Nautical Loaded Pocket with Tutorial

Standard

Hello friends as crafty peeps! Ginny here with a fun project created with the new Voyage collection from Authentique Papers.

Nautical Loaded Pocket Polly's Paper Studio 01

This collection has a fabulous selection of patterned papers and a mix of vintage and pop art graphic style images. I’m going with the more artsy ones for this project.

Loaded pockets are a great way to really dig into the collection and use as many of the patterns as your heart desires. As you can see I desired a lot of them!

Finishing the inside of the pocket not only makes it prettier but adds to the sturdiness. Don’t forget to finish the back!

You can fill the pocket with any kind of inserts you like. I created 2 that are folded so they can be filled with pictures for an untraditional scrapbook. There’s also a tag finished on the back with neutral paper so a sentiment can be added.

Consider using the smaller patterns on the insides of your inserts that way when you’ve filled them with pictures you can still enjoy the pattern showing from behind the layers. I love this lighthouse pattern as it reminds of our home here in Michigan. The great lakes and lighthouses are really part of our culture. We spend a lot of time around the water so this collection really appeals to me.

The journal cards are a great resource for images. I fussy cut these to take advantage of a smaller size and unique shape.
