Communique Stand Display with Snapguide Tutorial

Standard

Hey there Paper Peeps! I’m dropping in to share a Communique Stand Display I created especially for Graphic 45. I can just image this very vintagy Stand Display on a ladies makeup table or added to a collection of heirloom treasures on a shelf. I overloaded it with flowers so it would have a very feminine feel which is a great combination with the more masculine paper patterns from Communique.  I love the texture from the gears and ribbon trim.

Farmhouse Christmas Gift Box with Canvas Corp

Standard

Happy Sunday Paper Peeps! Today I’m sharing the second project that was created especially to be featured in CardMaker Magazine special Happy Holidays Edition.  They requested a home decor item, a card and a gift box.  I’ll bet you can guess what coming up in the next post lol. Anyhoo I’m using the beautiful patterned papers from Canvas Corp Brands Farmhouse Christmas along with ribbon trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and flowers from Petaloo.

It's a Wonderful Life Gift BoxYou can see how this box coordinates with the canvas frame from the previous post.  I used the Farmhouse Christmas Tags as a large label for the front and attached it by adding 4 silver eyelets to the corners and running twine through.

It's a Wonderful Life Gift Box3Still working from the Tags sheet I clipped out the snowflakes circles and added them to metal rimmed mailing tags and hung them on the ribbon handle with ball chain.

It's a Wonderful Life Gift Box2Lovely flowers from Petaloo to match the not so traditional colors of my canvas project. They are covering the top of the velcro closure to keep the contents of the box securely inside.

It's a Wonderful Life Gift Box4The inside of the box was finished with Black & Kraft Ribbon Stripe patterned paper. You can see on the lid how the ribbon handle is attached with eyelets to keep the ribbon from pulling through the paper.

It's a Wonderful Life Gift Box5This is a more personal way to present a gift card. I measured and there’s plenty of room inside for a small treat as well. Maybe a small wrapped cookie or tiny seasonal chocolates???

I’ve created a template for this box and you can find it as well as a complete supplies list in the special Happy Holidays Edition of CardMaker Magazine on craft store shelves now. I am told by my local peeps that you can also find it at Target and Meijer. Or wherever special interest publications are sold.

Wishing You a Merry Christmas Altered Frame with Canvas Corp

Hey there Peeps! Well I was pretty excited to see the Happy Holidays Edition of CardMaker Magazine on the shelf at Micheal’s Craft Store. Why would I be happy do you ask? Well because Polly’s has three lovely projects featured on pages 50-55.  I’m sharing them here as well. You’ll have to pick up the magazine to get a complete product list and step by step tutorial for my three Christmas projects. Today I’m sharing an altered canvas frame.

CAS Cards and not so CAS Tag

Standard

Hey there Paper Peeps! I challenged myself to get outside my comfort zone and try out a new crafty style. For me that would be Clean and Simple. I know I tend to go a little overboard with the layers and trimmy bits….but I thought I might stretch myself creatively.  I created 4 Beautiful Butterfly Greeting Cards that I believe qualify as CAS…but I relapsed into my old ways  while I had the supplies on the table and went ahead and made a tag that is more my reg style. I hope you enjoy both : )

CAS cards 1I printed a sheet of my Butterfly Circles Digital Collage, clipped them out and punched a border from black cardstock and layered them up on a printed doily. I found the doilies in the Halloween section at Michael’s.  I chose a lovely subtly patterned paper and embossed it for texture. Another black border and added that to a card base. Once I had four cards complete I bundled them up and tied them together with additional ribbon and a metal rimmed mailing tag topped with a fun embellishment and clipped on with wooden clothes pin .  Wide Black Plaid Ribbon. Narrow Black Plaid Ribbon.

CAS cards 3 CAS cards 2So that’s my take on Clean and Simple.  Now for my take on add as much stuff as I want style. Beautiful Butterfly Tag.

Halloween Stand Display with Petaloo and Crafty Secrets

Standard

Hey there peeps! Happy Saturday to you all! I’m just dropping in to share a fun Halloween Stand Display I created with the Crafty Secrets Creating With Vintage Halloween CD.

Halloween Stand Display 1Not conventional Halloween colors….but it sure has a festive holiday vibe.

Halloween Stand Display 2I added the pumpkin face image to a sweet little scalloped tin then created a “wreath” with black netting ribbon and loads of Petaloo flowers and berry picks.

Halloween Stand Display 3Can’t go wrong with Black Plaid ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon for a generous loopy bow. I also tucked in some  Antique Gold Burlap String bows to break up the dark colors and to match the flowers.

Halloween Stand Display 4For additional detail I printed the tag sheet from the cd extra tiny and joined them to make a fun banner shape then worked it around and under the wreath.

Halloween Stand Display 5To give the image a nice finished edge I topped it off with Tim Holtz black tinsel trim.

Funny story about this project I think we can all relate to. As crafters we are always on the look out for great bases to start our projects with. We have a local discount store that I peruse occasionally to find unique shapes or objects I can layer up with paper and trimmings. Such is the case with this nice wooden stand. So I listed the project in the online shop and it sold right away to one of my fav peeps. In my efforts to locate a box I could ship it in…I neglected to take the sticker from the discount store off the back. Boy is she gonna get a laugh when she sees it. But hey…it happens to all of us and we learn everyday…so the moral of the story is…make fabulous art….but remember to check for stickers before you ship sold items lol.

Okay that’s all for me…wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Orange You Glad it’s Autumn Challenge at RRR

Standard

Hey there Peeps it’s time again for another fun challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon. The theme for this challenge is Orange You Glad it’s Autumn with Ribbon? How fun is that??? I just happened to pick up some big glittery meshy leaves so I used it as a base and added vintagy images, flowers and ribbon trims and added it to a base of canvas covered chipboard to create a Fall-tastic Orange You Glad it’s Autumn Wall Hanging.

Celebrating World’s Fair with Graphic 45

Standard

Hello there Peeps! Don’t ya just love when a new paper line come out with great patterns and colors that are fun to work with a photograph beautifully? I know I do. That’s just what you get with World’s Fair. It’s really gorgeous and a delight to work with! I created a Tag Book in a Box to highlight my fav images and patterns then loaded it down with embellishments and flowers and ribbon trim.

There is nothing more fun to make than tags. It’s an excuse to pull out every pattern in the collection. And you get to add all the fun trimmy bits and chipboard. I created these tags to work as an unconventional scrapbook just by adding pictures and journaling to the backs of the tags. It can be stored in the box and displayed on a shelf or table.
