Adore Valentine Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there  friends and crafty peeps! So excited to be sharing my first project on the GSL blog for 2019.

Creating cards in this size 4 x 9 which is fairly new to me this year really gives me the opportunity to use more of the gorgeous frames.

I think this scrolly layered frame is so perfect for fancy Valentine’s cards.

I’ve included additional holiday themed chippies to fill in the space.

The heart shapes are topped with glitter glue for added sparkle. They really help to fill in this arrangement.

Including embellishments like this heart charm build on the theme.

After selecting the chipboard I wanted to use I wiped them down to prepare them for altering.

Everything gets a coat of flat white acrylic paint.

The top section of this layered frame has clear glitter glue added for extra detail.

I’ve assembled the frame and clipped the heart circle chippie so it can be added to the frame to extend the dimensions.

Adding a pretty holiday image to the back makes it the perfect addition to this Valentine card.

Be Brave Mini Album for Authentique

Standard

Hello there and Happy New Year to all my friends and crafty peeps!  I’m sharing my first project of the year for Authentique Ppaers with the amazing Quest collection.  What can I say about a collection with these gorgeous paper patterns and vintagy images except that I am in love!!!!

I did a fair bit of fussy cutting to create a layered focal image of this hot air balloon from one of the journal cards. I’m really drawn to the stripe on the balloon that reminds me of airmail.  There’s quite a few patterns here stacked up then accented with handmade flowers, ribbon and twine, and a die cut doily.

The first flip reveals pocket pages. I’ve paired the Denim and Red Licorice cardstock from Authentique for a multi layer matting because more is better! I used that Denim to create pockets to hold inserts.

The inserts are large and have tip ins added to the sides to allow for use of the entire journal card images.

Inside the tip ins are the numbered day journal cards. How handy is it that they are lined. Perfect for adding journaling!

The inserts are finished inside with coordinating papers.

How gorgeous are these pockets???? I am so crushing over that paper!!!! I utilized the Elements sheet for images and sentiments to finish the pockets.

One more page flip reveals another angled pocket with folded insert and a double pocket page that holds the remaining numbered day cards.

I continued the double matting and paper patterns for a consistent look. These tags have additional room on the back for including favorite memories.

The last flip has large pages for bigger pictures and mementos.

Travel themed charms are added to the cover with a generously sized and perfectly coordinated satin ribbon bow.

Every Day Beauty Mini Album

Standard

Happy New Year friends and crafty peeps! So excited to be sharing my first project for 2019! Even though it’s a new year I’m still using my favorite plaid ribbon : )

I’m using the Spring Farmhouse collection from Prima for this album.

With pretty flowers to coordinate. I’ve also tucked in some burlap string to make the arrangement nice and full.

Vintage buttons are the perfect accent for this shabby farmhouse style.

Pages inside have pockets that hold tags with tip ins.

Incorporating tip ins means you can utilize the entire image even in smaller books.

This set of pages have double pockets. Larger tags are tucked into the the back pocket and folded inserts in front.

I just love these vintagy images!

These full page tip ins are a great way to add real estate for loads of pictures and journaling.

The front and back cover have more of that gorgeous buffalo plaid.

Christmas Pocket with Tags and Flip Book

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty Peeps. Well it’s Christmas eve and I’ve been waiting so long to get to share this project I created for our group post on the Authentique Blog.

I’m using the gorgeous Solitude collection for this winter inspired pocket full of tags and a mini flip book.

I may have gone a bit overboard on the front of the pocket…but hey that’s what holidays are for right?

Trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon and flowers from Little Birdie Crafts are the perfect accents for this fun and festive project.

I love the pocket even with all the goodies removed. That sweet bird paper is so pretty!!!

This embellishment is created with a die cut element layered over a glittery punched scalloped circle and a dimensional paper rosette .

Two tags and a folded insert have loads of holiday details.

Last but not least a sweet mini flip book to add favorite Christmas pictures and memories.

The best thing about a flip book is you get something new with every flip!

Don’t forget to leave room to add journaling.

Cozy Mittens Card with Video Tutorial for GSL

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here to share a cozy mittens greeting card created with the gorgeous chippies from GSL.

I just love the homespun country inspiration of this card.

I altered the mittens to look hand painted with a little help from some pretty plaid paper.

The border strip of snowflakes is layered over embossed kraft paper. A bit of faux snow on the edges of the paper for a frosty look.

Some handcrafted flowers and die cut foliage are a nice touch for this whimsical card.

Red satin with swiss dots ribbon and burlap string are stacked for a perfect poofy bow.

I wiped down the chippies to prepare them for finishing. Trace the backside of the mittens onto patterned paper and clip out.

Adhere the cut paper to the fronts of the chipboard with good wet adhesive.

Use a file to clean the ragged edges. In the same manner prepare some glitter paper to be the fuzzy tops of the mittens.

Water down some white acrylic paint and add light layers to the patterned paper until you reach the desired amount of coverage.

Add a dot and dash line with a white Unibal pen.  Trace select lines of the plaid with clear Stickles to begin adding detail back to the pattern.

Add tiny punched hearts. Once the first layer of Stickles is dry add additional lines with red.
