Hello crafty friends! Today I’m participating in a very special team event with the crew at Authentique Papers.  We’re giving thanks and celebrating this oh so important holiday.  Make sure to stop by the Authentique Paper Blog to see the projects created by the designers.
Give Thanks is the most wonderful sentiment for this special holiday. I’m so appreciative of all the blessings I enjoy. My faith, my family and my health are gifts I am so very thankful for. I created this card with that thoughtful sentiment, layers of the patterned papers from the Gracious collection, and beautiful trimmings to coordinate.  From my home to yours I’m wishing you all a happy, healthy, and blessed holiday.

Lovely Leaves Challenge at Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog

Standard

Hey there crafty friends and welcome to another fun challenge with the crew at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog. The Lovely and talented Jenny is the host for this challenge…

“At this time of year leaves take over from flowers as the stars of Nature’s display – the deciduous ones take on beautiful Autumnal hues before falling to the ground, whilst the evergreen ones keep our gardens from looking bare as we wait for new flowers to appear in the Spring. For this challenge make sure to add leaves (or even Pine Needles if you like) to your vintage or shabby chic projects.”

I’ve created a card with a bit of a brand mash up.

Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mini Paper Stash Christmas Prima Christmas In The Country Flowers 02

The leaves for my project are holly leaves that I die cut from green cardstock then added a pretty subtle scripty pattern using the Prima Art Alchemy Stamp #6.

Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mini Paper Stash Christmas Prima Christmas In The Country Flowers 02

The gorgeous plaid patterned paper is the Tim Holtz Idea-olgy Mini Paper Stash Christmas.  I’ve used a gold mirror cardstock to highlight the layers.  Spacers between the layers helps to add dimension and helps to keep the patterns from looking busy.  There’s a strip of vellum covering the paper to neutralize the pattern in a small area so the sentiment will be easier to see.

Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mini Paper Stash Christmas Prima Christmas In The Country Flowers 03

These flowers are all Prima. They coordinate so well with that paid background. I’ve added metal charms in a holiday theme to go with the mirrored cardstock. A few vintage buttons and sequins are the perfect finishing touch.

Now it’s your turn to create a fabulous project featuring lovely leaves and link up with us at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog  to play along!

Be Joyful Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and Gypsy Soul fans! Ginny here to share a vintage inspired Christmas greeting card created with the gorgeous chippies from GSL.

Be Joyful Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

I just love the non-traditional color scheme for this card. I pulled that blue shade from the dress on the angel image.

Be Joyful Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

These papers are all G45 but come from different collections in my stash. I think they coordinate perfectly.

Be Joyful Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03
Using embossing powder on my chipboard pieces I was able to get a beautiful color match and a mottled frosty look.
Be Joyful Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 05
This frame has the most lovely snowflake and flourish details. I layered it over a non contrasting patterned paper so as not to loose  the gorgeous chippie in busy patterns.
Be Joyful Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

The frame had one corner without detail so I utilized that to add my flowers and a sweet little sparkly snowflake.

I carefully wiped down these chippies to prepare them for altering.

I covered the chippies in embossing powder then heat set it for a nice shiny finish.

The first layer of blue embossing powder was a bit too stark so I added a second layer of a shabby embossing powder that has white, blue, and gold particulates and this was heat set as well. Now the frame has a pretty frosty look. It’s not easy to see in the picture but I did add a second sparkly layer to the snowflakes as well.

Tis The Season Christmas Greeting Card P

Standard

Hey there crafty friends! Ginny here to share a very festive Christmas greeting card.

Christmas Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I’m using a combination of collections for Carta Bella and a tiniest bit of Tim Holtz.

Christmas Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

I had lots of fun adding layers here. Spacers in between helps to keep them from looking too busy.

Christmas Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

Flowers are arranged with die cut foliage, loopy twine bows and metallic accents. I’ve also added some pretty vintage buttons.

Christmas Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

The deer image was fussy cut from 3 x 4 journal cut apart.  I love that it’s like a silhouette  but also has texture. The sentiment was part of a different journal card. It’s layered over a glittery die cut star.

Gate Fold Christmas Greeting Card with Video Tutorial

Standard

Hello there friends and Authentique fans! Ginny here with an easy peasy tutorial for a gate fold Christmas greeting card created with the gorgeous Rejoice collection.

Dear Santa Gatefold Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

If you’re a fan of traditional holiday colors then you will love the Rejoice collection. It has that classic red and green but with updated patterns so it’s really fresh and new.

Dear Santa Gatefold Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

This card was inspired by the Santa image that was fussy cut from a journal card in the Enhancement paper pad.  Reminiscent of days gone by it’s just so perfectly vintage.  That Enhancement pad has sooo many cards you will have a tough time choosing a favorite.

Dear Santa Gatefold Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I used a combination of the 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 paper patterns and mixed and matched them to create the perfect base for the focal image.  There’s an additional polka dot  pattern die cut with a stitched cove corner that’s layered with a pretty gold doily.

Dear Santa Gatefold Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04
There’s some handmade by me flowers here in a sweet little arrangement with die cut leaves and loopy twine bows. The sentiment coordinates perfectly and comes from the sticker sheet.

This gate fold styled card leaves so much more real estate to cover with the lovely patterned papers.

Shabby Chic Shaker Christmas Deer Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Dropping in on this cold wintry morning to share a sweet and shabby chic inspired project.

Shabby Chic Deer Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I  just love the soft dreamy tones of this card. That lovely deer image comes from the Mintay Christmas Stories Collection.  The other paper patterns are from my stash chosen to go with the shabby theme.

Shabby Chic Deer Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

I’ve created a shaker using a large ornament shaped die then used a smaller circular die to remove the center.  That gorgeous speckle finish is created with embossing powder heat set for a shiny effect. The sequins coordinate perfectly and add so much sparkle.

Shabby Chic Deer Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

I used a fair bit of faux snow for a frosty effect and also to soften the edges of the wood grain patterned paper.

Shabby Chic Deer Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 05

Loads of beautiful holiday flowers are made by me and arranged with tiny frosted pine cones , loopy twine bows, and glitter stars.

Shabby Chic Deer Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

A second smaller arrangement for this top corner to balance the design.  Gold mirror cardstock die cut to the shape of foliage is added and accented with shiny berry stems.

Shabby Chic Deer Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 06

The sentiment is a fussy cut banner from the collection that’s  draped across the corner layered over a die cut doily.

Shabby Chic Deer Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 07

Crystal drops and real vintage buttons are the perfect finishing touch.

We’re creating projects using the Silver and Gold Mix November Ribbon Club Assortment.November Ribbon Club Assortment

You should be coming to me from my friend Gloria. If you’re just joining in  hop on over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog to start at the beginning.

I created a whimsical and dreamy Christmas Greeting Card…

Silent Night Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I love the non-traditional colors of this holiday card!

Silent Night Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

I was inspired by the pretty silver ribbon to create a card with stars for a celestial look.

Silent Night Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Since the silver ribbon anchors this holiday card I coordinated the die cut leaves, and Christmas charms to it for a consistent look.

Silent Night Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

Flowers here create a pretty arrangement. Some are ready made and some are made by me. Faux snow added to the edges of the layers give a wintry effect.

A second smaller cluster of flowers on top for balance. This pretty paper collection is from Stamperia.

Your next stop in the hop is Miss Cheryl.

Let It Snow Christmas Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps!  I’m sharing a card today with a sentiment that I don’t exactly agree with…but since it’s actually snowing right now I guess it’s the perfect time.

Let It Snow Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

It would seem I’m a bit obsessed with red and blue for Christmas this year.  I think because so many of the ephemera packs I’ve picked up have a more whimsical theme like this cute little snow globe with the itty bitty chalet.

Let It Snow Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02 Now that I’m writing this up I see that none of the elements come from the same collection lol.  I do seem to work mostly from collections but this card evolved from flipping through the Christmas stash just grabbing things I thought went together.

Let It Snow Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Solid cardstock borders helps the patterns from looking too busy. Spacers between the layers helps too!

Let It Snow Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

Crepe fringe is always so fun and festive on greeting cards. I made this with 6 layers of crepe topped with tinsel pipe cleaner so it would look extra full and poofy. There’s a second sentiment die cut from another piece from the ephemera pack that’s layered with more of the patterned paper.

Let It Snow Christmas Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 05

Some flowers here are ready made and some made by me.  Alternating the size and colors make for a more interesting arrangement. I’ve tucked in some die cut foliage, loopy twine bows and tiny pine cones as well.  A pretty coordinating bow, vintage buttons, and metal snowflake charm are the perfect finishing touches.

Fabulous Fall Challenge at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps!  Time again for another fun challenge at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog.  This time around I’m hosting the challenge and I thought it was a great time for a Fall theme…..

“It’s the wonderful season where the leaves are changing and the air is crisp and our thoughts turn to pumpkin spice everything.  For this challenge create a Fall inspired project.”

Prima Autumn Sunset A4 Paper Pad Ephemera Haystack Flowers Ice Resin Ranger Liquid Platinum Polly's Paper Studio 01

I created a double easel card using the gorgeous Autumn Sunset by Prima.

Prima Autumn Sunset A4 Paper Pad Ephemera Haystack Flowers Ice Resin Ranger Liquid Platinum Polly's Paper Studio 02

One great thing about easel cards that’s so great is all the extra real estate you have to cover with pretty papers.

Prima Autumn Sunset A4 Paper Pad Ephemera Haystack Flowers Ice Resin Ranger Liquid Platinum Polly's Paper Studio 07

They also stand up so nicely they can be used as seasonal decor.

Prima Autumn Sunset A4 Paper Pad Ephemera Haystack Flowers Ice Resin Ranger Liquid Platinum Polly's Paper Studio 03

I’ve used elements from the ephemera pack to become the focal image as well as extra added details tucked into the flowers.

Prima Autumn Sunset A4 Paper Pad Ephemera Haystack Flowers Ice Resin Ranger Liquid Platinum Polly's Paper Studio 04

The lovely background paper behind the deer comes from the Tim Holtz Worn Wall Paper pack.  It’s die cut with a border of glittery cardstock.  I’ve added some scripty text to the paper used for the background and the banner with a gorgeous stamp with embossing powder then heat set for a shiny finish.

These flowers are from the collection and they coordinate so perfectly. I’ve included some die cut glittery leaves, and loopy twine bows.

There’s a bit of gold netting ribbon and glass glitter added to the arrangements for a bit of sparkler.
