12 Days of Christmas in July day 4 Rejoice Loaded Pocket with Tutorial

Standard

Hello there friends and Authentique fans!  Well the new collections have come out and I could not be more excited to get to work with them. The timing was oh so perfect as I have a series for the 12 Days of Christmas in July and the Rejoice collection is ah-mazing!  You could not ask for more plaids, gorgeous images, and a full book of journal cut aparts!  Yes you read that correctly. There’s also a full sized sticker sheet as well and die cuts.

Of course I can’t ever choose from the fabulous papers so I picked as many as I could and created a totally loaded layered pocket.

With this many layers to fill I was able to work in loads of the journal cut aparts and found that they cut with a tag shaped die to create the perfectly sized additions for the pockets.

Okay this vignette makes me all kinds of happy. So many inserts and embellishments made with the die cuts and patterned papers.  I’ve created a focal image with the fussy cut ornament and layered it over some fun gold mirror cardstock then added handmade by me flowers, and other festive add ons.
The small folded insert even has a rosette created with a topper of holly leaves.

A tabbed topped insert makes this large pocket even taller and adds loads of room for pictures and journaling.  The tags were finished with twine and buttons and flowers. I took advantage of two identically shaped die cuts and added them  back to back with some spacers to hold a large clip to add to the pocket.

Here’s the paper pretties I added to the pockets. There’s still room for additional items to be tucked in like favorite family mementos and holiday keepsakes.

Please enjoy this process video of how you can create a layered pocket base for your very own loaded pocket…
