Day 7 of 13 Days of Halloween Vintage 31 Wall Hanging

Standard

Hello there friends and Authentique Paper fans! Ginny here to share a very vintagy home decor project I created using the amazing Twilight collection.  There are not enough words to describe how much I love this collection. It is my absolute favorite of all time!

Vintage Halloween Frame Decor Polly's Paper Studio 07

Here’s a close up look at the center of the frame. Ohhhh those layers makes me sooo happy!

I started with a discount store frame that I altered to add age and detail.

This sweet little witch was the inspiration for this project. I clipped her out of one of the journal cards and layered her over all those holiday details.

These fabby flowers are created with the gorgeous plaid from the 8 x 8 paper pad and arranged with other handmade by me blooms, glitter stars, and sparkly berry stems.

That fun bold striped pattern makes the perfect base for these embellishments.

The 8 x 8 paper pad has just the right scale to add to smaller projects. Those micro bats can be seen under the large glittery spider.

More flowers for this corner helps to balance the larger arrangement on the bottom. Last but not least is hand dyed cheesecloth, chunky chipboard numbers, and an altered flourish frame.

Day 3 of 13 Days of Halloween Snow Globe Greeting Card with Tutorial

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Thanks for joining me for day 3 of our 13 Days of Halloween series on YouTube. Today I’m extending the use of my Christmas supplies and working as many of them as I can into my Halloween greeting card.

Halloween Snow Globe Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I’m working with the new Simple Stories Collection Happy Haunting. It’s so perfect with the addition of the pink into the classic orange and black! It’s very updated but still vintagy.

Halloween Snow Globe Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

I was able to work in a fair few Christmas supplies like the dies for the flowers, branches and leaves, and the snow globe cut from a Christmas cartridge on the Cricut.

Halloween Snow Globe Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

I love me a good plaid for every season and this one is spooktacular with the spiderweb pattern layered over top. I’m using a charcoal gray cardstock throughout so the black accents don’t compete with the borders.

Halloween Snow Globe Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

It’s not often you get to incorporate pink flowers into a spooky flower arrangement so I was pretty excited to include these here. All the flowers here are made by me and layered with glittery die cuts, and silver twine bows.

Halloween Snow Globe Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 05

I’ve added some ephemera from the collection as dimensional accents for a bit of depth. Last but not least some metal charms hung from a pretty plaid bow.

I’m using the Tim Holtz Ideology Abandoned  Paper Pad along with the Ephemera packs to create these spooktacular trio of treat bags.

These Ephemera pieces were so much fun to mix and match!

The bags have layers of trims at the bottom for texture and detail.

Coordinating polka dot ribbon bows layered with vintage buttons at the top of the bags helps to give a consistent look.

I created the handles with handcrafted tinsel topped crepe fringe.

Each bag has a paper rosette with a scalloped glitter accent and a piece from the Ephemera pack.

There’s a small doily on each bag and a larger image from the ephemera pack creating a great background for the embellishments.

These bags are great for gifting a treat….but they are equally ideal to use as seasonal decor.

Day 1 of 13 Days of Halloween Series Trick or Treat Halloween Card with Tutorial

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! So excited to share that we’ve begun our 13 Days of Halloween series on our YouTube channel! So many special projects coming your way with video tutorials.

For today’s project I created a fun and retro inspired Halloween greeting card using the Trick or Treat collection brand new from Echo Park…

Trick or Treat Halloween Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I do love the collections that have more unique color combinations for holidays but there’s just something about the classic orange and black!

Trick or Treat Halloween Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

I used a smaller focal point instead of my regular large one and paired it with a larger sentiment.

Trick or Treat Halloween Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

That cheeky retro cat image was part of a larger journal card. I simply fussy cut it out leaving a mall white border so it would pop off the background.

Trick or Treat Halloween Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

Handmade flowers are created with Halloween patterns to perfectly coordinate with this holiday card.

Ribbon trims, die cut glitter stars, and metal charms are the perfect finishing touch.

Thankful For You Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here to share a very Fall inspired greeting card created with my fav trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Isn’t that Ivory/Brown/Copper Plaid just perfectly warm and rich? I love it paired with the Antique Gold Burlap String. This beautiful paper collection is Autumn Sunset from Prima. I think you can tell that I’m obsessed with it as this is my third project created with it.

That bow creates the anchor for this coordinating flower arrangement. These are the Autumn Sunset flowers that go with the collection. I’ve also tucked in some leaves die cut from glitter paper to add a little sparkle.

Fall inspired charms, vintage buttons, and a metal clip are the perfect finishing touch to this seasonal card.

Vintage Dragonfly Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here to share a card I created with the Wonderland collection from Stamperia. I picked up this collection as part of my design team allotment from The Funkie Junkie Boutique. I kinda think it’s rather dreamy : )

Those colors are so soft and delicate. The floral print on the wing of the dragonfly makes it very whimsical.

I’ve done a fair bit of layering here with spacers between to really build up the bulk on this card. The edges have been heavily distresses as well for texture.

Sewing machine stitching adds loads of extra detail. Some parts have thread…some do not. This helps the vintagy vibe.

Prima flowers combined with Little Birdie Crafts flowers create a nice full arrangement with die cut foliage and loopy twine bows tucked in. I’ve even included a bit of netting with gold sparkle.

This large key charm is from the FJB shop and has a lovely verdigris patina. I love when things come with instant age. Last but not least is some actual vintage buttons, sequins, and Prills.

Skeleton Arch Halloween Decor with Tutorial

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here to share a spooktacular off the page holiday project.

It’s a little bit cheeky and a little bit whimsical and a lotta bit fun!

I had a good play in my mixed media supplies. I wish I had more time to explore with these crafty stash items as it was sooo much fun.  And also messy lol.

I went for a fairly traditional color scheme here and was able to use some of my handcrafted flowers to embellish it.

I selected the chippies I wanted to use and wiped them down to prepare them for altering.

I gave the backside of the arch a simple coat of black paint Then allowed it to dry. I loosly traced the shape onto patterned paper. No need to worry about fussy cutting as the raw edge will be hidden under the next layer of chipboard. I painted the skeleton in flat white acrylic but the camera ate the picture so I can’t show you that step.

More flat black paint for the top of the arch and spiderweb. I made sure to coat the outside and inside edge of the arch for a nice finished look all the way around.

Starting a base for the finished arch top. A little black embossing powder added randomly then heat set adds texture and a bit of shine.

I did the same process for then next two colors of embossing powder alternating and heat setting between each color.

A little Stickles added to the spiderweb for detail.

Boo Halloween Mini Album for Authentique Paper

Standard

Hello there friends and Authentique Paper fans! Ginny here with a fun and festive mini album created with the new Twilight collection. Let me just tell you this assortment of patterned papers and vintage images is next level awesome!  This might possibly turn out to be my fav Halloween collection I’ve ever had.

When there is a collection with sooo many gorgeous patterns you can be sure I will make a mini album so I don’t have to choose only a few. I did in fact use every pattern in this book!

I’m working with a 4 x 9 size which is really fun to fill in with pictures and memories. This is also pretty chunky coming in at almost an inch deep.  As you can image with all these paper layers it’s also heavy and sturdy.

I cut the focal image with a circle die and added a border of black cardstock. This gives me room to add fun embellishing like handmade flowers, metal charms, and glittery stars.  I’ve also incorporated several of the stickers to complete the arrangement.

The first set of inside pages have tip ins so I can conceal some space for journaling to be added behind the larger image tags.

To add detail without bulk I included a die cut frame and topped it with some die cut leaves, glitter star, and more of those great stickers.

There’s a pocket page here as well with a large tag tucked inside. The clip holds an additional die cut framed image with lined paper on the back.

You all know how much I love my full page tip ins! So much room for pictures and memories.  A simple sticker banner on top is the perfect accent for pages that fold up flat.

The last set of pages have corner pockets and tags.  Even more tags layered on and secured with a clip because you can never have enough room in a mini album.

I had fun layering the die cuts with the vintage images. I was even able to work in some of that gold mirror cardstock that makes holiday projects even more festive.

Please enjoy this video I’ve prepared…….
