Hey there friends as crafty peeps! Time again to announce another fun challenge at Frilly & Funkie. The host for this challenge is: Sara Emily
Challenge Theme: Let’s Do It Again!
Have you ever made something that you wish you could do over? Perhaps it was a technique you tried and didn’t get the results you were hoping for. Maybe you didn’t have just the right product you wanted to make your project just perfect. Or maybe a friend asked you to make something like it for them. Now’s your chance for a do-over. Choose one of your own posted vintage or shabby chic projects and do it over with a bit of a twist. Be sure to link back to the post of the project you are making over and tell us why you wanted to do it a second time and what’s different about it this time. We like to see your entry be in the vintage or shabby chic style we prefer.
When I saw this challenge theme I knew exactly what I wanted to re-create. I made a Pocket with Tags at Christmas time and thought it would work so well for a non-holiday project! I choose the gorgeous Prima Apricot Honey collections and made a very shabby chic version of my pocket with tags….
This time around I constructed the base with a bit more room in the pocket so I could use more paper layers and embellishments.
The pocket base is created with sturdy cardstock and all the layers have a pretty gray border.
I’ve also built in a spacer inside to keep the inserts at jut the right height.
Like the original there’s a tag clipped onto the the front for extra room for flowers and trims. These lovely blooms are the Prima Fruit Paradise Ripe Berry assortment. They coordinate perfectly!
The A4 sized Prima Apricot Honey Paper Pad is just wide enough to create a dimensional rosette. I topped it with a scalloped circle of silver mirror paper and a butterfly punched from the collection paper. More flowers and trims complete this corner.
Here’s the pocket without the inserts.
And without the tag clipped on.
There’s 2 tags and 1 smaller folded insert. Plenty of room to add pictures and journaling. And maybe a gift card?
The larger folded insert is like a sweet little booklet ready to be filled up and enjoyed.
As always, the Design Team will choose their top four picks, and the winner will be invited to join us in a Guest DT spot at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog. The next three will receive Top 3 badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and follows the rules will be entered into the draw to have the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. I hope you will whip up a fabulous project featuring metallics and join us on the Frilly and funkie Blog to play along.
Wishing everyone a happy and productive day : ) G
