Gingham Cherry Tag Greeting Card created for Amazing Paper Grace.

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps!  I’m happy to be sharing the card I created for Amazing Paper Grace Dies but also a little sad as this is my final project for my August Guest Design Team  term.  I had such a great time creating with these beautifully styled and well made dies. If you haven’t checked them out yet I highly recommend you hop over to the Becca Feeken section at Spellbinders. I promise you will be just as impressed with them as I am.

Cherry Tag Greeting Card Polly's paper Studio 02

I’m using the Sweetheart Swirl and Nestablilities Hemstitch Oval dies for this card.

Cherry Tag Greeting Card Polly's paper Studio 03

You really can’t ask for a better scaled die for 5 x 6 1/2 inch cards. It just fits so well.

Cherry Tag Greeting Card Polly's paper Studio 01

I’ve layered the  oval onto the swirl so I could add a smaller tag as my focal point. Bonus is the gorgeous stitching lines. That  extra layer really adds so much detail.

Cherry Tag Greeting Card Polly's paper Studio 04

There’s a pretty arrangement of flowers here layered with some loopy twine bows and foliage.

Last but not least is a shimmery bow of pink organza, metal birdcage charms, and pretty pearly accents.

I just want to give a quick but very heartfelt thanks to Becca for the  generous supply of dies to create with and for the opportunity to work with your amazing team for August.

Wishing you all a happy and productive day : ) G

Let’s Do It Again Challenge at Funkie Junkie

Standard

Hello friends and crafty peeps!  Time again for another fun challenge at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog.  I’m so enjoying these awesome themes to spark my creativity!

Host for this challenge is Suzz:

“Do you have a pile of leftover scraps from projects previously made or even a half finished project waiting for you to get the time to complete it?   This is the challenge for you!  It is time to pull out those scraps, remnants or half finished projects and pull them together into a fabulous shabby chic or vintage project.  Make sure to mention in your post what part of your project was a scrap or remnant.”

My take on this theme is to use only paper that has already been cut into and packages that have already been opened.

Prima Fruit Paradise A4 Paper Pad Ripe Berry Flowers Citrus Twist Flowers Ice Resin Cabochon 01

I’m using a combination of Prima Fruit Paradise and Apricot Honey for this very layered card.

For added texture and detail I’ve used a distress tool to tatter the edges then added the patterned papers to gray cardstock.

These pretty Prima flowers are arranged with some made by me. I’ve tucked in die cut leaves, twine bows, cabochons, and altered heart charm.

The focal point  is an image from the cut apart sheet clipped into a tag shape then topped with an eyelet and waxed twine.

As always, the Design Team will choose their top four picks, and the winner will be invited to join us in a Guest DT spot at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog. Celebrate Greeting Card for Amazing Paper Grace Dies

Standard

Hello there friends and Crafty peeps. Dropping in today to share a card I created for Amazing Paper Grace using the  Venice Lace DieBlessed Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

Let me just tell you how amazing this die is! The square shape is perfect for 6 x 6 cards….which you all know is my favorite to make.

Blessed Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I especially love that there’s some areas that are not as intricate so they show up well even on patterned papers.

Blessed Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

I was able to use the smaller pieces to layer under the sentiment. It’s a great way to fill in around a smaller focal point.

Blessed Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

I’ve selected a variety of flowers and layered them with twine and leaves for a nice arrangement.

Last but not least a pretty lilac bow and some metal charms.

Celebrate Bee Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Dropping in today with a shabby chic inspired greeting card.

Celebrate Bee Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

Pink and gray are hands down my favorite color combination.  Just so perfectly vintagy!

Celebrate Bee Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I’m combining elements from different collections for this card. That’s a great way to get a truly unique look.

Celebrate Bee Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Double matting is also an option to affect the look of a card. For this card gray would have been too flat and pink would have been to light….so I combined them.

Celebrate Bee Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

I’ve layered the flowers also. There’s a bit of netting tucked in for fullness and loopy twine bows and die cut foliage to complete the arrangement.

Celebrate Bee Card Polly's Paper Studio 05

Last but not least a pretty gray satin bow topped with a vintage button and a large bee charm.

Haunted House Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps!  Ginny here to share a very mixed media styled card. I was inspired to create a background with Distress Inks and once I had it done I knew just what holiday chippie I wanted to use…..

Haunted House Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I know it’s a bit early for Halloween but I really wanted to play with those inks lol.

Haunted House Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

With all the detail in the background I knew I needed a large bold graphic focal point.

Haunted House Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01
I was even able to incorporate the extra piece I had trimmed from the top as an extra embellishment.

Here’s that chippie. It’s the haunted house oval. I wiped it down to prepare it for altering.

I clipped off the top of the oval to make it fit better on my card and not hide the inked background.

Black embossing powder was a great way to get a nice finish quickly.  I went back and altered the bats on that mini moon that I originally planned to discard.  It fit perfectly on the top of the card as an extra added detail.

I Love School Mini Album & Decor Box for Authentique Paper

Standard

Hello there friends and Authentique Fans! Ginny here to share a fun back to school inspired mini album that’s just the perfect size to fit into a coordinating decor box. I’m using the Scholastic collection and even though I do not have grade school aged children anymore it was to create with.

I love School Mini Album & Decor Box Polly's Paper Studio 01
I started with a ready made paper mache box and covered it in layers of the patterned papers.  This box has a cut out portion on top but I decided instead to cover that and add my detail in layers with spacers between for loads of depth and dimension. These flowers are all created with the Authentique papers. This arrangement is nice and full and helps to fill in the space by the tag focal point. The tag as well as the other sentiment are stickers from the 12 x 12 sheet.
I love School Mini Album & Decor Box Polly's Paper Studio 02

I covered the “spine” like it was a book with that gorgeous plaid. The blue cardstock is the Old Glory Spectrum also from Authentique Papers. I think it goes pretty well with that plaid! A few additional details on the front are die cut stars from gold mirror paper, sequins, and an apple charm and vintage button.

I love School Mini Album & Decor Box Polly's Paper Studio 03

The sides are finished with that lettering print. I elected to leave the box in it’s natural Kraft color as I think it works really well with the yellow in the patterned papers.

I love School Mini Album & Decor Box Polly's Paper Studio 04

I decorated the front of the mini album with additional flowers and an image from the cut apart sheet.  Remember this mini has to fit inside the box so I couldn’t add tooo many bulky items to the front.

I love School Mini Album & Decor Box Polly's Paper Studio 05

Completing the inside was a simple matter of mixing and matching the patterns . I was able to utilize some of the off cuts created from the outside of the box.

I love School Mini Album & Decor Box Polly's Paper Studio 06

The stickers from the collection make great accents that are flat so they don’t add bulk.

Larger die cut doilies topped with the patterned papers make perfect picture mats!

Each of the pages have a tip in created with the cut apart journal cards. On the back is lined paper so it’s easy to document the memories that go with the pictures.

This mini is pretty chunky and fits perfectly in the box.

Let’s Do It Again Pocket with Tags for Frilly & Funkie

Standard

Hey there friends as crafty peeps!  Time again to announce another fun challenge at Frilly & Funkie. The host for this challenge is: Sara Emily
Challenge Theme: Let’s Do It Again!

Have you ever made something that you wish you could do over? Perhaps it was a technique you tried and didn’t get the results you were hoping for. Maybe you didn’t have just the right product you wanted to make your project just perfect. Or maybe a friend asked you to make something like it for them. Now’s your chance for a do-over. Choose one of your own posted vintage or shabby chic projects and do it over with a bit of a twist. Be sure to link back to the post of the project you are making over and tell us why you wanted to do it a second time and what’s different about it this time. We like to see your entry be in the vintage or shabby chic style we prefer.

When I saw this challenge theme I knew exactly what I wanted to re-create.  I made a Pocket with Tags at Christmas time and thought it would work so well for a non-holiday project! I choose the gorgeous Prima Apricot Honey collections and made a very shabby chic version of my pocket with tags….

Prima Aprilcot Honey A4 Paper Pad Chipboard Stickers Prima Ripe Berry Flowers Prima Fruit Paradise Pocket with Tags Frilly and Funkie 02

This time around I constructed the base with a bit more room in the pocket so I could use more paper layers and embellishments.

The pocket base is created with sturdy cardstock and all the layers have a pretty gray border.

I’ve also built in a spacer inside to keep the inserts at jut the right height.

Like the original there’s a tag clipped onto the the front for extra room for flowers and trims. These lovely blooms are the Prima Fruit Paradise Ripe Berry assortment. They coordinate perfectly!

The A4 sized Prima Apricot Honey Paper Pad is just wide enough to create a dimensional rosette. I topped it with a scalloped circle of silver mirror paper and a butterfly punched from the collection paper. More flowers and trims complete this corner.

Here’s the pocket without the inserts.

And without the tag clipped on.

There’s 2 tags and 1 smaller folded insert. Plenty of room to add pictures and journaling.  And maybe a gift card?

The larger folded insert is like a sweet little booklet ready to be filled up and enjoyed.
