Happy 4th of July Wall Hanging

Happy 1st of the month peeps! Just dropping in to share my first project with the new Patriotic Assortment Ribbon Club Selection.

This will be perfect for all the summer holiday projects! Great solids with fun and festive patterns!
I created a wall hanging just because I was in the mood to make extra bows lol.

Stars and stripes are my favorite Americana themed patterns. I die cut the base and added layers of 110 lb cardstock to ensure that it would be nice and sturdy.

The focal image is a digital tag from my shop Patriotic Tags Collage. It’s got a metal eyelet with thick twine pulled through and glass glitter stars peeking out from behind.

Coordinating flowers are layered in with Spiral Stamens and a large chipboard sentiment.

The crisp white paper doily works great to break up the busy patterns.

Isn’t this bow fabulous??? There’s a solid taffeta with the satin quatrefoil on top then twine and last but not least an epoxy patterned brad.

Petaloo Flowers~ Darjeeling Blue Anenomes.
Okay that’s all for me. I can’t wait to get more projects started with this ribbon club selection….and get my house all decked out for the summer holidays : ) G

Hope Patriotic Greeting Card

As promised here is the 8th project created with the new Patriotic Creativity Kit 2016. Here is a card I created with awesome chippies, patterned papers, vintage images and loads of embellishments. It would be great as a card…but even better tucked into a shelf or mantle display to enjoy for the whole season.

Let me just say right now, Scribble Frames are my new favorite!!!!! Just too much fun to layer them up with loads of details.  I have a lot of pattern going on here so I relied on this frame finished in crisp white to add separation to keep the card from being too busy.

I added some fun and festive embellies like a glittery star, pearly accents and coordinating flowers. Working in the Hope Chipboard was a great way to incorporate a subtle sentiment.
I worked more of the details around the frame and even tucked some underneath the corner.  Check out the Patriotic Creativity Kit 2016 HERE. You also want to check out my post from yesterday where I shared the other 7 projects I created with the kit…..
Okay that’s all for me…off to my shop to escape from the snow. Wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Hooray for the Red White and Blue Patriotic Picnic Centerpiece

Hey there Peeps! Well you all know how crazy we are for summer holidays here at Polly’s. Not only are we fiercely patriotic but my Hubbies Birthday is on the 4th so we have lots or reason to celebrate!!! I created a picnic centerpiece for Graphic 45 filled with a star spangled floral display complete with paper pinwheels andddd it’s in a mason jar which makes it more awesome anddd it has a jar cozy with sections to hold napkins and utensils. So it’s pretty much the most pretty and practical centerpiece ever!!!

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 1  Of course I’m using Home Sweet Home with it’s homespun charm and patriotic color scheme!

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 6I created the jar cozy with the Staples Tag Album. It will make switching out the flowers easier  and will prevent drips on the pretty papers.

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 7My dear Hubby found these carnations for me to arrange with the glittery stars made with real glass glitter and the paper pinwheels made from the 6 x 6 paper pad and Staples Metal Brads.

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 2Four cozy compartments to hold napkins and utensils. Instead of the cups we used to use that would blow over in the wind lol.

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 3I gave each compartment a different but similar look using the coordinating chipboard.

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 4These Petaloo flowers are actually supposed to be for Christmas…but they matched perfectly to my color scheme so I went with it.

Patriotic Cards and Kits

Hey there Paper Peeps! I’m getting a good start on my summer holiday projects this year so I will have enough time to get them all finished. Our favorite time of year with my Hubby’s Birthday and patriotic holidays. I’m all about classic Americana so I’m using vintagy images and patterned papers with traditional red white and blue.

This kit is ideal for cards and banners….but will also make fabulous tags and labels and embellies for scrapbooking.

Fourth of July Creativity Kit 2015This is the biggest kit I’ve created so far!!! So much paper pretties to get your craft on with!

Okay that’s all for me. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Anxious to get back to work????

I’ve officially been away from my crafty supplies too long. All my papers and pretties to play with. I have enjoyed my mini vacation…and spent some wonderful time with my family and friends….but I am a creative soul…and without a project to work on…I’m a little lost. I have tried to fill my down time while the peeps have slept in working on collages so when I do get back to the shop I will have some focus on projects that I really want to tackle first.

Oval Easter Frames Bunnies:

ovalframeeasterThese little sweet bunny images will make great cards for my Peeps : ) I love the shabby colors!

Yes…I know I’ve told you all that not only are we a  fiercely patriotic family….but the 4th holds a special place  in our hearts here at home as it’s my dear Hubby’s Birthday….so I created this collage with plans to create like a gazillion tags to add to our patriotic decorations for his 4th of July tree….

Vintage Inspired Patriotic Americana:

vintage americana collage sheetAnother Goal I have for the new year is to create more art journals so I’ve been planning ahead and making more images that I can add to the journals with lined sections and beautiful large floral images that are just calling out for some Stickles! These are a great size to work with as they can be pockets in larger books…or pages in smaller journals.

Large Floral Journal Cards.

111111111I’ll be back to work tomorrow….with lot’s of inspiration to create pretties for the upcoming posts….so be on the lookout for projects with these collages. If you’d like the collages to create with too….they’re available for instant download just be clicking the links 🙂

I‘m off to get the housework done and refill the pantry before I go back to work. I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

May Blog Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Despite the chilly weather outside…I’m told it’s Spring…and that must mean it’s time again for another Blog Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This month we’re sharing our projects made with the fabulous Patriotic Ribbon Club Assortment.

This assortment is so great for me as the summer holidays are some of my favorite to celebrate since we are fiercely patriotic and  the 4th of July is my Dear Hubbies Birthday…and very soon we will be celebrating our oldest Son’s Eagle Scout Ceremony and high school graduation. I created my project to use as part of the decoration at his banquet. I’ve gotten a sneaky peek at some of the other designers projects and I have to say…I love them all.

Okay…let’s get hopping. You should be coming to Polly’s from the lovely and talented Misty. If you’re just starting here…..you need to click HERE to start at the beginning…then follow all the links to see the very inspiring projects created by the design team. Don’t forget to leave a little love for the fabulous projects!

IMG_1568This pic is my Son with his patrol. Such wonderful, respectful, helpful, reverent, incredible young men. I am super proud of all of them : ) I always have a stash of great papers to create patriotic projects. For this layout….I really wanted to add lot’s of dimensional embellishments….So I started with a very patterned paper….then chose to cover it with patterned velum to give me a neutral background….You can still see the flag through the velum which is printed with the Declaration.

IMG_1573This fun banner was created by layering lot’s of well inked stickers…then punching tiny holes and string them between fabulous bows made from the ribbon assortment. I added a bit of extra inked trim to the outside…to bring the color down to the corner.

IMG_1582For this little number….I started with a base of a very large folded cardstock rosette. Then layered on great little flags on picks, part of a cupcake wrapper, vintage Uncle Sam image. Some folded dimensional stars with lot’s of ink and glitter and blue pearly flourishes. There is also a several Brittania Candi Dots.

Your next stop in the hop is the wonderful GLORIA.

She is sharing a super creative project that I can’t wait to try out myself! Don’t forget to leave her a little love: )

Thanks for hopping along with us this month…I hope you enjoyed our projects as much as we enjoyed creating them!
