Bee Home Decor Plaque w/ tutorial

Hey there Peeps! I’m rustling up some home décor today for my project inspired by my love of bees.  Our neighbor is a beekeeper so we get to enjoy lots of them in our flowering trees. Also my very good friend is also a beekeeper and provides us with gorgeous fresh honey : )

Here’s how I prepared the chippies…

All these fabby elements will be wiped with a cloth to prepare them for finishing.

Some of the pieces have been finished in patterned papers. Some have been inked black and some have been heat embossed.

A variety of embossing was done in metallic shades and the bee was just colored with a Spectrum Noir marker.

Bee Perfect Card

Hey there Peeps! Today I’m dropping in to share a card that I created that is really a walk on the wild side for me. I do typically choose shabby chic colors…but this card is black and white with gold accents. I’m really very pleased with how it turned out and maybe it’s even a little sophisticated? Bee Perfect Card.

Bee Perfect Greeting Card 1The inspiration for this card was the Honeycomb & Bee Medium chippie set. I wanted to try a little gold embossing on the background and one thing led to another.

Bee Perfect Greeting Card 2

To add a sentiment I inked the Chevron Words chippie then gave it a coat of clear embossing powder and heat set it.  Once I had it in place it looked a bit cluttered….so I added a small strip of crisp white cardstock to the back before adhering.

Distressing the edges of the paper adds a lot of texture and spacers between the layers creates depth.

Bee Perfect Greeting Card 4

The little bee chippies got a base coat of black paint then a layer of gold sparkle pen….now they look like bling!

Bee Perfect Greeting Card 5

I dressed up the flower arrangement with mica flakes and micro beads.  The ribbon is a classic black and white stripe….and an additional set of gold twine loopy bows to finish it off.  Bee Perfect Card.

Okay that’s all for me….wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Bee Inspired Creativity Journal

I couldn’t resist snagging the Bee and Bloom Collage Sheet and creating a little art journal.  I was having lot’s of fun playing paper with my dear friend Bobbie on our chilly wintry Saturday at the shop and even got a nice visit from Anna, Tracy, and cuppycake ( Anna’s super beautiful Grand Daughter.)  Such a nice day to spend with my Peeps!

IMG_2833I used one of the journal cards to start the cover, then added some text blocks, buttons and loads of Stickles.

IMG_2834I had this great little bee charm in the stash so I added it to the binder ring along with a metal rimmed mailing tag and a key charm. I think they’re charming lol….see what I did there……charming. I crack myself up lol. I added a very generous amount of  Black Gingham ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon as well.IMG_2836IMG_2837IMG_2838IMG_2839While I had all the paper pretties out I worked on an extra tag as well.

You can get the Bee and Bloom Collage sheet HERE.

Okay that’s it for me this morning…I’m off to work to prep for class. I hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to bee creative : ) G

Sparkle, Bling and Ribbon

It’s time for a new challenge at RRR. This time the theme is Sparkle, Bling, and Ribbon. Sa-weet!!!!! I do love the sparkle : )

So here is my take on a bee-utiful Mother’s Day card. ( You didn’t seriously think I was done with the bee projects did ya??? )

This card has a fun little tag to pull out. I thought it might be a fun place to add a gift card????

I used some beautiful Seam Binding in Black and some Wrinkle Ribbon in Ivory that I inked in Wild Honey Distress Ink. There’s also a bit of inked Chevron on the tag. This sounds like a great challenge. Hop on over and check out the details so you can show off your Sparkle, Bling, and ribbon project too!

I’ve also added the Patriotic mini kits to the Etsy shop this morning.

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to sparkle! G
