Yellow Rose Greeting Card

Yellow Rose Card 1Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here to share a card I created with the fabby Cheery Lynn Designs Dies, layered patterned papers and a little mixed media. This card starts with an A2 sized card base with a generous amount of texture paste embossing. Then the layering begins….lots of patterns separated by solids, additional dies for texture, Stickles, vintage buttons and trim.Yellow Rose Card 2This lovely flower is created with the Rose and Leaves Die. A little bending and pulling and it took a nice shape then I filled in some of the gaps with Mercury Glass Stickles.  There’s more glitter on the leaves as well.Yellow Rose Card 3In the very background I’ve added a Mirror Mirror Doily Frame cut from white cardstock. For the focal section there’s a French Pastry Doily cut from the patterned paper. I love the script. This doily was too wide for where I wanted to put it so I clipped a small bit of the side off….and flipped around the extra little piece and layered  it on as well. You can never have enough layers!Yellow Rose Card 4Adding the Fanciful Flourish Left die cut from white helps to fill the space and create the illusion of a larger flower arrangement.

Yellow Rose Card 5I created a little more texture for the background with the Lattice Die glued down to the patterned paper and trimmed to size. Yellow Rose Card 6I’m not going to go as far as saying this card is monochromatic….but it’s low contrast makes it seem very vintagy and dreamy.
