I love the depth achieved with the large flowers. I’ve used spacers between the papers layers also and a pretty crisp white doily to complete this card.
Botanica Blossoms Pink 1102-101
Chantilly Velvet Hydrangeas Violet 1272-182
Darjeeling Petites Pink 1465-110
Darjeeling Anenome Pink 1490-110
Darjeeling Dahlias Pink 1467-110
~Really Reasonable Ribbon Supplies~
Chevron Striped Twill Celery, Ivory Burlap String, Scor-Tape, Tombow Foam Squares.
Okay that’s all for my project. On a very personal note. I’d like to express how much I have treasured my time working for the Petaloo Brand. Cheryl has been such an inspiration for me to create with the amazing flowers and embellishments . Her support for the team and all of her hard work behind the scenes to make us shine will never be forgotten. I consider her a wonderful team leader and friend. Speaking of wonderful team…..I couldn’t ask for a better group of designers to work with. Not only are they top notch in their field…but they are really sweet and funny and generous and I am lucky to know them. With the ending of the Petaloo blog we’ll all be on to different things…but we will still be together in spirit. And last but not least a big thank you to all of you who supported our team by enjoying the blog and commenting and sharing your appreciation for our creations. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Wishing everyone a happy and productive day : ) G
Hey there Peeps! I’ve got a really fun retro inspired card to share today that’s got fabby bright colors and patterned papers that are so vintagy they will just make you smile : ) The patterned papers here are from the Carta Bella Toy Box Collection.
Who says cards for boys have to be boring? I did all my layering like I would any other card and it turned out great!
I created a tag from the cut apart and added a metal eyelet to string striped ribbon trim through.
I’ve wrapped twine around the center section and behind the tag.
Using spacers between the layers helps the details pop. The inside of the card is finished with coordinating patterns.
Not only is this card a thoughtful gift….but wouldn’t it look cute displayed in a little boys bedroom? Or even a big boys mancave lol .

Hey there Peeps! Well I bet you thought since we’re starting a new Show Me The Green Challenge that I would be making a St Patty’s Day themed project. Surprise! I didn’t hehe. I made a wall hanging inspired by a sweet and thoughtful sentiment from a cut apart on my fav new paper collection.
I’ve got an graphic olive colored stripe layered in with altered chippies and oodles of flowers.
There’s a strip of gold and white striped washi to coordinate with the butterflies. Vintage buttons are always the right answer.
So. Many. Flowers. Sisal and loopy bows made from twine are tucked in to fill in this generous arrangement.
Tiny resin lock plates are topped off with plaid cabochons layered on the embossed butterfly chippie.
More Petaloo flowers here along with tiny resin flowers. I’ve added a double layer bow topped off with a button, tag, and peraly stick pins. That gorgeous frame is a scribble frame with white embossing powder that’s heat set. Last but not least a pretty die cut doily in crisp white.

Sooooo I created these cards and totally forgot to post them. How on earth did that een happen??? I’m usually so excited to share things that I have to stop myself from posting 5 times a day lol. I just happened to spot them when I was scrolling my Instagram feed and boom there they were like little lost orphans : ( So today is the day for them, finally lol.
I’ve been challenging myself to make some cards that art not quite as poofy so they are easier to mail in a regular envelope. This is so hard for me with all the pretties at hand that I want to attach. This is a good compromise though……just enough without being too much.
More washi and handcrafted flowers with pretty brad centers. The kraft doily looks amazing with the black borders and tiffany blue and gold stripe tape.
I am super in love with this bicycle tag!!!! Also I added a layer of vintagy washi tape to act as a border…..and it matches perfectly to this Carta Bella paper.
Vintage train tag??? Don’t mind if I do! These polka dotty flowers are coordinating so perfectly! It’s a little bit masculine…..but still having a lot of detail.
The best thing about these beauties aside from the fact that fit nicely in an envelope….they are really great for any occasion.
These cards are all available in the shop.
Okay that’s all for me. Wishing everyone a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G
Hey there Paper Peeps! I’ve got a little steampunk inspiration coming your way inspired by some gorgeous masculine papers with hot air balloons. I pulled out some of my favorite steampunk chippies from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts and loads of mixed media supplies and beautiful flowers.

Here’s a look at how I altered the chippies….
The most important thing is to select chipboard that will enhance your project.
Even if I’m going to finish the chippies with dark colors I base coat them in flat white paint.
I used a very thick coat of Iron Paste from Pentart and allowed to dry. Next I globbed on 3D Matte Gel from art basics to add a lumpy bumpy texture, then heat set to encourage the bubbling.
Using a cosmetic sponge I dabbed and smooshed on loads of alcohol inks.
I finished up the card with flowers, micro beads and twine.

Hey there Peeps. We’re starting a new challenge at RRR today and the theme this time is Celebrate with Ribbon or Trim ….which you know I am all about lol.
I created a card to celebrate a new baby. I think it would look really lovely displayed in a nursery after the baby arrives. Prop it on a shelf with some books and vintage baby toys.
This little puppy image was the inspiration for the card. I took the color cue from the border and incorporated the blues and greens.
So many glorious flowers all arranged with coordinating ribbon, Prills, spiral stamens, and twine.
A tiny metal charm hangs on this side and has more of the Prills and twine. I used a tiny clip to attach a sweet label over fishtail shapes in matching paper patterns.
Metal mailing tags and additional flowers to balance the arrangement on the top with altered chippies that create a lovely border and sentiment.
Tattering the edges adds a lot of texture and spacers between the layers creates depth. This card would make a great addition to the nursery décor.

Hey Peeps! It’s that time of year where I’m looking out the window of the cold wind and snow and thinking how much I wish it was Spring. It doesn’t seem to want to warm up outside so I’ll have to make my own Spring by layering up pretty patterned papers and adding oodles of gorgeous flowers to my projects.
