Wings and Heart Greeting Card with Tutorial

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share a very vintagy inspired greeting card with loads of chippies and flowers , burlap and lace.

Isn’t this the sweetest? Anything with hearts and wings is going to be great, right?

There’s a lot going on here….but using the dark navy borders really helps to break up the busy patterns.

I think the burlap and lace adds so much texture and gives a really homespun country appeal.

Gorgeous flowers and pearly accents.

The cabochon in the center has flowers in the exact same shades and is the perfect focal point.

1.  I wiped down the chippies and poked out the little bits to prepare them for finishing. 2. I applied a flat white embossing powder to the wings and heat set it then allowed it to cool. Focusing on the wingtips I added a layer of white and gold speckled embossing powder and set that also. A final layer of glitter snow to the very edges for added texture. 3. While the glitter snow was still wet I sprinkled on some Prills. 4. Text paper was applied to the heart and the edges sanded down with a small file. The edges are aged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The frame was easily altered with navy embossing powder and heat set.

  1. Wings didn’t draw my eyes…the red, white and blue clusters, however, really drew me into this card! Clever idea to use colored berries…so cute and original.
