Take Life One Cup at a Time Mixed Media

Standard

Hey there Peeps!  It’s Ginny here and I’m dropping in to share a very fun mixed media collage I created using the super cute coffee cup chippies from Gypsy Soul.  My day does not start without a good strong cup of french roast….okay maybe two lol.

Take Life One Cup at a Time 1

After prepping the chippies with Gesso I used a variety of inks and stamps to give each little cup a unique color scheme…then I used the chevron stamp on the front of each one to bring them together as a set.

Take Life One Cup at a Time 2

These Cups have little separate pieces that makes them super easy to alter!!!  I layered these two on Mixed Media Fragments.

Take Life One Cup at a Time 3

I separated this Mixed Media Fragment piece into smaller portions to create fun focal points around the edge of this collage.  Topped off with coordinating flowers.

Take Life One Cup at a Time 4

Two more cups for this arrangement. I added some sparkly gems because  coffee with bling is even more better!!!

Take Life One Cup at a Time 5

Adding shading around the chipboard elements helps to anchor them in the collage and gives and aged effect.

Easter Pocket with Tags

Standard

It’s no secret I’m a sucker for lovely little pockets chock full of tags. Not only is it a wonderful seasonal  decor item..but a thoughtful way to give gift cards to an entire  family. Simply add them to the tags and after they receive their gift..they can add pictures and journaling to the tags to remember the special holiday they  shared with you : ) These tags have sweet children with bunnies and lambs and flowers all layered on bright and cheerful paper patterns. I combined Precious Memories with Baby 2 Bride from Graphic 45 for the perfect amount of shabby and holiday.

Enchanted Forest Card

Standard

Hey there Peeps! It’s Ginny here and I’m very excited that it’s Thursday. My day over at the GSL blog to show  creations using the Fabulous Gypsy Soul chippies. I created a card with medieval flair with Enchanted Forest from Graphic 45.

Wonderful Fairytale Greeting Card 1

There’s lots of layers of patterned papers here with spacers for a lot of dimension.

Wonderful Fairytale Greeting Card 2

Using a distressing tool on the edges of the paper adds so much texture.

Wonderful Fairytale Greeting Card 3

The focal image is framed with Flourished Frame Evie. A layer of crackle paint and some distress stain finishes it off to look like old metal.

Wonderful Fairytale Greeting Card 4

Adding painted Feathery Flourishes to the flowers helps anchor the arrangement and extend it to the corners of the card.

Wonderful Fairytale Greeting Card 5

More flourishes are a great place to add a sentiment banner.

Wonderful Fairytale Greeting Card 6

With so much patterns going on I needed only a simple graphic striped ribbon and coordinating pearly accents.

Okay that’s so much for visiting today.  Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be productive : )G

Children’s Hour Spool Display with Graphic 45

Standard

This project started with a poor unloved spool rescued out of a toss pile my Hubby made while cleaning out his tool room. I just couldn’t pass up that shape and I knew I wanted to add loads of flowers and moss…so the March Collective was the perfect choice to create a whimsical….almost fairy like vignette.  Maybe I’ll dig a little deeper in the toss pile and see what other trash I can turn into treasure.

Voyage Beneath The Sea Shadow Box

Standard

I’ve never dreamed of tiny men riding fish under the sea….but if I did I hope it would look like this!  It’s all a little dreamy and surrealistic. This mixed media box really tells a story of under the sea with whimsical characters and dreamy colors. Loads of textures to give the impression of fish scales, nets, and bubbles. Voyage beneath the sea has really turned into  a favorite paper line.
