Home Cooking Recipe Mini Album with Authentique

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here to share a fun mini album recipe book I created with the Ingredient collection. This is such an amazing retro inspired vintgy group of patterned papers and images!

Oh those bright cheerful colors really speak to my crafty style!

I’ve gathered perfectly coordinating flowers and ribbons and even tiny metal utensils! This little album was a ready made ring bound in the matching colors so it was a snap to put together!

The pages inside are combinations of the patterned papers matted with the gorgeous Caribbean Spectrum cardstock.

Pockets hold folded inserts with the image cut apart cards on the front and plenty of room for pictures and journaling inside. I’ve also tucked in the recipe cards that come with the collection. How easy it will be to store and display favorite family meals.

The pockets are plenty big for additional mementos.

The page on the left has a sweet little doily photo area with the matting and patterned paper. Simply tuck your picture behind the  retro stamps and secure.  These are full page tip ins as well so they add more real estate to this mini.

Inside are pages with the collection paper.

This set of pages has a belly band with recipe cards tucked in behind and a tip in on the right. Isn’t the vintgy casserole dish paper the cutest thing ever????

The recipe cards are easy to use since they can be removed.

The last page has one last tip in with such a sweet sentiment. I think this book would make an amazing gift to a newly married couple or homeowner.

Wishing everyone a happy and productive day : ) Ginny

Thinking of You at Easter Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Dropping in to share a sweet vintage inspired greeting card created with my favorite new chippie frame.

The frame takes the place of my regular doily layer but with more dimension and detail.

It also makes a focal point of the vintage image.

And it fits this 6 x 6 card perfectly!

I created a bit of a mottled finish for the frame with inks and paints.

Of course I loaded on the perfectly coordinating flowers and trims.

And a sweet sentiment layered over a rusty finished metal heart.

I wiped down the chippie to prepare it for altering.

2 coats of pearly paint to add a shimmery finish.

Last but not least I pounced the orangy ink pad on top to add a depth of color.

True Love Valentine Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Well it seems like there is lots of group posts happening today so this is the second post I have that’s featuring a project that is part of a crew event. This time I’m sharing a vintgy Valentine card created for Authentique Papers.

I’m using the Romance collection for this card. I love the patterned papers and retro images!

I enjoy creating 6 x 6 square cards as it makes it a snap to measure and cut the papers.

There’s quite a few patterns here stacked up so I’m using the coordinating Spectrum cardstock to keep it from looking busy. I’ve also layered the Elements die cuts to create a one of a kind sentiment embellishment.

Last but not least are loads of perfectly matching flowers, vintage buttons, and dangly metal charms.

Make sure you check out the Authentique Paper Blog to enjoy the projects created by the design team…I’ve had a schenaky peek and they are fabby!

Vintage Rabbit Easter Card

Standard

Hello friends and crafty peeps! Time again for another fun hop with the crew at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This month we’re using the February Purple & Green Ribbon Club Assortment. So perfect for Easter and Spring!

You should be coming to me from my friend Gloria. If you’re just joining in you’ll want to go to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog to start at the beginning.

I created a very vintagy inspired Easter card….

The lavender egg in the rabbit’s basket matches the ribbon perfectly!

This purple and green combination really helps me think Spring. Even whilst is freezing rain today here in mid Michigan.

The burlap string helps to fill in this floral arrangement.

More string here to create a double layered loopy bow topped with a vintage button. There’s also a sweet butterfly charm clipped on to a die cut frame.

Please enjoy this tutorial on how I created this card……

Your next stop in the hop is Miss Cheryl.

Shabby Chic Birdhouse Greeting Card

Standard

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here to share a spring inspired greeting card created with the gorgeous chipboard from GSL.

This card reminds me that there are warm days ahead even if it’s -20 degrees right now here in mid-Michigan.

I’ve stacked up these chippies for a layered look.

And added pretty finishing details.

Instead of my usual patterned paper I’m utilizing the  chipboard to create the background.

There’s a few flowers and matching trims to coordinate.

I selected the chipboard and wiped it down to prepare it for altering.

Everything gets a base coat of flat white acrylic paint.

I created an ombre effect on these feathers by tapping on silver paint into the white paint while it was still wet.

The birdhouse is finished with a quick distressing with ink and stamped with a texture to look like old stone.
