Proud American Patriotic Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends! Ginny here with a fun and festive patriotic greeting card. I think this card would make a pretty great little holiday decor item displayed with your other seasonal favorites. Summer holidays are always so much fun!

Proud American Patriotic Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

All I can say is hooray for the red white and blue! This is the Liberty collection from Authentique Papers.

Proud American Patriotic Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01  There’s a fabby chipboard framing that lovely lady and it fits the card perfectly!

Proud American Patriotic Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I used navy cardstock matting to keep the busy patterns from looking too crazy.

There’s a lovely arrangement of flowers here all from WOC.  It’s filled in with berry stems, die cut foliage, shiny silver stars, and loopy twine bows.

I’ve finished off the card with a loopy twine bow, vintage button, and seasonal charms.

Cards with Confection Collection for Authentique Papers

Standard

Hello there friends and Authentique Fans! Ginny here with a selection of cards created with the oh so fun Confection Collection.  I expected to like this collection but once I stared playing with it I could not stop! I mean it has sprinkles and doughnuts and ice creams!

Confection Cards Polly's Paper Studio

The bright colors really drew me in as well as the whimsical images.

Just Add Sprinkles Shaker Greeting Cards Polly's Paper Studio 02

This first card is a shaker. I could not resist topping that cone with a sequin mix perfect for the ice cream colors.  Looks like cherry and pistachio?  I cut the frame and added the fun sentiment from the die cut sheet then topped it with coordinating flowers. That gorgeous minty color is Spectrum  Robin’s Egg Cardstock. not only for the frame but also to mat the patterned papers.

Hey There Cupcake Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

Since I didn’t need to leave room for a large frame for this card I was able to work in more of those patterned papers.  The image is cut with a circle die and popped up on foam spacers for loads of dimension. It also has a border of the sweet pink pattern on the back of the cut apart sheet. More flowers here and another sentiment…this time added with spacers to make it more of a focal element.  The Be Happy image clipped to the top of the card is actually the center cut from the doughnut image from one of the other cards. I think it looks pretty cute added as a secondary sentiment.

Dessert Shaker Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Here is another shaker card. This time instead of the focal image being inside the shaker I chose to create a mini shaker and added it to the sentiment.  It’s fun and it helps to make sense of the large yellow block on the mostly pink and blue color scheme. I didn’t include flowers on this card but there are added details like the sequins, crisp white doily, and another clipped on die cut.

Enjoy Doughnuts Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Last but not least is the Enjoy Doughnuts card. Once again I got out my circle die to trim this image from it’s background. There’s a layer of that sweet pink border and the center was cut out so I could tuck in the sentiment. I liked the idea of including that sprinkle pattern instead of leaving it all pink in the center. Coordinating flowers are arranged with some loopy twine bows and leaves cut from holographic cardstock. A simple bow and sequins and this is one sweet greeting card.

Dream Catcher Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends! Ginny here with a nearly mixed media project. Why is it nearly? Well I didn’t get out all the jams and jellies and create my own background but I did add inks to already gorgeous patterned papers and some Prills for fabulous texture. Andd I altered the chipboard so I think that counts right? lol

Dream Catcher Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

The inspiration for this card was the starry patterned paper.  Of course I decided it looked like a whimsical night sky so I searched through my chippies and found a dream catcher. What luck!

Dream Catcher Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

Because the chippie is long and narrow…or short and wide depending on how you arrange it…I thought it lent itself to a 4 x 9 card. It really becomes a focal point as it takes up most of the center of the card.

Dream Catcher Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

The dream catcher is finished with a base coat of flat white acrylic paint then topped of with an embossing powder that’s mostly white but also has flecks of blue and gold. It makes it look like I did way more work to get a mottled finish.  Another fun stash find was the acrylic moon charms, they are large…but clear…so they don’t overwhelm that top corner. I finished it off with a pretty loopy bow and vintage button.

Dream Catcher Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

The florals coordinate perfectly and follow the curve of the chippie. Since I added moon charms I thought why not some stars as well? They are die cut from holographic cardstock for extra sparkle.  Once the arrangement was complete I adhered some Prills in random places to bring that texture that I love. I’ve also included it in the areas around the card that I had distress and squished up a bit. Last but not least is a few flat back pearly accents.

Yougster Mini Album for Authentique

Standard

Hello there friends and Authentique Paper Fans! Happy Friday to you all. I’m kicking off the weekend by sharing a super fun and retro inspired mini album created with the amazing Youngster Collection.  This selection of great patterned papers and retro images really has my heart. And did I mention plaid???? What’s not to love!

Youngster Mini Album Polly's Paper Studio 01

Of course the inspiration for this mini is that cute image from the Elements Cardstock Die Cuts.  I love me a good scalloped die cut! It’s layered on another image from that Elements sheet. It was a little short so I simply clipped it and joined it with a schneaky little gap in the back and voila a perfect fit.  I’ve worked in a smallish doily die cut from crisp white cardstock to break up the busy patterns.  The large scalloped rectangle was fussy cut from one of the larger journal cards and was the deciding factor on the size of the cover. Popped up on spacers it really is a great frame for the rest of the layers.   Coordinating flowers, sequins, and trims make fabby details and it’s all tied up with pretty satin ribbon.

Youngster Mini Album Polly's Paper Studio 02

Utilizing an oval die cut topped with the collection paper and matching image the right hand page is just perfect for framing a larger picture. The left side has a tip in with one of the journal cut aparts.

Youngster Mini Album Polly's Paper Studio 03
Opening the tip in reveals a nice full page of that glorious plaid. So much room for pictures and journaling! I’ve used a double matting throughout not only because it looks cool but it also adds a great deal of weight and sturdiness.
Youngster Mini Album Polly's Paper Studio 04

With the next flip this mini shows a second page with a journal card tip in as well as a pocket holding a folded insert decorated of course with the super fun images.

Youngster Mini Album Polly's Paper Studio 05

The tip ins and the insert are all finished with the Spectrum cardstock with a subtle tone on tone pattern great for journaling and memory keeping.

Memories Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here with a very sweet and retro inspired greeting card.

Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

I super love this large Flourished Frame Missy  for adding between the layers of the paper.

Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03
It’s really the perfect size for this 5 x 6 1/2 inch card.
Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01
I also love that it’s quite a chunky frame so it works really well on that busy plaid background.
Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 05
I layered my chippies for a dimensional look. The Honeycomb has a different scale and finish so you don’t loose it’s unique details.
Memories Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04
Of course I’m finishing this card as I do with flowers, ribbon, and a metal charm.
Here’s that lovely frame. I had a picture of how it looked after finishing it with flat white acrylic paint…but seems like the camera ate the picture : (
Gold Pearlescents creates a subtly shiny but not too bold of a finish for the honeycomb.
