Hooray for the Red White and Blue Patriotic Picnic Centerpiece

Standard

Hey there Peeps! Well you all know how crazy we are for summer holidays here at Polly’s. Not only are we fiercely patriotic but my Hubbies Birthday is on the 4th so we have lots or reason to celebrate!!! I created a picnic centerpiece for Graphic 45 filled with a star spangled floral display complete with paper pinwheels andddd it’s in a mason jar which makes it more awesome anddd it has a jar cozy with sections to hold napkins and utensils. So it’s pretty much the most pretty and practical centerpiece ever!!!

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 1  Of course I’m using Home Sweet Home with it’s homespun charm and patriotic color scheme!

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 6I created the jar cozy with the Staples Tag Album. It will make switching out the flowers easier  and will prevent drips on the pretty papers.

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 7My dear Hubby found these carnations for me to arrange with the glittery stars made with real glass glitter and the paper pinwheels made from the 6 x 6 paper pad and Staples Metal Brads.

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 2Four cozy compartments to hold napkins and utensils. Instead of the cups we used to use that would blow over in the wind lol.

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 3I gave each compartment a different but similar look using the coordinating chipboard.

Home Sweet Home Floral Centerpiece Napkin and Utensil Holder 4These Petaloo flowers are actually supposed to be for Christmas…but they matched perfectly to my color scheme so I went with it.

  1. Thank you so much for pushing my brain to look at the Home Sweet Home G45 paper collection from a different perspective. It didn’t even register that I could use this collection for a July 4th theme! My creative eyes were drawn to the green and yellow side. Thank goodness for Design Team members to open new vistas! Beautiful project!

  2. I love this sweet centerpiece for the 4th of July celebrations. The Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home paper is perfect for this project. Thanks for sharing with us.

  3. What a great, practical way of enjoying beautiful G45 papers, especially through the summer when there are so many opportunities for casual eating. It’s also a great idea for craft fairs too because it’s so eye catching.

I’ve just had a burst of inspiration: the colours can be changed to represent various charities who have fund raising events by filling the centre with windmills and flags to represent any particular charity, i.e. yellow and green for the MacMillan Coffee Morning event, or pink for breast cancer fund raising. These then could be sold, if a pin was hot glued on the back and the windmill or flag easily removed from the stem, they could be worn as a brooch. This is one thing I’m going to make this summer. Thanks for the inspiration, your blogs are always beautiful.
