Kraft Doily Card with Cheery Lynn

Kraft Doily Card 1Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share a card I created inspired by the Cheery Lynn Designs Large Sunflower Doily. I cut it out with Kraft paper and new instantly that it would look fabulous layered with creamy whites paper patterns.  To anchor the warmer color of the doily I used a Kraft card base cut 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. To add texture and depth I used the Tonic Distressing Tool to tatter the edges  and spacers between the layers.Kraft Doily Card 2 This arrangement of flowers has the Gardenia Strip and Small Gardenia Strip as well as the Miniature Rose, Dandelions, and Flourish #14. I’ve added a gorgeous ribbon bow, tag and vintage button to coordinate with the flowers.Kraft Doily Card 3I cut additional pieces from the Kraft paper to add bulk and fill in the flowers.  Bending the leaves gives them dimension. I used only 2 layers of the Miniature Roses with a pearl in the center to fill in the edges of the display.Kraft Doily Card 4

Horizon Fishtail Banners and Square Frame elements are stacked up and secured with spacers for a delicate look. I finished this card off with  pearly accents, a simple loopy twine bow and coordinating wooden clothespin.Kraft Doily Card 5This card has a definitely country chic appeal.

I stared with  selecting the chippies…..Steampunk Light Bulb Shapes Set.

Gave them a base coat with Gesso…I used a makeup applicator.

IMG_9011Some of the chippies have been finished with Perfect Pearls Mist in Bronze, Art-C Gold and Silver Metallic Paint, and BoBunny Chocolate Pearlescents.  Allowed to dry and edges inked with Memento Ink in Black. I also used a Pitt Big Brush to add additional detail and a Finnabair stamp.IMG_9012Allow to dry completely and add a layer of heat set gloss embossing.IMG_9014Now for some fun layering of the chippies, flowers, ribbon and trims….Steampunk Artist Tag 2I snuck in a Miniature Book Plate with a section of the Altered Pages Stamp. This chippie was finished simply with gold glittery embossing.Steampunk Artist Tag 3Chippies all layered up over the edge of the Triptych Arch frame with a coat of flat black acrylic.Steampunk Artist Tag 4I’m using Stunning in the Coture Collection from Graphic 45 for the background. Take A Hike Box & Tags with BoBunny

Hey there Peeps! Today I am sharing a very special project I created especially for my Hubby for Father’s Day ( it’s a little late.)  He and my younger Son went on an amazing adventure last summer that was a life changing experience for them. They spent 10 days hiking 91 miles in the mountains in New Mexico at the Philmont  Boy Scout Camp with some of their best friends.  Thanks to a great camera on his phone he was able to capture the amazing trip to share.  I can’t possibly scrap all the pics…but here are some good ones….especially of them together.   Take a Hike Tag Box 1

The Take A Hike Collection from BoBunny is just too perfect to scrap these outdoorsy pictures.

Take a Hike Tag Box 2

Since this is a gift…I wanted to be able to include lots of pics so I’m using this fabby box filled with tags.  I started by giving all the chipboard pieces a nice base coat of flat black acrylic. Then added loads of layers of patterned papers.

Take a Hike Tag Box 3

Using the sheets from the 6 x 6 paper pad I was able to incorporate the full patterns for the outside of the box.

Take a Hike Tag Box 4

I took advantage of the smaller front section to add the layered stickers and ephemera pieces giving this project a lot of depth.  Chocolaty colored ribbons, buttons and brads really adds a great detail and still maintains the woodsy style.

Take a Hike Tag Box 5

I had so much fun combining the patterned papers and embellies to create tags with similar…but coordinating looks.

Take a Hike Tag Box 6

The backs are finished as well and has room for larger pictures.

Take a Hike Tag Box 7

I created a small open top box to add to the tag on the left. It has one smaller decorated tag and additional journal tags so my Hubby can share his favorite memories from camp.

Take a Hike Tag Box 8

You can see that he has a ton of room for journal tags in this little box.

Take a Hike Tag Box 9

After adding the pictures I was able to go back and incorporate the ephemera pieces to accent the tags.

Take a Hike Tag Box 10

I used the patterned papers to cover smaller chipboard frames for some of the close up pictures.

Take a Hike Tag Box 11

To help separate the busy patterns I used borders of black cardstock.  This picture of my guys on the top of the mountain is one of my favorites.

Take a Hike Tag Box 12

6 tags finished front and back. All different…but similar to keep a consistent look throughout.

Welcome to the Jungle Card with Cheery Lynn

Welcome to The Jungle Greeting Card 1

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here and I’m dropping in to share a walk on the wild side.  I love this card with it’s warm colors and layering.

Welcome to The Jungle Greeting Card 4

I cut a 6 1/2 x 5 inch card base from black cardstock then layered on several sizes of the Rectangle Stitch and Cut Die  in different patterns and stacked them up with black borders. I’ve also tucked in a Swedish Spring Oval Frame cut from the same black cardstock.

Welcome to The Jungle Greeting Card 2

I was able to add texture with the Gauze Border cut from straw colored paper.  These flowers are not “tropical” like the bird…but I think they look fabby when cut from the Graphic 45 Safari Adventure papers…..they match perfectly. I’m using the Tea Rose Medium and Small Gardenia over the Fanciful Flourish Left.

Welcome to The Jungle Greeting Card 3

I swapped out the center pieces from the Tea Rose for bisque  colored pearl gems. To work in a bit of extra pattern there’s a few Horizon Fishtail Banners tucked in.

Welcome to The Jungle Greeting Card 5

These strong paper patterns really needed a bold ribbon choice so I added a half of a loopy bow of black with white dots.  Along with the die cut leaves I fussy cut a few leaves from the patterned paper and gave them a bit of a bendy shape and tucked them in with the flowers to fill in the arrangement. A few added bits like the large clip  and metal eylet are great finishing touches.

Safari Tag

Hey there Peeps. Well I’m taking a walk on the wild side this week with a safari styled tag created with awesome chippies from Gypsy Soul and Safari Adventure from Graphic 45.Safari Tag Gypsy Soul Graphic 45 1

Loving the warmed colors and tropical styled flowers on this tag.

Safari Tag Gypsy Soul Graphic 45 2
I’m using the new Safari Shapes set which will be coming to the shop soon and it’s just too perfect a match for the Graphic 45 papers. For this badge shape I gave it a simple coat of gold sparkle pen…not sure the camera picked it up too well though : (   I gave a  cardstock  background to his particular chippie so it would be easy to see the fun lettering. I was able to tuck some tropical styled flowers behind as well.
Safari Tag Gypsy Soul Graphic 45 3
For this Filigree Background Frame I pounced around on it with the Black Soot Distress Ink pad to give it a mottled effect.  The stamps from the patterned papers were a great fit in the Postage Stamp chippies.  I finished these with a white gel pen and staked them using foam spares to keep everything level.
Safari Tag Gypsy Soul Graphic 45 4
Another element from the Safari Shapes peeking out from the corner there. I think you can see the glitter pen a bit better on this piece.

Safari Tag Gypsy Soul Graphic 45 5
From this angle you can see the great amount of depth I was able to achieve staking up the chipboard pieces and using spacers between the layers.

Summer Fun Pinwheel Peat Pot Topiary1Summer Fun Pinwheel Peat Pot Topiary2Summer Fun Pinwheel Peat Pot Topiary3

For my Sizzlin’ Summer Colors I’m using Yellow, Orange, and Parrot Green Wrinkle Ribbon. I moved that ribbon arrangement 3 time before I found the perfect spot for it and it coordinates so perfectly with the Simple Stories paper and stickers and chipboard.

I gifted this topiary to my sweet local friend who has been working hard on graduation parties and library fundraisers. She is a real local treasure….and a dear friend.

Okay now it’s time for you to whip up a Sizzlin’ Summer Color project and link up with us to play along.

This super cutee bee  was cut with the Whimsical Bee Die in yellow then given a layer of black cardstock behind . Once I had a solid base I was able to add pretty Black Diamond Stickles for a little glitz.  I clipped an additional bee from white paper with gold dots and trimmed the wings off and added them with foam spacers.  Last but not least…googly eyes to make his already sweet face even more whimsical.
