Take A Hike Box & Tags with BoBunny

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Today I am sharing a very special project I created especially for my Hubby for Father’s Day ( it’s a little late.)  He and my younger Son went on an amazing adventure last summer that was a life changing experience for them. They spent 10 days hiking 91 miles in the mountains in New Mexico at the Philmont  Boy Scout Camp with some of their best friends.  Thanks to a great camera on his phone he was able to capture the amazing trip to share.  I can’t possibly scrap all the pics…but here are some good ones….especially of them together.   Take a Hike Tag Box 1

The Take A Hike Collection from BoBunny is just too perfect to scrap these outdoorsy pictures.

Since this is a gift…I wanted to be able to include lots of pics so I’m using this fabby box filled with tags.  I started by giving all the chipboard pieces a nice base coat of flat black acrylic. Then added loads of layers of patterned papers.

Using the sheets from the 6 x 6 paper pad I was able to incorporate the full patterns for the outside of the box.

I took advantage of the smaller front section to add the layered stickers and ephemera pieces giving this project a lot of depth.  Chocolaty colored ribbons, buttons and brads really adds a great detail and still maintains the woodsy style.

I had so much fun combining the patterned papers and embellies to create tags with similar…but coordinating looks.

The backs are finished as well and has room for larger pictures.

I created a small open top box to add to the tag on the left. It has one smaller decorated tag and additional journal tags so my Hubby can share his favorite memories from camp.

You can see that he has a ton of room for journal tags in this little box.

After adding the pictures I was able to go back and incorporate the ephemera pieces to accent the tags.

I used the patterned papers to cover smaller chipboard frames for some of the close up pictures.

To help separate the busy patterns I used borders of black cardstock.  This picture of my guys on the top of the mountain is one of my favorites.

6 tags finished front and back. All different…but similar to keep a consistent look throughout.

Standard

Hey there Paper Peeps! Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend so far.  I’m just dropping in to share the fun project we will be creating in class this week. It’s a vintagy inspired Halloween Tag Book in a Box.  I loaded it up with layers of patterned papers, vintagy holiday images, and super fun and festive embellishments.

IMG_3879Isn’t it spooktacular? I really had so much fun adding these embellishments! The box will be a great addition to seasonal decor…and family and friends can enjoy viewing the pictures and memories.

IMG_3880I’ve chosen really yummy ribbons to make scrumptious bows. All different…but coordinated.

IMG_3881Isn’t that the cutest little guy?

IMG_3882IMG_3883The backs of the tags all have pumpkin colored cardstock embossed with a spiderweb pattern!

Tuesday Night Peep Vicky wanted to work on Halloween projects and Peep Bobbie wanted vintage and cute. I think this will make them both happy : ) There are a few kits available: Halloween Tag Book in a Box. Will begin shipping Sept 6th.

Okay Peeps that’s all for me. I hope you enjoy your holiday. I’ll be spending mine taking and processing elebenty hundred pics. My hubby got me a remote for my camera so my day will be a whole lot better.   I’m hoping to kick this sinus headache soon…ahhhh Michigan weather strikes again. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lot’s of time to be creative : ) G

Note to self….

It’s a very good idea to remove the boxes from Costco shortly after unpacking them and take them right to the recycling. Otherwise it may become a habitat for the local wildlife.

This was quite a dramatic scene….sorry for the picture quality : ( I’m not so good a getting action shots.

Lola has moved into her very own penthouse suite. Not much for amenities….but great location.

We do not like our new neighbor Lily moving in downstairs.

Oh I see you’re leaving.

Very good vantage point for a sneak attack.

Home sweet home at last….without the riff raff downstairs!

Moral of the story???? Great boxes do not always make great neighbors : ) And don’t put off you’re recycling as it may cause a turf war.

I really tried….

I really did try to work yesterday. I wanted to have a lovely new book or altered object to post. All this incredible new stock kept coming in and stealing my focus. Today my task is to make room for it all. I still have 3 more paper orders coming in and more new brads! On the right side of the pile is from Crate. I am particularly eager to get to show off the Portrait Collection. It’s just amazing! And Toy box is super fun. I ordered the most amazing chipboard pieces and borders too. (Unless I hoard them all for myself!) Just kidding. : )  There is too much to mention so you’ll just have to come in and see it for yourself!

The left side is from Three Bugs in a Rug. Love it!
