Hello friends and crafty peeps! I’ve got a fun and easy to make hybrid project to share today inspired by a poll posed on my YouTube channel. I asked my viewers if they would like more tutorials featuring supplies from the dollar tree and it was a resounding yes. Some of the commenters mentioned that their local dollar tree did not have the most funnest supplies and that got me thinking I need to find more national chain stores that might be a bit more consistent with their stock and create budget friendly crafts with items that most folks were likely to be able to get their hands on.
I present to you the Loaded Pocket Easel Decor Baby Album….. in both boy and girl because I couldn’t bear to leave either one behind in the store.
The patterned papers used to create these pocket albums were found at Joann’s in the open stock paper aisle. Because they are single sided they are much more affordable.
The coordinating journal card sheets gave me loads of images to use to create inserts, tip ins, and even focal images to decorate the covers. I’ve finished off the extra deep pockets with pretty trims and flowers. And of course buttons and charms .
There are 4 large top folding inserts tucked into the pockets. They’re covered with the patterned papers and have pockets on the front to hold more tags.
For a more consistent look I finished the pockets and the backs of the tags with plaid papers. I’ve also mixed in a woodgrain pattern to help anchor the lighter colors and to provide a neutral background for layers to be added.
You can see there is soooo much room for pictures and journaling and it all tucks neatly into an easel display so you can add this to your nursery decor or gift it to someone special .
Won’t you join me for a tutorial?
