Buzz Buzz Bee Card

Standard

Good morning all you Paper Peeps! I’m dropping in to share a card I created in the shop yesterday. I don’t want anyone to fall out of their chair….but it’s yellow. Yep this shabby chic girl is stepping out of the box to use some fabulous Yellow Plaid Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

IMG_3201IMG_3203I just happened to have these beautiful flowers in the hoard and I think they match perfectly! I also unstashed the metal rimmed brads to hold the tags on the poofy bows. I had a few spare vintagy printables and elements from my digital collage sheets to layer up over the banner shaped printed paper and inked doily. To keep the colors from getting floaty I bordered them in this grayish brown cardstock.

I’m off to get ready for work now…..it’s Friday Funday with one of my dear friends Brandy….we get a lot of work done….enjoy a marathon of some chosen tv show ( Disney on the day Brandy picks)  and lots of chit chat and jibber jabber!  I so look forward to Fridays : )

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

What would be exciting after that???? Well I am sharing the fun and festive 3d Patriotic project from our class last week. Thanks to Linda for finding the awesome little stripy baking pans that inspired this Americana decor.

IMG_3180I’ve already added mine to our Patriotic tree and it’s just the right amount of vintagyness!

IMG_3179IMG_3177There were soooo many pieces to this project….but my girlies were good sports. I can tell you we did get into our usual sass and shenanigans so we had a pretty late night…but I’m thrilled with this project and I’ll be adding this to my favorite seasonal decor for all the summer holidays and my sweeties Birthday.

Did you notice those super fabulous burlap bows????? I am sooooo loving the Navy Center Stitch Burlap ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Okay Peeps…it’s out to the cold for this girl……going in to the shop to make some cards and leave some love for the other 30 finalists…I hope you do to! I’m wishing you all a happy and productive day and time to be creative : )

Patriotic Banner Ornament Tutorial

Standard

Hello all you fabulous Paper Peeps! I’m dropping in to share an easy tutorial for making some fun and festive Patriotic Banner Ornaments. I’m calling them ornaments since I plan to hang mine on our Americana tree. I think they would look just a great on a card base or as a tag.

IMG_3194The finished project : )

2014-03-24I started with a banner shape of wood grain pattered paper. Shabby chic of course! Next I added a well inked doily. There’s a vintagy postcard image centered over the doily and topped off with a Little Bitty Bag. I added a well inked tag to the bag.

2014-03-241Next I layered on a scallop die cut of printed paper and a blue bordered vintage tag.  I added a generous strip of my new favorite ribbon Center Stitch Burlap with Navy Stripe.  I had a fun little ruler image in the scrap and salvage box….and I think it finished of the bottom of the tag nicely.

2014-03-243For the bottom of the tag…I added handcrafted tinsel topped crepe fringe. Next I attached a very vintage image that was Stickled and inked. The poofy bow comes in right beside the image and topped of with Wild Orchid Crafts Sweetheart Blooms.  Last but not least…I punched a couple of holes in the top and threaded more of the burlap ribbon through to create a hanger and finished it off with nice big loopy bows of Red Gingham Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Okay….that’s it for me today….I’m off to finish packaging kits for shipping, then off to the shop to prep for class tonight. I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative. : )G

Patriotic Americana Creativity Kit and Projects

Standard

Hello there Paper Peeps! I’ve been having myself a good ol time creating lot’s of new vintage inspired decoration for my hubbies patriotic Americana tree that we use to help us celebrate all the summer holidays and his Birthday.  I’ve upgraded the tree size this year….so I’ve got a lot of work to do to fill it in…more is better after all right??????

IMG_3166IMG_3167IMG_3168IMG_3165IMG_3169IMG_3170I’ve used the fun and festive pieces from my new Patriotic Americana Vintage Creativity Kit.

IMG_3171This kit has 36 pieces including handcrafted red, white, and blue tinsel topped fringes, pre-tied bows and loads of printed vintage images. They come pre-cut also….so they’re ready to get your craft on with! Click HERE for more details.

I used only papers from my scrap and salvage box to complete these projects….so it’s a great stashbuster kit as well. For a little added detail…I added some bows created with Red and White Chevron Stripe from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I have one more fun project to share from this kit……but I’m saving it for a tutorial on Tuesday….so you can see how I create these fun ornaments.

Okay….we’re off to Costco now for  our Family Fun Day! I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G
