Endless Fancy Fold Card Authentique w/Tutorial

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here to share that I am in love with fancy fold cards! It’s always such a struggle to decide what collection papers to use when you like them all. With a fancy fold you have wayyyyy more surface space to cover so more papers can be added! For this card I’m using the gorgeous Endless collection.
This collection has all the vintagyness but with updated colors and patterns. It’s basically perfect!

This card is a top folding orientation with the bulk of the layering and embellishing contained on the flap so I can get all my usual details without interfering with the function.
With all the paper layers this card is realllly sturdy and heavy.

For a focal image I used a die cut gold mirror cardstock frame on one of the journal card cut aparts and stacked it onto a double layer of doily. Layered elements from the diecut sheet are arranged onto a tag created with the collection papers and topped with an eyelet cut from the same mirror paper.

Coordinating flowers and trims to accent the lovely vintagy patterns and metal charms are the perfect finishing touch.

Pink and Gold Cards

Standard

Hello there crafty friends!  I’m here to confess I am truly obsessed with pink and gold.  I’ve always been more of a silver person but that gold snuck in and stole my heart!

There is Always Something to Smile About Polly's Paper Studio 02

This card is a fun shaker so I could work in some additional gold in the form of sequins.

There is Always Something to Smile About Polly's Paper Studio 03

To make the pink pop I layered it over a bold black diagonal stripe.  And yes a shneanky bit of the mirror cardstock to mat the layers.

There is Always Something to Smile About Polly's Paper Studio 04

This beautiful arrangement of flowers is all Little Birdie Crafts. Instead of adding green foliage I die cut the leaves from the same charcoal gray cardstock as the matting layers.

Hello There Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

For this card that gold comes in on the sentiment focal image.  I die cut a little frame from white cardstock to help keep the patterns from looking busy. There’s a layer of Stickles on it to give it a bit of sparkle.

Hello There Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 06

There’s layers of the journal cut aparts from the collection. The tag was cut with a die then topped with a matching reinforce and twine. Pretty pearly accents and sequins help to fill in the corners.

More flowers here with that shiny twine and a bit of sparkly netting to fill in.

Happiness Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

This card has a fun graphic sentiment with a frame but this time in a square share.

Happiness Shaker Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

I’ve gone off the rails with the gold accent on this card using the foiled polka dot as a large background pattern.

A large white doily and skeleton leaves breaks of the busy patterns.

Happy Father’s Day from the Crew at Authentique Papers

Standard

Hey there friends and crafty peeps! Today the crew at Authentique Papers are celebrating all things Father with some very special projects created with Dad in mind.

World's Greatest Shaker Masculine Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Trying to decide between a fancy fold and a shaker card here and thought why not both?

World's Greatest Shaker Masculine Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

Adding the frame for the shaker allowed me to fussy cut and layer some of the cut apart images  without the rough edges showing.

World's Greatest Shaker Masculine Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 05

The fold in the front gives me room to add a schneaky extra pattern for contrast. I’ve added a double layer of the Spectrum cardstock which not only looks really nice but adds to the sturdiness of the card. Remember it’s holding a lot of weight with the shaker on front.

World's Greatest Shaker Masculine Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

The flowers are all handmade by me. Some with the paper from Authentique and some fabricyer ones. Yes that’s a made up word lol. I’ve also used the collection paper to die cut the foliage.

A few more flowers to finish the top and some sentiments from the sticker sheet.

Happy Day Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Happy Wednesday to all of you : ) I’ve got a very purpley card to share today.  I do love purple but I don’t work with it often enough.

Happy Day Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

This card is so bright and cheerful and of course it’s got plaid to make it even more funner!

Happy Day Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

The paper is from the gorgeous Frosted collection from Authentique Papers. It’s originally meant for winter and Christmas but I added my own images that coordinated with the colors to make it more spring inspired.

Happy Day Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

A gray cardstock matting keeps the patterns from looking too busy and spacers add a lot of depth and dimension.

Happy Day Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

Here’s a garden full of lovely flowers arranged with die cut foliage and loopy twine bows.

Happy Day Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 05

An altered chipboard frame becomes the base to layer all the pretty elements on and creates a sort of wreath effect. A sweet stamped sentiment on a die cut stitched label and matching sequins are the perfect finishing touch.

I used navy cardstock matting to keep the busy patterns from looking too crazy.

There’s a lovely arrangement of flowers here all from WOC.  It’s filled in with berry stems, die cut foliage, shiny silver stars, and loopy twine bows.

Cards with Confection Collection for Authentique Papers

Standard

Hello there friends and Authentique Fans! Ginny here with a selection of cards created with the oh so fun Confection Collection.  I expected to like this collection but once I stared playing with it I could not stop! I mean it has sprinkles and doughnuts and ice creams!

Confection Cards Polly's Paper Studio

The bright colors really drew me in as well as the whimsical images.

Just Add Sprinkles Shaker Greeting Cards Polly's Paper Studio 02

This first card is a shaker. I could not resist topping that cone with a sequin mix perfect for the ice cream colors.  Looks like cherry and pistachio?  I cut the frame and added the fun sentiment from the die cut sheet then topped it with coordinating flowers. That gorgeous minty color is Spectrum  Robin’s Egg Cardstock. not only for the frame but also to mat the patterned papers.

Hey There Cupcake Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

Since I didn’t need to leave room for a large frame for this card I was able to work in more of those patterned papers.  The image is cut with a circle die and popped up on foam spacers for loads of dimension. It also has a border of the sweet pink pattern on the back of the cut apart sheet. More flowers here and another sentiment…this time added with spacers to make it more of a focal element.  The Be Happy image clipped to the top of the card is actually the center cut from the doughnut image from one of the other cards. I think it looks pretty cute added as a secondary sentiment.

Dessert Shaker Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Here is another shaker card. This time instead of the focal image being inside the shaker I chose to create a mini shaker and added it to the sentiment.  It’s fun and it helps to make sense of the large yellow block on the mostly pink and blue color scheme. I didn’t include flowers on this card but there are added details like the sequins, crisp white doily, and another clipped on die cut.

Enjoy Doughnuts Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

Last but not least is the Enjoy Doughnuts card. Once again I got out my circle die to trim this image from it’s background. There’s a layer of that sweet pink border and the center was cut out so I could tuck in the sentiment. I liked the idea of including that sprinkle pattern instead of leaving it all pink in the center. Coordinating flowers are arranged with some loopy twine bows and leaves cut from holographic cardstock. A simple bow and sequins and this is one sweet greeting card.

Dream Catcher Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends! Ginny here with a nearly mixed media project. Why is it nearly? Well I didn’t get out all the jams and jellies and create my own background but I did add inks to already gorgeous patterned papers and some Prills for fabulous texture. Andd I altered the chipboard so I think that counts right? lol

Dream Catcher Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 01

The inspiration for this card was the starry patterned paper.  Of course I decided it looked like a whimsical night sky so I searched through my chippies and found a dream catcher. What luck!

Dream Catcher Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 03

Because the chippie is long and narrow…or short and wide depending on how you arrange it…I thought it lent itself to a 4 x 9 card. It really becomes a focal point as it takes up most of the center of the card.

Dream Catcher Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 02

The dream catcher is finished with a base coat of flat white acrylic paint then topped of with an embossing powder that’s mostly white but also has flecks of blue and gold. It makes it look like I did way more work to get a mottled finish.  Another fun stash find was the acrylic moon charms, they are large…but clear…so they don’t overwhelm that top corner. I finished it off with a pretty loopy bow and vintage button.

Dream Catcher Greeting Card Polly's Paper Studio 04

The florals coordinate perfectly and follow the curve of the chippie. Since I added moon charms I thought why not some stars as well? They are die cut from holographic cardstock for extra sparkle.  Once the arrangement was complete I adhered some Prills in random places to bring that texture that I love. I’ve also included it in the areas around the card that I had distress and squished up a bit. Last but not least is a few flat back pearly accents.
